1) I have learned that the people of Appalachian have been able to preserve much of their culture despite all odds. Concepts such as planting by the signs or crankies would have easily been lost in today's society. The internet can do a lot to aid in the preserving of these concepts.

2) I feel compelled to continue research about the region. The information is beyond fascinating. As a teacher I will continue to talk about Appalachia with my colleagues and students.
