14. Arven is an Arcane dragon, but he's quite content living in the Viridian Labyrinth. For one thing, it's much greener. For another, Arven has endless opportunities for experimentation.
15.
16. Like many Arcane dragons, Arven has a nigh-insatiable curiosity and a desire to change the world around him. In his case, Arven is more interested in smaller, less world-shattering changes, most of them of botanical in nature. (No pun intended.) Not long after moving to the Labyrinth, Arven began the careful process of hybridising native flora from the Isles with Labyrinthean species. With a little time, patience, and a few jolts of Arcane magic here and there, Arven was able to create crystalline flowers of just about every colour imaginable.
17.
18. And it is imaginable. As it turned out, Arven's use of Arcane magic to achieve results imbued the plants with a sensitivity to the thoughts and wishes of dragons around them. The effect is strongest while the plants are young, before the first flowers open, but even more mature specimens have been known to alter themselves based on the psychic feedback from their caretakers.
19.
20. Consequently, Arven's crystalline flowers can take on any hue their owners wish, as well as any flavour. While there have been a few ...unusual effects from particularly hungry mirrors in proximity to the seedlings, the results have overall been quite successful and Arven's "candy blossoms" are very popular with his clanmates. For the curious, Arven's personal favourite flavour-colour combination is a perfectly pale pink with a fizzy grapefruit aftertaste.
