  8. [22:01] <Tangent> The apartment's quiet and dark in the early morning. It's still all but pitch black. Somewhere, a radiator is gurgling to itself, and there's the occasional muffled noise from outside...but on the whole, it's too early to be noisy.
  9. [22:01] <Tangent> There's a clunk, and a high-pitched yelp of pain, accompanied by a few hissed, half formed words as someone stumbles in the dark. Amelia's stubbed her foot on a chair. "Ow..Stupid...Gah..." She finds the chair in the dark and holds onto it, hopping on one foot.
  10. [22:07] <@Jran-Kri> Somewhere in the apartment, a faint, harsh giggling can be heard. A moment later, Kreimhild appears from down the hall, padding softly. While she's untransformed, she's already dressed in a dirty white shirt and black jeans. There's a leering, amused smile on her face, and her eyes seem as if they're all pupil -- though that must be the light.
  11. [22:07] <@Jran-Kri> "What does the bluebird want, up so early?" She asks in what might have been a sing-song voice were it not for the gravel she must have just gargled.
  12. [22:16] <Tangent> Amelia's still in the ill-fitting T-shirt and rolled up pants she had on last night. The logo on the shirt's faded...but she's pretty sure there's no Disneyland called "Borealis". Not here, anyway. She glares at roughly where she thinks Kreim is-her having about half a foot on her and glowing eyes helps there- and holds her foot for a moment longer before letting it drop and straightening. "Hmmph."
  13. [22:17] <Tangent> She notes that Kreimhild has another nickname for her- seriously, bluebird?!- but it's not actively insulting and it's too early in the morning for this. She's still not quite used to "Amelia". "Morning to you too." She grumbles. "I was looking for the bathroom. Didn't know you had all this stuff lying around."
  14. [22:19] <@Jran-Kri> Kreimhild chuckles darkly. For some reason, that last comment amused her.
  15. [22:20] <@Jran-Kri> "Oh, you should have seen my old lair," she reminisces fondly. "Now *there* was 'stuff.'"
  16. [22:20] <@Jran-Kri> She lifts a pale arm, flicking it down the hall, back the way she came.
  17. [22:21] <@Jran-Kri> "The bathroom is that way. Do not slip. I dislike cleaning messes."
  18. [22:26] <Tangent> Lair. Right...monstergirl. Amelia looks at Kreim for a moment- even if she has to crane her neck to meet her eyes, then nods. "Wouldn't dream of it...thanks." She says, gingerly picking her way along. She hesitates for a moment as she comes closer to Kreimhild...then brushes by her.
  19. [22:29] <@Jran-Kri> Kreimhild is stock still for a moment, watching you go. She seems to tense as you pass by her, but continues down the hall without further ado, headed in the direction Alexa slinked off in last night instead of the door. She calls over her shoulder:
  20. [22:29] <@Jran-Kri> "If you need anything, I will be on the roof." And then is gone.
  21. [22:47] <Tangent> Amelia exhales quietly once she's gone, looking to the empty living room for a moment longer, then shakes her head. She makes it there without any more furniture encounters. Her hand finds the light switch chain, and she's bathed in sickly yellow light from the bare bulb. The water's cold as she splashes it on her face. She looks up from the chipped sink. The ceiling fan whirs.
  22. [22:47] <Tangent> The girl in the mirror's bleary-eyed and looks vaguely disgruntled, her dark hair disheveled and falling into her aquamarine eyes. Her thin lips are drawn into a frown. There's a faint red mark on her forehead. Amelia shakes her head and looks down. Another splash.
  23. [22:51] <Tangent> When she's done, she picks her way back down the hallway, hair faced and face slightly red from the cold water. She's much more alert now. She pauses. Well, Kreim's awake...and at this time of day...Guess it's the roof.
  24. [22:56] <@Jran-Kri> The way to the roof is relatively obvious. Just outside the room and down the hall lies a somewhat makeshift-looking door with "Roof Access" stenciled onto a plaque nailed to the centre. It appears quite recently added. Through this is a ladder that leads to a manhole to the roof. While ascending, it's possible to hear Kreimhild speaking -- and Alexa responding.
  25. [22:56] <@Jran-Kri> "... Interesting. Where did you say you found this?" Kreimhild's rough voice is clear.
  26. [22:57] <@Jran-Kri> "Th-the overcity. Hunting. W-with, um--" Alexa's more hesitant one slightly less so.
  27. [22:57] <@Jran-Kri> "Aah, the bluebird?" Kreimhild sounds amused. "Ha-ha. Bluebird and redcoat."
  28. [22:59] <@Jran-Kri> "Anyway. Keep this," Kreimhild insists. "It can be... quite helpful. I can sense that you would take very well to it."
  29. [22:59] <@Jran-Kri> "Now!" A note of finality. "Think fast!"
  30. [23:00] <Tangent> "Wasn't I 'blue girl' last night?" Amelia chips in as she climbs up the last rung. "Hey, Alexa...Morning!" She smiles at her friend as she clambers up.
  31. [23:00] <Tangent> (Oh DEREP, sorry, disregard)
  32. [23:02] <Tangent> "Wasn't I 'blue girl' last night?" Amelia chips in as she climbs up the last rung.
  33. [23:02] <Tangent> *last few rungs
  34. [23:03] <@Jran-Kri> Amelia clambers up the ladder at a very strange moment; Kreimhild is pointing the long, black coachgun from last night at Alexa, who is cowering behind a hastily erected red fortification. The pair of them are staring at Amelia with some surprise before Kreimhild grins.
  35. [23:04] <@Jran-Kri> "Yes! Yes you were! Congratulations on your promotion!" The German says cheerfully.
  36. [23:06] <Tangent> "Hi, Ale-eh?!" She almost falls off the ladder. "Wait, what the hell are you doing?" The gun. The gun. For a moment, in panic, she tries to draw on her magic. That gets her a mental...ping and what she can only describe as a magical 404. Magic not found. "Why are you...pointing that gun at..."
  37. [23:07] <Tangent> *ladder as she hears Kreimhild's greeting and sees the odd scene
  38. [23:08] <@Jran-Kri> There is a pregnant pause as Kreimhild glances down at the coachgun as if struggling to comprehend what Amelia's problem with it is. After a second, her face lights up, and she jiggles it meaningfully.
  39. [23:09] <@Jran-Kri> "Testing her reflexes!" Kreimhild announces, like it's the most natural thing in the world. She nods at the barrier. "The redcoat, as you can see, has decent ones! Though you may have helped her -- distracting me. Noisy bluebird."
  40. [23:10] <Tangent> "It's Amelia." Amelia mumbles. "B-but, you're...wait, you're not SHOOTING at her, are you?" She pulls herself up, still not sure if she should be alarmed or confused. Right now, she's both. She glances to Alexa, hoping she can make sense of this.
  41. [23:13] <@Jran-Kri> "Well of course I am!" Kreimhild scoffs. "These are mundane rounds -- no magic. This barrier should not even twitch!"
  42. [23:13] <@Jran-Kri> She shakes her head mournfully.
  43. [23:13] <@Jran-Kri> "Once, I had enchanted munitions. Those were the days. One day, when I have them again, I will shoot you with those. That will be a good day."
  44. [23:14] <@Jran-Kri> "... Shoot *at* me," Alexa corrects nervously. "Y-you mean shoot *at* me. See, because shoot me implies you'll, um... hit me."
  45. [23:14] <@Jran-Kri> "Of course I will," Kreimhild seems confused. "I am a very good shot."
  46. [23:17] <Tangent> "...I. Uh. No offense but you-you're...um...kind of crazy." Amelia's staring at her, then manages to tear her gaze away and glance to Alexa. "Um...you okay?"
  47. [23:18] <@Jran-Kri> Kreimhild merely scoffs, while Alexa grins crookedly and nods.
  48. [23:19] <@Jran-Kri> "O-oh, don't worry. She's, um -- she's actually right," she giggles almost silently. "I-I've actually been shot with, um, magical bullets -- by a friend, n-not, you know, live. It's not so bad!"
  49. [23:19] <@Jran-Kri> "... Blocking, I mean. I-I haven't gotten hit by one."
  50. [23:23] <Tangent> "I..." Well, she's been gutted yesterday, so it's not like she's in any place to complain about magic-associated risk taking. "If you say so..." She says, dubiously. "I mean, if you're okay with this...Um...So how long have you been...training?" She glances between the two, still looking vaguely baffled.
  51. [23:24] <@Jran-Kri> "Um, well... Pretty much since I-- We, uh, came to our... arrangement," Alexa flicks her head down, at the apartment, in case it wasn't clear. Kreimhild chuckles.
  52. [23:25] <@Jran-Kri> "It is necessary," the German assures her with a nod. "New girls cannot be left to figure these things out -- too dangerous. No, need a falcon to take them under their wing. Much safer."
  53. [23:29] <Tangent> "Oh..." then she looks to Kreimhild, brow furrowing. She's...teaching Alexa. For a given value of teaching. "So... is there anything I can do? To help, I mean, if you guys are training..."
  54. [23:31] <@Jran-Kri> "Hmm..." Kreimhild contemplates her, frowning thoughtfully. She reaches up, adjusting the Stahlhelm of her magical girl attire. Snapping her fingers, a broad smile bursts across her face.
  55. [23:32] <@Jran-Kri> "What weapon do you carry?"
  56. [23:35] <Tangent> "A sword." Amelia smirks. She reaches across her stomach to her hip with one arm, and tugs at thin air in a drawing motion. There's a flicker of blue flame, and the twilight gloom is suddenly thrown into harsh relief as she pulls her blade from thin air. "I'm not sure what kind it is...I think it's a saber or something, but those are supposed to be curved, right?" She holds the blade out and up at an angle.
  57. [23:36] <Tangent> The silvery metal blade is a good portion of her height, with a pure, blue-white aura around it that flickers silently.
  58. [23:37] <@Jran-Kri> Kreimhild seems more than pleased. Her eyes follow the blade lasciviously, and she clasps her hands together like a swooning girl. She nods eagerly.
  59. [23:38] <@Jran-Kri> "Perfect, perfect!" She says, fumbling as the rifle begins to slide out of the awkward grip her elbow has it in. Grabbing hold of it, she backs up a few paces, gesturing at Alexa. "Now! I have no weapon of my own, only my fists -- I would like you to strike her. She must learn to handle a sabre."
  60. [23:40] <Tangent> The aura falters and flickers. "Ehhh? Um...Right..." She looks to Alexa, her grip on the sword suddenly awkward as she looks at her friend.
  61. [23:42] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa seems just as nervous, but resolute. She crouches behind the barrier even as it solidifies and widens, the bright glow of her staff intensifying.
  62. [23:42] <Tangent> "Um, ready?" Amelia asks her, raising her sword a bit.
  63. [23:43] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa nods shortly. Her smile looks more lopsided than usual.
  64. [23:45] <Tangent> "I...okay, then! Incoming." Her sword strike's telegraphed, and it's with a bare blade- an awkward and pulled swing that bounces off unceremoniously. Amelia stands there awkwardly, looking at the barrier and Alexa.
  65. [23:45] <Tangent> *"Here it comes!"
  66. [23:45] <Tangent> Her first strike had all the force of a rolled up newspaper.
  67. [23:46] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa clearly braced herself for a much more forceful strike; she untenses herself, blinking up at Amelia. Kreimhild groans and covers her eyes with her hands.
  68. [23:47] <@Jran-Kri> "Strike her!" Kreimhild barks. "Harder! Advance! Harry her!"
  69. [23:48] <Tangent> "Ah...Sorry." Amelia shifts nervously. "I did!" She calls back. "Um...Yeah, again?" She pulls her sword back into position, and takes up a stance, giving Alexa plenty of time to prepare before chopping again. There's little fire to it, but this time it's a much more solid- if slightly held-back strike.
  70. [23:50] <Tangent> The blade sings through the air from side to side. Left. Right. Left. Right. She bashes away at the barrier. Out of transformation, Amelia quickly finds her arms growing tired...but keeps going, even if the blade wobbles a bit.
  71. [23:52] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa's first barrier doesn't wobble, though the girl herself reacts, however slightly. As the strikes continue coming, the barriers blink in and out of existence, meeting the blows as they come. Kreimhild is pacing around the two of them, analyzing their form with a sharp frown.
  72. [23:53] <@Jran-Kri> "Alexa, do not give ground," she commands as she notices the red mage beginning to back away. "Amelia, strike harder! Faster!"
  73. [23:54] <Tangent> "I am!" She grumbles back, but listens. She keeps bashing, then grips the hilt with both hands despite it clearly not being designed for it...and swings it around like a baseball bat into Alexa's barrier.
  74. [00:00] <@Jran-Kri> The sudden increase in force clearly takes Alexa off-guard; the barrier in question wobbles from the impact, but does not give. Alexa halts, eyes lingering on that barrier. Kreimhild sees, too, and heaves a heavy sigh.
  75. [00:01] <@Jran-Kri> "For God's sake -- I must ask now. Is that a very strange outfit, or are you untransformed?"
  76. [00:03] <Tangent> Amelia frowns and stops, letting her sword arm drop to her side. She's still in the T-shirt and oversized jeans. "I...Oh. Right." A defensive wince. "I...I should probably...transform. Yeah." She takes a step away from Alexa, and takes a deep breath.
  77. [00:09] <Tangent> "I knew that..."
  78. [00:09] <Tangent> The words come naturally to her lips as she holds the sword vertically in front of her. A snap of her wrist, and the blade arcs to point at the ground. "Justice is a fire that can never be put out!" She declares loudly.
  79. [00:09] <Tangent> She turns on her ankle, in a parade-ground movement. Streaks of blue flame crackle around her, licking away at her clothes and shrouding her in blue-white light as they intensify.
  80. [00:09] <Tangent> "I, Flaming Ace Paladin Amelia..." She blurts in a rush as she finishes her spin, drawing a circle around herself with the blade. Runes glow in the half-light, becoming brighter, and she feels the pristine cloth of her uniform materialize around her.
  81. [00:09] <Tangent> She raises her sword arm, and straightens as her boots follow. "...will burn away all evil in this world!"
  82. [00:10] <Tangent> Now in uniform, she lowers her sword again to half-point downwards as she looks back to Alexa and Kreim. "Okay, ready now." She announces brightly. That's much better.
  83. [00:13] <@Jran-Kri> Kreimhild grins, clasping her hands together in eagerness. She nods approvingly. Then, with a conductor's flourish, she gestures at Alexa, who seems quite impressed by the display.
  84. [00:13] <@Jran-Kri> "Do your duty, lady knight," Kreimhild invites. Alexa gulps. Her barrier glows brighter.
  85. [00:17] <Tangent> She nods. Amelia grins at her. "Ready for round 2?" She asks Alexa, offering a reassuring smile, then flicks her sword into a ready position. A moment later, she lunges forward, raising the sword then bringing it crashing down like a blue meteor. One hammer blow, then another on the return stroke. There's more power to her blows now.
  86. [00:18] <Tangent> There's little elegance to her attacks, but even holding back, she's putting definite force into her strikes now.
  87. [00:20] <Tangent> And even focusing on Alexa, she can feel the tug her magic's exerting on her. To Kreimhild.
  88. [00:20] <Tangent> She ignores it.
  89. [00:21] <@Jran-Kri> The shift in Alexa's posture is immediately apparent. Whereas before it was only her nerves pushing her back, now the force of Amelia's blows sends her stumbling, much as Kreimhild barks for her to stand her ground. The red disks flash into life mere milliseconds before the blade reaches them, and warp from the force of it; but she shows no signs of wanting to stop.
  90. [00:23] <Tangent> Amelia slows down a bit as Alexa stumbles...but keeps swinging after a moment, albeit a touch more hesitantly.
  91. [00:28] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa recovers quickly enough, squaring her legs into a wide, stable base and bringing her staff down against the roof. The crystal ball shines like a fiery ruby as the barriers spring into life. Pacing around them like a tiger, Kreimhild seems displeased.
  92. [00:28] <@Jran-Kri> "Faster! Harder!"
  93. [00:32] <Tangent> "Yeah, I know!" Amelia spring back on the offense, going back to battering away at the barriers. She batters away at the same spot again and again, blade gleaming and leaving a blue afterimage with each swing.
  94. [00:37] <@Jran-Kri> Under the protracted onslaught, the singular barrier Alexa conjures up in front of her begins to give. A spider web crack spreads along its surface from the point of impact, as if the hard light construct were made of glass. Gritting her teeth, her staff brightens, and the barrier tightens and manages to hold.
  95. [00:43] <Tangent> Amelia's getting frustrated, and her restraint's bleeding away. She swings the sword back, and when she bring it around, it's the hilt she slams into the weak spot. Intense, controlled tendrils of blue fire eat away at the barrier.
  96. [00:45] <@Jran-Kri> In the process, a distinct weakness of Alexa's barriers is discovered: they were clearly designed specifically to guard against physical attacks. With a cry, she retreats as the barrier crumbles apart from the flames. She hurriedly props up another barrier of a slightly different shade of red -- this one a shade of pink -- to keep back the flames.
  97. [00:45] <@Jran-Kri> Kreimhild applauds.
  98. [00:45] <@Jran-Kri> "That will be enough!"
  99. [00:46] <Tangent> Amelia falters and hastily drops her sword. The flames die out instantly. "You okay?" She asks. "You...didn't get burned, right? I mean...the sword wasn't working so..." She babbles.
  100. [00:48] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa glances down at herself; sure enough, her outfit is unharmed. The barrier cuts out. She nods sheepishly.
  101. [00:49] <@Jran-Kri> "Ah... Y-yes, I'm, um, fine. That was- that was really something!"
  102. [00:50] <@Jran-Kri> "I hope you have learned something from this," Kreimhild rumbles. There is a wide grin on her face, like hooks are tugging at the corners of her mouth. "You must anticipate your opponent's attack, and arrange your defense to meet it. They will not try the same thing until they die of exhaustion."
  103. [00:53] <Tangent> She...hadn't actually known she could do that. She'd just lost her temper. But she's not going to admit that right now...
  104. [00:54] <@Jran-Kri> "That said," Kreimhild turns to Amelia, her grin unchanging. "Bluebird took her time in innovating. Avoid tunnel vision. Very dangerous."
  105. [01:03] <Tangent> "Hey, swording stuff's worked out for me so far...Most of the time..." She grumbles, but nods reluctantly. She glances down at her sword. That...she can't wait to try that trick out again. A smile tugs at her lips at the thought of setting the last two monsters on fire...then she looks up. "Got it." She says, breezily, then looks to Alexa. "Hey, your barriers there were pretty awesome...I couldn't get past them at all!" She gives her a thumbs up. "Nice one."
  106. [01:08] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa giggles with her, slightly nervously. She adjusts her mantle, and then her hat, both of which having been knocked askew in the scuffle. She half-bows.
  107. [01:09] <@Jran-Kri> "It-it seems I still have a bit to learn," she admits, leaning casually on her staff. "Nice, um... 'swording,' though. Very impressive."
  108. [01:13] <Tangent> Amelia brings her sword up in a lazy salute, then dismisses it in a crackle of smoke. "Thanks, thanks, you weren't too bad yourself..." She cheers, all smiles. The first rays of dawn are creeping higher, distant light illuminating the overcity. There's the sound of the first traffic of the day.
  109. [01:13] <Tangent> *puff of
  110. [01:19] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa hums, pleased. She straightens out, swishing her mantle and peering over the lip of the roof, into the city below. A wistful look crosses her face for a moment, and she narrows her eyes as if looking for something. Then she turns on her heel back to the two of them.
  111. [01:19] <@Jran-Kri> "So! Who's for breakfast?"
  112. [01:24] <Tangent> "Ah..." Amelia starts. A gurgling noise from her stomach, and she blushes. "Breakfast...um...sounds pretty good, actually."
  113. [01:26] <@Jran-Kri> Kreimhild thinks for a moment, then shakes her head. She turns, facing the city.
  114. [01:27] <@Jran-Kri> "I will be fine. You two enjoy," she flicks her hand dismissively. Alexa shrugs, grinning at Amelia and marching for the ladder.
  115. [01:27] <@Jran-Kri> "More for us, then."
  116. [01:33] <Tangent> "...Thanks." Amelia shrugs. She...does kind of need to find a way to pay Kreimhild back. She's kinda...weird and a monstergirl, but she is letting her stay and everything. Amelia puts it out of mind, and follows Alexa down.
  117. [01:36] <@Jran-Kri> As the two of them descend through the trapdoor, there is the sound of a fluttering of feathers, like a great bird taking flight. Then they're through, and the dull thrum of the apartment's machinery drowns everything out. Alexa tromps happily down the hall, cancelling her transformation. Her fanciful mantle gives way to a pink t-shirt and faded jeans that look like they were fished out of a Salvation Army bin.
  118. [01:39] <Tangent> Amelia follows, hands on her hips. She half-glances up at the noise...but looks to Alexa instead. "Hey, I've never seen YOUR transformation..." she teases. "I bet it's really coool~"
  119. [01:41] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa stumbles, her shoulders bunching up. Without the mantle inflating her profile, she looks even smaller. Her face turns a similar colour as her shirt as she giggles.
  120. [01:41] <@Jran-Kri> "O-oh, it's, um, you know -- it's a normal t-transformation. Nothing really remarkable about it."
  121. [01:44] <Tangent> Amelia's still in uniform- she doesn't really want to drop it with what she's wearing underneath...and besides, she likes how it feels. "Hmm?" She tilts her head, grinning at her friend remorselessly.
  122. [01:45] <Tangent> "I find that hard to believe~"
  123. [01:48] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa sighs, scuffing her heel on the carpeted floor. She turns back, crossing her arms.
  124. [01:48] <@Jran-Kri> "... I suppose you're bound to see it eventually," she says, resigned. "Y-you'll be disappointed if you're expecting... I don't know."
  125. [01:48] <@Jran-Kri> She clears her throat pointedly.
  126. [01:51] <Tangent> Amelia all but bounces in place as she watches, still smiling. She's still energized from the earlier sparring, and seems inordinately cheerful about something.
  127. [01:59] <@Jran-Kri> "Spirits of the glen, guide me swift and sure; that evil might fail and good endure!" She closed her eyes prior to the transformation; when they sprung open, they were alive with a bright red light. She twirls in place, as if dancing, and her hips roll as she lifts her hand to the sky. The twisted black wood of her staff forms in her hand, the crystal ball dropping out of the sky. Her feet begin an odd, rhythmic jig as h
  128. [01:59] <@Jran-Kri> her pants give way to white tights that crawl up her legs like a symbiote; when they reach her waste, a bright red skirt springs into being, followed shortly by her frilled pink blouse; the thick red mantle drifts out of nowhere, wrapping around her shoulders and sealing itself with a brooch. She twirls once more, grinding to a halt facing Amelia – and then the hat drifts out of nowhere, plopping onto her head just in time for her to pluck it off and drop into a low bow. "Magical Mysteriarch Alexa!" She trumpets, her self-consciousness momentarily gone as she rises back up, screwing the hat back onto her head."
  129. [02:04] <Tangent> Amelia returns the gesture, more of a bob of her head, then starts clapping. "Nice to meet you! Hey, I was right...that WAS pretty neat. The rhyme, the dancing...You can dance? Mine's just kind of waving a sword around for a bit...but yours...it kind of does everything that matters right off the bat, you know?" She blathers, cheer evident in her voice as she smiles at her friend. "I like it."
  130. [02:08] <@Jran-Kri> She seems oddly flattered; all the showmanship of the transformation vanishes as she turns back into her normal, awkward self, shuffling in place.
  131. [02:11] <@Jran-Kri> "U-uh, well, th-thank you," she says. Her blush has transformed, too; she's now as red as her mantle. "I-I mean, I can't really dance, just, um, you know. I can do that. U-uh, y-yours was fine, too, d-don't sell yourself sh-short."
  132. [02:12] <Tangent> "Hey, it was still pretty cool though...and thanks." Amelia nudges her friend. "Ah...sorry to make you go through that again, right before breakfast..." She looks a bit sheepish.
  133. [02:15] <@Jran-Kri> "O-oh, no, it's quite alright," she shakes her head, twirling on her heel and moseying back to the room. "Better before than after -- all that spinning might make me hurl."
  134. [02:16] <Tangent> "Ah...Yeah, I...that's a thing for magical...for us, isn't it? Wonder why...It's kind of weird, isn't it? I mean, spinning?"
  135. [02:17] <@Jran-Kri> "Well, ancient human, ah, wizards and witches and druids regarded the circle as the, ah, most effective geometrical conduit for magic," Alexa comments as she slips back into the apartment, propping open the door for Amelia. "Perhaps they weren't far off the mark, and the spinning helps... focus our magical energies. Or some such."
  136. [02:21] <Tangent> "So what you're saying is...we should try spinning next time we're in a fight?" Amelia jokes as she steps inside too. A nod to Alexa. "Ah, don't mind me, I get a bit weird when I'm hungry..."
  137. [02:23] <@Jran-Kri> "... Well, perhaps it's not that effective," she admits with a giggle. Ducking into the kitchen, she begins rifling through the cabinets. "Not to worry, soon be well... Do you like pancakes?"
  138. [02:25] <Tangent> "I...think so?" Amelia chews her lip, good cheer slipping away. "Ah...I...I'm not sure how to make them though..." She mutters, a bit shamefully. "I guess I'll follow your lead..."
  139. [02:30] <@Jran-Kri> "Oh, nonono," Alexa emphatically shakes her head as she pulls a box of pancake mix out of a cabinet. The kitchen is a short, narrow hallway -- at the other end appears to be a dining room. Alexa gesticulates in that direction. "Y-you're a guest. You sit, I'll take care of this."
  140. [02:31] <Tangent> "I should help though...you're letting me stay..."
  141. [02:32] <@Jran-Kri> Alexa shakes her head even more insistently.
  142. [02:33] <@Jran-Kri> "Nonono. You're a guest in my... Well, I mean, not my house -- but you're a guest. That means I take care of you. Basic hospitality."

  144. [02:37] <Tangent> Amelia sighs, her conviction coming to naught in the face of her red-clad friend's insistence. She nods. "I guess...but I'll do the washing up then."
