  1. Kyoro-TM 46:19 [46:38 JRTA] (05/10/10):
  2. https://web.archive.org/web/20110409052556/http://com.nicovideo.jp:80/community/co421745
  3. WR at the time was 45:08 [45:27 JRTA] by Fis (05/10/10).
  4. Kyoro's 46:19 [46:38 JRTA] would have been a WR by 1 second if it wasn't for Fis' 45:08 [45:27 JRTA] which was achieved that same day.
  5. Both of these runs were achieved with the help of a recently discovered glitch known as the Wrong Warp. These runs applied Wrong Warping to Slime Climb and Chain Link Chamber.
  6.
  7.
  8. Riz 42:38 [42:57 JRTA] (17/09/11):
  9. https://web.archive.org/web/20110923181544/http://com.nicovideo.jp:80/community/co1028422
  10. WR at the time was 42:37 [42:56 JRTA] by Shuton (21/08/11).
  11. Shuton's 42:34 [42:53 JRTA] was achieved under a week after Riz got his 42:38 [42:57 JRTA]. Riz' run may have inspired Shuton, but it's more likely that it was achieved because the game was really active at the time.
  12. Note that at the time, WR was really known as 42:36 [42:55 JRTA] by Alice (24/09/11), but today we know that Alice's WRs were cheated.
  13.
  14.
  15. Riz 42:35 [42:54 JRTA] (07/10/11):
  16. https://web.archive.org/web/20111019215944/http://www40.atwiki.jp:80/niconamarta/pages/45.html
  17. WR at the time was 42:34 [42:53 JRTA] by Shuton (23/09/11).
  18. Riz would go on to achieve WR sometime within the next 12 days. Although at the time, WR was known as 42:30 [42:49 JRTA] by Alice (24/09/11).
  19.
  20.
  21. Drum 42:16 [42:35 JRTA] (30/08/12):
  22. Part 1: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm18752863
  23. Part 2: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm18753134
  24. First good run (with video that exists today) that includes the 1-2 and 1-5 wrong warps. These wrong warps were showcased in Umihoshi's TAS released on April 3rd 2011, but Shuton didn't attempt them in his WRs. Riz most likely went for them in his earlier WRs because Riz' first run (and WR) with video that still exists was achieved 1 day after this run from Drum, and that run uses the same optimizations. Note that Drum's run (and presumable Riz' runs from throughout the years) also featured many other optimizations taken from Umihoshi's TAS.
  25. WR at the time was 42:08 [42:27 JRTA] by Riz (26/05/12).
  26. The quality of this run is overall better than Riz's 42:08 (Drum lost ~10s to SNES loads).
  27. Riz improved his WR to a 42:03 [42:22 JRTA] the very next day. Drum's run possibly inspired Riz.
  28.
  29.
  30. Reflected 41:41.06 (27/05/14):
  31. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/49161687
  32. WR at the time was 41:39 by Claude (20/05/14).
  33.
  34.
  35. Drum 41:19 (06/07/14):
  36. Part 1: https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/1404721000
  37. Part 2: https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/1404722356
  38. WR at the time was 41:14 by Reflected or 41:01 by Claude.
  39. WR wasn't very optimized yet since the Bramble Scramble wrong warp was recently discovered. Many people had a chance to get WR during this period. Drum's run could have been WR if it was achieved a day earlier. Note that I think most Japanese runners weren't aware of the wrong warp until a day after it was discovered.
  40.
  41.
  42. V0oid 40:39 (May - Early June 2015)
  43. WR at the time was 40:37 by Claude (04/12/14).
  44.
  45.
  46. Djeez 40:31 (02/02/17):
  47. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/119319226
  48. WR at the time was 40:17 by V0oid (26/12/16).
  49. This run could have been WR with a good W6.
  50. This run is noteworthy for getting as close as anyone had been to WR for a very long time.
  51.
  52.
  53. Waffle42 40:03 (07/04/17):
  54. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/134153530
  55. WR at the time was 39:59 by V0oid (15/03/17).
  56. This run could have been WR if Waffle didn't play World 7 as safe as he did. He lost 3 seconds in 7-1 (due to picking up the DK Barrel, bitching out of Fast Goal, and safe movement overall), and his K.Rool throws were also very safe. However, a solid 7-1 with TheJuuump would have been enough for WR, even with his safe K.Rool throws.
  57. However, this run was achieved not long after the discovery of the Krockhead Klamber wrong warp, so WR wasn't yet as optimized as it once was (although it was close).
  58. V0oid came back to DKC2 on the same day Waffle's 40:03 was achieved. V0oid then went on to get his 39:49 that same stream. Waffle's run may have been what inspired V0oid.
  59.
  60.
  61. Waffle42 39:51.1 (06/12/17) & mdr_lz 39:51.3 (13/01/18):
  62. Waffle: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/207542032
  63. lz: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/218117699
  64. WR at the time was 39:49 by V0oid (07/04/17).
  65. The World 2 exit time in Waffle's 39:51 was below average. If Waffle matched the World 2 exit time in V0oid's 39:49, his run would be a 39:47.
  66. Waffle could have gotten TWR if he didn't choke at the end of Toxic Tower, or if he had a better World 7.
  67. lz also could have easily gotten TWR with a better Toxic, but untied WR was also very real before Toxic because he lost ~3 seconds in that level.
  68.
  69.
  70. Kanis 39:04.2 (20/05/18):
  71. This run was achieved 10 minutes after V0oid took the record back from Kanis with a 39:03.
  72. This run is ~.25 slower than V0oid's 39:03.
  73.
  74.
  75. crypton 38:38 (27/07/18):
  76. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/289779590
  77. WR at the time was 38:37 by V0oid (23/05/18).
  78.
  79.
  80. Waffle42 38:39 (03/10/18):
  81. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/317960145
  82. WR at the time was 38:32 by crypton (15/09/18).
  83. Waffle got a good early game for once, but his mid game was lacking.
  84.
  85.
  86. V0oid 38:36 (04/11/18):
  87. WR at the time was 38:32 by crypton (15/09/18).
  88. V0oid's PB before achieving his 38:31.
  89.
  90.
  91. Djeez 38:41 (01/12/19):
  92. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOsdpafIGmk
  93. WR at the time was 38:28 by V0oid (07/12/18).
  94. Another Djeez PB which would have been WR if he didn't choke W6. Note that Djeez has the best W6 times out of any other runner.
  95.
  96.
  97. Tosaria 38:17 (17/07/21):
  98. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1089808869
  99. WR at the time was 38:14 by SBDWolf.
  100. Note that this run didn't attempt Gusty Glade Wrong Warp.
