➸ | BACKGROUND: jiao was born in hong kong where she lived with her parents until she was five years old. her parents picked up and moved to sydney australia, where her younger brother, jing was born. jiao attended school in australia, and grew up speaking English at school and cantonese at home. her parents were always busy, as her father was a businessman, and her mother was taking university courses to become a chef, however jiao still managed to build a stable relationship with them. she was also fiercely protective of her younger brother, feeling that she needed to protect him from the horrible world. when she was sixteen, her father was transferred to korea, so they all moved there with him. due never speaking korean in her life, jiao struggled with school there, but took a liking to her art classes, because she didn't need to remember all the language rules and write papers as often as she would for other subjects, which is what led to her taking it as a major. she also chose to major in english, because she thought it would make her look smarter.

➸ | PERSONALITY: jiao likes to consider herself an optimist. she will always look on the bright side, and is never ever seen without a smile on her face (unless she's drunk, because that's a totally different story). she is very talkative, and likes to talk a lot, even though her korean language skills still aren't the best, because she only started learning the language recently. she is the type of person that wants to be friends with everyone, often pushing herself in the different sort of friendship groups, even when people don't like her, because she absolutely cannot understand that some people just don't like her, because she thinks that everyone should be friends with everyone. this is sometimes a flaw, because she can always see the best in people, and it can lead to people trying to use her. a lot of people find her talkativeness and friendliness extremely annoying. however, if she embarrasses herself in front of someone, she will stop trying to talk to them and will avoid them like the plague, because despite being the happy person she is, she doesn't like confrontation. she is the type of person to ignore a problem until it goes away, which isn't exactly a good thing.

➸ | HIS PERSONALITY: he acts like his normal self, and is always a bright and happy person, which is sort of why they both get along really well, because they both like to make others feel happy and smile a lot.

➸ | FIRST INTERACTION: she started asking him about the weather in cantonese, but he couldn't understand her, so he kind of just stared at her blankly. however, then she burst into tears and started talking in slurred korean, upset because the bartender had given all of her friends their drinks first, and left hers until last. in all honesty, he thought she was a total psycho until he realised she was drunk.

➸ | FIRST IMPRESSIONS: well, she liked him, because he was comforting her while she was blubbering on about the bartender and the weather, whilst most other people would've chosen that as a sign to run as far away as possible. however, none of this was really running through her head, because she was still extremely drunk. at first he thought she was a psycho, but when he realised that she was dunk, he sort of found her blubbering cute, and decided to try and cheer her up because he didn't like to see her crying. he didn't seem to realise when she started hitting on him, because she was doing it in cantonese, and he couldn't really understand most of what was coming out of her mouth.

➸ | HOW DOES SHE ACT AROUND HIM: to be honest, she was rather embarrassed after finding out what had happened while she was drunk, so at first she tried to pretend she couldn't speak korean, and acted like a confused tourist. however, he already knew that she could speak korean and wasn't buying it. when he keeps trying to talk to her, she slowly starts to open up to him a bit more, which makes her feel more comfortable around him. after that point, she's pretty much her bubbly self, always smiling. however, she does try to tone it down a little bit, because she doesn't want to scare him off.

➸ | HOW DOES HE ACT AROUND HER: he is pretty much twice as happy around her, and tends to gravitate towards her whenever they're in the same room. he is also slightly protective over her, which mostly comes from seeing how emotional she gets while drunk, and most of the time he does it without realising it. however, at the beginning, he's still slightly awkward as he doesn't know her very well, but is determined to keep talking to her, even though she pretends not to know how to speak korean. when she finally stops pretending they become a lot closer, and are somewhat friends, which leads to him being slightly weirder than he was to start with, because he's much more comfortable with her.
