SA2B Hero/Dark Story No Hit FAQ:


Q: What are you trying to do?
A: I am trying to beat Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (GCN)'s Hero/Dark Story without getting hit. I am attempting both stories (individually, not back-to-back), starting with Hero Story. If I manage to No Hit it, I'll attempt Dark Story, and afterwards Last Story, of course.

Q: What are your PBs?
A: They should be on-screen, but in case I'm not streaming this: Hero Story: 2 Hits. Dark Story: 2 Hits.

Q: What do you count as a hit?
A: Anything that causes or would cause you to lose rings, health, or a life. This includes getting hit while having a shield, but not while having invincibility. I am also including getting hit in the Finalhazard fight, despite not losing rings, because it feels wrong to not count it. I do not consider hitting cars, walls, or spinning out in the kart sections as hits. I also don't consider anything in the Chao World as hits, that'd be silly.

Q: Which story do you like the most?
A: Hero Story is probably my favourite, it's solid all the way through. Dark Story has some bangers, but also a few stinkers.
For this challenge, Hero Story is more fun (especially the first few stages, after a reset), but also longer and harder.

Q: What are the hardest parts of each run?
A: Tails 2 and Eggman 2 are insane, very high chance of getting hit, right at the end of the run. It's so brutal.
Eternal Engine is a tricky level, as usual, and Meteor Herd can troll you with random meteors. Death Chamber and Crazy Gadget aren't easy either.
Dark Story is easier, but Final Chase and Sonic 2 right at the end are rough due to nerves.

Q: Why are you playing on the GCN version instead of the PC version?
A: Purely emotional reasons, no logic behind it. I want to No Hit this version, that's just how I feel. Sorry about the lower graphical quality. =P

Q: Why are you playing with Japanese voice acting?
A: Because I'm a massive weeb.

Q: You seem to be going for A-Ranks. Why?
A: ;)

Q: Are you commiting to this grind?
A: I'd really like to complete these challenges, but I don't have the time at the moment to learn, practice, and grind these runs for hours and hours at a time. Eventually, hopefully.
