  1. Q: What is PotD?
  2. A: PotD is Palace of the Dead, which is a Deep Dungeon in FFXIV. It can be ran as a party or solo.
  3.
  4. Q: What is Necromancer?
  5. A: Necromancer is a title you obtain when you complete PotD solo. It is considered the hardest solo challenge in the entire game.
  6.
  7. Q: How many floors does PotD require to clear?
  8. A: To get the Necromancer title, you must clear all 200 floors without wiping once, solo.
  9.
  10. Q: What is a deep dungeon exactly?
  11. A: Deep dungeons are randomly generated rooms with enemies and traps. You can collect treassure along the way, which you can use to aid your journey through the floors. Every 10th floor is a boss encounter. The enemies that can be found on each floor are consistent, and so are the bosses.
  12.
  13. Q: Which class are you playing?
  14. A: I am playing Warrior. A tank class I picked because it is my main job in the game, the job I am the most comfortable with, in terms of rotations and utility and does good damage, whilst having a broad toolbox of mitigation and self heal. It is considered a top tier job for Palace of the Dead, but not the fastest, given the inherent lack of damage output.
  15.
  16. Q: Is time a real issue?
  17. A: Yes. On the earlier floors (1-150) the time is less of a challenge, but as you encounter stronger and more tankier enemies, you need to actively keep an eye on your timer. Timing out is considered the same as wiping, and your run will be over.
  18.
  19. Q: Why is your decision making so bad?
  20. A: Experience mostly. I think I am getting a decent idea of when to use poms and such, but I need to be better at picking the right fights and using my poms more optimally.
