  10.  
  11. This pack does not require the prior installation of any other external dependencies - it is completely standalone.
  12.  
  13. 1. Ensure OMSI 2 is closed / not running.
  14.  
  15. 2. Delete or move the following folder out of your OMSI 2 Folder:

  19. 3. Copy & paste the contents of the "OMSI 2" folder of this archive into your OMSI 2 installation folder, and click "Replace the files in the destination" if prompted.

  35. This pack includes one or more easy-installation option(s) which allow you to customise the included content to your liking. Included options:

  37. - Disable passenger conversation sounds: Removes all ambient passenger conversation / talking sounds that play as passengers enter the bus. (option disabled by default)

  39. - Enable or disable smooth steering wheel animation: Smoothens the steering wheel animation for keyboard, mouse & controller users. See the included preview for more info (option disabled by default).

  112. All documentation including manuals and developer tools & information can be found in the "Volvo B7TL ALX400 Multipack Enhanced" folder within the "Documents" folder of your OMSI 2 root directory.

  114. Mirror types:
  115. - The mirror type setvar in this pack has been changed from the original bus, so that any new repaints which have this setvar set, ignore the value and use the default mirrors.
  116. - This is because, if the mirror setvar is set in the .cti, the click-to-change mirror type system will break, and clicking the mirrors will not change them to the next type.
  117. - This issue is documented in detail here: https://github.com/unorthodox-paradox/omsi_2_csb_ai_enhancements/issues/87
  118. - So, don't try and set the new mirror type setvar in the .cti file of your repaints.

  120. Old repaints created for Alpha v9.6:
  121. - This bus pack is based on the Volvo B7TL ALX400 by V3D, which was released to the public in Alpha stages as v9.6 for around a year.
  122. - Later, it was released as a Stable version v1.02 on fellowsfilm.com.
  123. - With this, the repaint template was changed - handrails were moved into the body repaint template instead of being in a separate one
  124. - And, the position and size of the front and rear badges was changed, meaning that existing repaints need to have their "bake" (small shadow of the badges) updated
  125. - However, as there were not many new features introduced from Alpha v9.6 --> Stable v1.02 release of this bus, and that some other OMSI communities are unaware of the update,
  126. - Repaints for Alpha v9.6 of this bus are still created today, or developers have not had a chance to update them. These do not appear correctly in-game with this pack, by default.
  127. - However, in this pack I have added new setvars to accommodate for this (see the "Fixes" part of the "Information & Credits" section below for more info)
  128. - So, if you do encounter Alpha v9.6 repaints that do not appear correctly in-game, simply add the following lines to the bottom of the .cti file in Vehicles\V3D - Volvo B7TL - ALX400\Texture\Repaints:

  154. - Unfortunately, because of the sheer number of variants, it was necessary to rename all .bus files from the original, so that they better reflect their specifications and appear in alphabetical order in-game.
  155. - This means that all custom map "AI Lists" (maps\mapname\ailists.cfg) that refer to this bus will require the following changes:

  166. <<< Known issues & common troubleshooting >>>

  168. - If the engine cooling fan has over-emphasised stereo i.e. it sounds abnormally off centre in the rear left, centre & right lower and upper deck passenger views;
  169.  
  170. 1. Press ESC (Escape) on your keyboard.
  171. 2. Click on "Options".
  172. 3. Click on the "Sound" tab.
  173. 4. Drag the "Stereo Effect" slider all the way to the left, so that the value is 0.
  174. 5. Click on OK.
  175. 6. Click on "Back to the game"
  176.  
  177. - When using the external (F3) camera view, sometimes you might find that the cooling fan bugs out a little and doesn't play at the right times.
  178. Unfortunately, this cannot be fixed, as it is a core issue with OMSI 2's game engine.
  179. A quick and easy solution is to stop the bus fully until the fan stops playing (0mph) then continue again.
  180.  
  181. - Cash (coins & notes) float when passengers place them on the ticket sales area of the cab door.
  182. This is an issue with the original base bus itself, and we do not have the required knowledge to understand what causes this and how to fix it.
  183. It may, however, be looked into for a future update of this pack.

  186. <<< FAQ >>>
  187.  
  188. Q: Why did you replace the mirror type setvar with a click-to-change system instead?
  189. A: It is highly unlikely that developers will implement setvars for the new mirror options in this pack in their repaints, as it is unofficial.
  190. Thus, users who would like to try them must open the .cti file for the repaint they are using, and add the mirrors.
  191. Not only is this hard to do / understand for newer players, but it also requires a game reload if that repaint was spawned already, which can take several minutes.
  192. That, and once you have spawned the repaint, you cannot change the mirror type without reloading the game or using another repaint.
  193. Thus, implementing the ability to click the mirrors in-game to change them makes it easy, quick & accessible for all users.

  195. Q: Why is the option to toggle the nearside tree-bar in the same linked to the mirror type? Surely this is just more effort to use?
  196. A: Because of the way the model files of the original bus are setup, the mirror arms and the near-side treebar are part of the same model file.
  197. Separating this would be a lot of effort, and unnecessary, since if the tree-bar could only be toggled by clicking it and nothing else,
  198. you wouldn't be able to restore the tree-bar without reloading the bus, as there would be no tree-bar to click!

  200. Q: Wait - this is just the base bus, with basically all public mods for it put in, and a few tweaks and fixes? What's the point of this pack?
  201. A: We compiled this pack for two main reasons: enhancing the bus to its best potential, to create the best experience and make the most of superb modelling by V3D,
  202. and ease-of-use for newbies. Most of the integrated mods required fixes as they were made for an old alpha version of the bus.
  203. These were either never updated for the stable release, or removed. Fixing them also requires knowledge of OMSI 2's inner workings, a waste of time for a new player.
  204. On top of this, the more in-depth mods (e.g. soundsets & destination displays) lacked the variants to allow for any combination of soundset, destination display & engine HP.
  205. This is yet more work needed... you get the picture. Lots of (exceptionally high quality) repaints created for the alpha version were never updated either, and this can't be left to waste.
  206. The one result from this pack is - it includes every mod out there, all ready to use out the box in one click, with many quality improvements here and there to ensure the best experience.

  320. - Renamed in-game name of custom Grundorf depot ".hof" file by V3D (included with original bus) , to reflect the fact it has multiple pages which automatically cycle, and included copy of stock depot ".hof" file.
  321. - Renamed in-game name of & updated directory structure of Dublin bus AV repaint by Eamons85 to avoid conflict with Dublin Bus repaint by LX7
  322. - Eamons85 Dublin bus AV repaint custom interior advert is now part of the repaint as a CTCTexture, instead of replacing default files.
  323. - KMB Gold repaint now no longer uses unrealistic white lightmap as default seat body textures, but uses default dark grey seat bodies instead.
