  1. [bu]WIKI GUIDELINES
  2.
  3. [u]Fish Care Profiles
  4. [i]These wiki's are to inform on an animals care meant for captive keeping.
  5. - Information
  6. Provide everything needed to know about the animal which should at least include:
  7. Common and scientific name(s) of the fish (fish can have multiple common names while typically having one current scientific name)
  8. Minimum tank size (including volume and dimensions with conversions)
  9. Maximum size of fish (with conversions)
  10. Lifespan (list age range)
  11. Diet (omnivore, herbivore, etc.; include list of recommended foods (do not include bloodworms))
  12. Parameters (pH, gH, kH, salinity)
  13. Hardiness and/or difficulty of fish (is this fish good for beginner mistakes or better for experienced keepers)
  14. Behaviors (sociality, community compatibility, natural behaviors, etc.)
  15. Tank Set up (give example of preferred environment for fish: hides, substrate, planted or not, filtration, etc.)
  16. If you do not want to make your own template, the community already has [care templates|https://aminoapps.com/c/fish_amino/page/item-category/catalog-item-category-templates/b0k8_lEiVT8Mk4wKxjebxxgjvpm2rmb7rXcg] you are more than welcome to use.
  17. - Presentation
  18. Information should be formatted in an easy-to-read wiki. It is recommended to have a low-color, subtle background, titles and formation to separate differing topics of information, and use nice pictures (be aware: amino may lower photo quality).
  19. - Grammar
  20. The wiki should have little to no grammatical mistakes: misspelling, run-on's, improper punctuation, capitalization, etc.
  21. - Credibility
  22. Experience is useful, but we need to show credibility through trusted sources. We recommend 3-4 credible sources (this means no forums, sponsored blogs, etc.). For credible sources on animal care, here are some recommendations: [PlanetCatfish|https://www.planetcatfish.com/], [FishBase|https://www.fishbase.se/search.php], and [Seriously Fish|https://www.seriouslyfish.com/].
  23. - Plagiarism
  24. If you use information from a site or a picture that is not yours, you must credit the actual author.
  25. -Libel
  26. FKA will not accept any form of libelous statements. While we support the freedom of speech regarding reviews, all information negative toward a company or toward a brand needs to be backed with proper sources and founded data when making a point or statement. Anything viewed as an attack on a product or company will not be supported by this group.
  27.
  28. [u]Informational Posts
  29. [i]These wiki's typically are like a research paper to educate about a topic.
  30. - Information
  31. Try to provide all necessary subjects that relate to the topic. For example, making a wiki about goldfish diets, you'll want to include all aspects of that diet.
  32. - Presentation
  33. Information should be formatted in an easy-to-read wiki. It is recommended to have a low-color, subtle background, titles and formation to separate differing subjects of a topic, and use nice pictures if applicable (be aware: amino may lower photo quality).
  34. - Grammar
  35. The wiki should have little to no grammatical mistakes: misspelling, run-on's, improper punctuation, capitalization, etc.
  36. - Credibility
  37. Experience is useful, but we need to show credibility through trusted sources. We recommend 3-4 credible sources (this means no forums, sponsored blogs, etc.).
  38. - Plagiarism
  39. If you use information from a site or a picture that is not yours, you must credit the actual author. For example, if you quote a source, you'll need to state what source you quoted. Another example, if you paraphrase/summarize from another source, you'll need to state what source you paraphrased/summarized from.
  40. -Libel
  41. FKA will not accept any form of libelous statements. While we support the freedom of speech regarding reviews, all information negative toward a company or toward a brand needs to be backed with proper sources and founded data when making a point or statement. Anything viewed as an attack on a product or company will not be supported by this group.

  43. [u]Curation Process
  44. [i]Stated below is the process in which wiki's will or will not be approved for the Official Wiki.
  45. 1. After ensuring your wiki fits the guidelines, search for "Submit to the Wiki" option by clicking the three dots in the upper right corner of a wiki. Once submitted, the Revision Team will review the wiki.
  46. 2. If any critiques are applicable, the author will be privately messaged by a Revision Team member with said critiques. Once critiques have been stated, the author has a 72 hour period they will need to apply critiques. If critiques are not applied, the wiki will be denied of curation and possibly removed.
  47. 3. If critiques are not applicable or have been successfully applied, the wiki will be approved for curation. The author will have their original copy that is white while the curated version will be yellow. If you ever update the white, original copy of the wiki, you will need to resubmit it in order to update the yellow, curated copy of the wiki. This will repeat the process if applicable.
