Bullets bounced off its steel body. One of its extended weapons tracked an LBV and fired a rocket. Its target exploded in a bright orange flash. Grunting, Blackshot aimed for its tires to its right side, striking at every ordnance launched at him by the Hellraiser's sentient weapon. Detonations and blasts surrounded him. Alacrity moved to the Demon's left flank and began his approach, parrying and striking at every explosive sent at his way. When the two came to a close, they struck its weapons down, disarming the Hellraiser. Blackshot and Alacrity held onto its arms and violently ripped it off, spilling blood to the pavement. They launched bright light inside the gaping wounds, destroying the Demon completely.

"Our target's up there, brothers!" Alacrity instructed.

The Protectorates flew towards Grunwald and Wilhelm while the LBVs pulverized the building with machinegun fire. Blood, fluids and glass fragments fell in a hail. One of the pilots inside were thankful for their protective cockpits.

With raised Burning Blades, they struck the colossal eyeballs, spraying more blood to the ground. Each thread of nerves lit up in red, dispensing blood from its wounds. The pupils frantically moved, tracking the flying Protectorates around it. Tentacles rose and attempted to catch one of its assailant midairs but failed in misery as Bladesaw stabbed Wilhelm in the center of its eye.

Ironblood tasted her first Hellkaiser kill as she drove the tip of her Burning Blade in the pupil of her target and ripped it apart with a downward force. Soon enough, the skyscrapers collapsed, along with the remains of the Hellkaisers.

"It served as a reminder that everything man-made will not last long," Blackshot muttered.

"And that from ashes man came, so too their creations shall eventually end up." Alacrity concluded.

Men, women and enhanced soldiers cheered at the sight of the Hellkaisers falling. The LBVs emerged victorious, fighting their way across dying Demon ranks. The psychic resonance caused by the death of their hive minds affected the Demons greatly that they ended up weakened to the point of death. Some Demons stood their ground and fought despite inevitable defeat but others thought better and retreated. Whichever decision they made, resistance was futile.

Blackshot glanced at the Mark IIs he assisted. He smiled behind his helmet, turned and walked away in silence. Ironblood saw him but simply let him go. His job was done and who knows what battles he needed to fight.

For Humanity and for their Legion. She remembered the battle cry in this hour of victory. It repeated in her mind like a sweet song stuck in someone's brain.

"Quis Ut Deus."
