  1. It was a woman… probably. Probably a woman, taller than any of them squatting in a circle and completely covered in bulky, bronze armor. Including her helm which only had a Y-shaped slit for her eyes and mouth. Not that it would be easy to even reach her face past her impressively large pauldrons. And if that wasn’t enough, she also had a cannon, a whole cannon, strapped to her back by some complex wooden lattice/harness.
  2.
  3. Despite asking, bold and loud, for space, she pushed right past the four of them without a second thought, and walked through the cave’s entrance.
  4.
  5. Robin followed to stop her, just far enough to be seen in the entrance.
  6.
  7. “Hey!” the woman in armor yelled out.
  8.
  9. The dragon looked up from its meal. It growled deep. “Who the fuck are you?”
  10.
  11. “I’m here to kill you,” she said as if that was an answer. And as she spoke, she pulled the cannon from off her back and slipped it over her right arm. The wooden latticework now functioning as a grip and handle for dull green iron.
  12.
  13. Robin, unable to get a single thought out, could only watch as she lifted the cannon, as if it weighed as much as a crossbow, aim dead on the creature, and then pulled at the structure that her grip was held on.
  14.
  15. There was a deafening explosion, Robin tumbled backwards and landed on his ass. The cannon did what cannons do, fired a cannonball. And the dragon now held it right in front of his chest. Still smoking.
  16.
  17. He dropped it to his feet, where it landed with an intense thud.
  18.
  19. “You might as well have shot yourself,” he said. “Cause I’m about to kill every last one of you.”
