PERSONALITY | Namu is a bit of a diva. He can be really sassy and tells it like it is. He is also very strategic and will do whatever it takes to win the game (well… within reason, he won’t be a total jerk to win). Sometimes he gets too competitive and caught up in the competition, and takes it too seriously. He has a lot of charisma and charm, and also has a lot of aegyo. Even though he is competitive, he loves to make friends with the other boys. He enjoys making others smile and laugh, and has a knack for variety. People often call him out for acting too “feminine” and being “rude”, but that is just how he acts and he tells it like it is. He is the shyest marshmallow around girls. Being one of the younger trainees in the competition, he looks up to the older boys a lot. He also uses his status as the maknae/one of the maknaes to his advantage, being able to make his hyungs cater to his every need with his youthful charm.

BACKGROUND | Cheon Namu was born on September 18, 2001 in Nagasaki, Japan to Korean parents. He was an only child. They moved back to Seoul when Namu was 1. His father died of cancer when Namu was 5 years old, and it was a very tough time for Namu and his mom. When he was 8, he and his mom moved to Los Angeles, USA, which is where he grew up, and he was given the English Name “Ryan Cheon”. Namu’s father loved to sing and play piano, so Namu vowed to sing in his dad’s honour, and because Namu had a gift for music himself. His mom was a good pianist as well, and taught him how to play piano well. When Namu was 14, he decided to attend the S.M. Entertainment Global Audition In Los Angeles, in an attempt to become a singer in Korea, something his dad had longed to do but never got the chance to.
