  1. [1:34:55 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> |||+++--- Chapter VI ---+++|||
  2. [1:45:56 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [No further combat is seen on the island in the following days. The injured, as they recover and can be moved, are gradually ferried to the outer shore of the lake and the support facilities are taken down on the island to be raised again across the water. Many of the boats are returned to the locals, who ply the waters in the mornings and evenings to fish. The first of the army's reinforcements, called upon initial discovery of the Heart
  3. [1:45:56 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> of Sand, arrive with supplies and transport out of the desert. Sindr's injuries healed quickly enough, and when the army checked to see if the Wayward can be moved across the water, she was well enough to move on her own. Though fit in body, she seems to be somewhat preoccupied with some thoughts. Glanari also returned after crossing the water, somewhat brighter and livelier, like her old self from long ago.]
  4. [1:50:00 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya hums as she strolls around the bustling camp; eventually making her way into the Wayward's tent.
  5. [1:50:30 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow seeks Sindr.
  6. [1:52:33 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Most of the children are in the Wayward's tent at the moment, though Sindr is not there; she is sitting under a tree by the water instead.]
  7. [1:53:47 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow walks to the water, and sits beneath the tree, next to Sindr.
  8. [1:56:10 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Good morning friends! How is everyone?
  9. [1:58:43 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Never been better! We were just talking about the practice we had just got these few days.
  10. [1:59:51 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Tade and Marjolaine were seated on a cot, while Glanari stood before them. The two seated kids nods in agreement.]
  11. [2:02:54 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> It certainly has been busy!
  12. [2:03:26 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya beams as she walks over to the children and sets down near them.
  13. [2:05:29 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Like you wouldn't believe. The mages of this army are interesting, but somewhat primitive. Though they possess knowledge to a great many magical principles, they still argued over the exact foundational mechanism behind manifestations, as if that were still up for debate.
  14. [2:10:11 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Wow! So are you like, the boss now then?
  15. [2:13:17 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Pfaw, hardly. I tried to tell them that whose thinking was correct and whose was not, but being an outsider and looking like this did not help. Thankfully that didn't go on for too much because we had to focus our abilities to crossing the water and breaking into the mountain, but the absolute state of magic in this land is completely childish and unprofessional. It was nice to be able to manifest a fraction of my powers again,
  16. [2:13:17 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> but being looked at like a curious insect by a group of children did not instil confidence or comfort, so I came back as quickly as I could.
  17. [2:15:12 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> That's too bad. Hey, but I thought the ice thing with the water was super cool!
  18. [2:16:19 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow lets permits the surf to speak for a long moment, remaining silent and giving Sindr a chance to speak. When she determines that the moment for Sindr to take the initiative has passed, she asks quietly, "How are you feeling?"
  19. [2:16:32 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Tade lets out a small chuckle, while Glanari has a bit of an unreadable expression in response, though it transitions into her youthful haughtiness quickly.]
  20. [2:18:01 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: The idea of tunnelling beneath the water, while bold, was completely unsafe. If I had my full powers, it would be easy, but as I am now, with the mages of this land as support, what if that tunnel collapsed and drowned the whole army? That would end the fight quickly wouldn't it? Really, I could have just collapsed the mountain myself. It's a wonder how this Coalition can't gather enough mages to do that much.]
  21. [2:21:29 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya grimaces at the thought.
  22. [2:21:31 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Sindr sits in silence a while longer, her fingers holding onto her knees tense.]
  23. [2:21:35 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> I can't swim.
  24. [2:21:41 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Something's wrong.
  25. [2:22:28 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow continues, keeping her voice soft.
  26. [2:22:31 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> What do you mean?
  27. [2:22:54 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: I expect much of the army here couldn't, so it would have been even worse. We don't even know how deep the lake is, or if the bottom is smooth. Granted, the plans that the commanders came up with wasn't much better. A normal surface shore landing when the enemy is expecting it? It's a wonder anyone listens to these men at all.
  28. [2:23:41 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Glanari paces around, wrapped up in her rant. The other two nod obediently.]
  29. [2:25:50 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Something's wrong.
  30. [2:26:07 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Sindr repeats herself, clutching her knees tighter and burying her face in them.]
  31. [2:26:59 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow turns her head to look at Sindr. Her own fingers flex, then relax.
  32. [2:27:32 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> Marjolaine told me you were healing faster than she expected.
  33. [2:29:21 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya bobbles from side to side as she listens to Glanari rant.
  34. [2:30:05 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> What do you think is next? I heard taking the mountain was the big goal; is everyone going home now?
  35. [2:30:35 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Sindr wobbles from side to side, muttering something.]
  36. [2:31:23 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> ...Do you feel different?
  37. [2:33:10 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: I hope so, or at least away from here. I grew up in a desert, you know? I don't like them too much. Didn't seem like the commanders wanted to be here much either. I guess they're more used to the places to the north. We'll probably head back to the front with the Dominion if I'm remember the land correctly. The restive parts of this Coalition has been sort of sorted out, so all that's left is to remove the enemy.
  38. [2:34:16 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya nods.
  39. [2:34:46 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> First time in a desert for me. I didn't really like it.
  40. [2:38:24 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Some people like it. It sort of makes cleaning easy because everything is so dry you only need to dust. It's hot and bright so if you set up a source of water, things grow well. But you are from inside mountains, aren't you? So the brightness would be a bit difficult I suppose?
  41. [2:38:50 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I should be dead!
  42. [2:38:52 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Sindr pounces on Meadow, knocking the older woman over while the girl clutches Meadow's shoulders, trembling. Sindr's head is tucked down, her hair falls forward and covers Meadow's face, obscuring whatever Sindr's expression is.]
  43. [2:39:19 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I should be dead, dead!
  44. [2:40:43 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow doesn't resist. She lies there on the sand as Sindr holds her there, and says nothing. She liftts her hand, and places it on top of Sindr's where it rests on her shoulder.
  45. [2:42:44 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Mmmhmmm, the brightness is fine. A lot of people keep asking me that; I don't understand. We have lights inside the mountain too. But anyways, its the heat I don't like the most. First day I thought it was kinda nice, being all toasty and such, but after running around and fighting and flaering it got pretty uncomfortable.
  46. [2:43:50 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Risal, Iris... We're all wrong.
  47. [2:44:26 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Glanari nods, and the other two follow suit.]
  48. [2:45:26 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow looks to the side, and takes a deep breath.
  49. [2:45:31 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: I'd like to study why this hole in the ground is cooler than the rest of the desert. Maybe far in the future. But I do not look forward to going back up out there. Sleeping in the day under shade was a good idea, but it was still uncomfortable.
  50. [2:45:32 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> ...Is that what it is?
  51. [2:47:38 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Sindr releases Meadow with a shove, returning to where she was sitting, face towards the sky.]
  52. [2:47:44 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I thought I could get away.
  53. [2:48:49 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow pushes herself back up to sitting.
  54. [2:49:07 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Too bad we can't take this mountain with us. It's kinda of nice in there, but the decor isn't what I'd choose.
  55. [2:49:37 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow watches Sindr, listening to the waves.
  56. [2:50:48 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: It's probably cursed, or haunted. There's definitely something weird under it, being a locus and all. I'm sure it looked nice at some point before the rebels took up residence in it. Was probably important too.
  57. [2:53:54 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Scary! Good thing we're leaving then.
  58. [2:54:15 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya looks around.
  59. [2:54:19 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> There are some things that will follow you wherever you go; that you take with you.
  60. [2:55:06 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> How's Sindr? I heard she's all healed now?
  61. [2:55:13 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya smiles at Tade.
  62. [2:57:49 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Tade: Yup. She's alright now, just a bit sad.
  63. [2:58:41 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I don't want to, not this. This is Zarine's doing. She's cursed us, that witch.
  64. [2:59:00 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Aww, that sucks to hear. It hurt that bad, huh.
  65. [2:59:44 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Tade nods.]
  66. [3:00:13 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Tade: But she heals better than other people, so she's fine now.
  67. [3:00:39 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> Cursed you with life?
  68. [3:01:08 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> That's good. Maybe leaving this place will cheer her up.
  69. [3:07:30 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: The old, forbidden stories told of it. You wouldn't care. But that woman changed after we moved, she was different in a very small way. We all knew it but blamed it on moving away. Then the ones close to her started to change too.
  70. [3:08:06 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> Why wouldn't I care?
  71. [3:08:49 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Yeah maybe, but we're going into more war so maybe not. What about you? I heard that your head was turned around in the mountain.
  72. [3:09:06 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: You do? Prove it.
  73. [3:11:25 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Oof, it was bad. One moment I was blastin', then suddenly WOOSH! Everything started hurting and went to black! Next I thing I knew I was back at the entrance with the worst headache ever!
  74. [3:14:03 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: The terror magic those rebels were using were pretty strong, I've got to say. So it's good that you weren't permanently damaged in the head.
  75. [3:14:32 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> My head is very strong, don't you worry!
  76. [3:14:43 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya gives Glanari a thumbs up and big toothy grin.
  77. [3:16:33 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Tade laughs while Marjolaine's smile is of amusement. Glanari
  78. [3:16:45 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> 's is of appreciation.]
  79. [3:17:54 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: A good thing to have with the people with fight against and beside. If we head north again, how would you handle the politics that will surely come our way?
  80. [3:17:56 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> I am here, talking to you about it. And even before we came here, I would hope to have proven my concern for you, and your family.
  81. [3:18:24 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> !roll 1d12 + 5 + 1d8 + 2 + 4 [CHA WLL] Social Interaction
  82. [3:18:24 PM CDT] <FeistyKaka> [Multi]_Meadow rolled: {3}=> 3 + 5 + {7}=> 7 + 2 + 4 = 21 "[CHA WLL] Social Interaction"
  83. [3:18:55 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya tilts her head as she looks at Glanari; slightly bewildered.
  84. [3:18:59 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Eh?
  85. [3:27:17 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Hmf. Zarine Virothuin, whom me and my sisters served, was certainly kept alive by some old magic in Ynnishire. Even when we left, everyone was themselves, even though the lands had changed. But soon that witch's personality changed, the way she talked changed, the things she talked about changed. More and more of the times in the Old Tales. Risal called it homesickness, but it was strange to me. We didn't need to work in that city,
  86. [3:27:17 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> but rather than enjoying it, she just kept talking about some past. And then my sister started talking about the same things too. The old god, the over-king, the undying. I wanted to get out of there, so I signed up on this scheme. Now I see that I was too late.
  87. [3:28:07 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Didn't you have such things with your mountain people?
  88. [3:29:11 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> The change is in you, as well?
  89. [3:30:57 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Well I'm alive, aren't I? The others even say I healed better than usual. What else is there to it? And I'm far away from her. Who knows what's happened to the others after this many months.
  90. [3:32:31 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow casts her eyes to the ground.
  91. [3:32:36 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> I wonder about that as well, at times.
  92. [3:34:46 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Like when old Uncle Tapi got into it with his neighbour because his fence was too ugly and Uncle Tapi didn't want to see it outside his window? They argued a bunch and my pops and some others had to help them calm down. I think they changed the fence afterwards.
  93. [3:36:02 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya slightly squirms in her seat.
  94. [3:36:15 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I'll kill her myself if I have to. But I'll have to go back to do it.
  95. [3:36:56 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Like that, but with hundreds of people supporting either opinion.
  96. [3:36:59 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow lets out a deep sigh, her eyes still trained on the ground.
  97. [3:37:43 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Eugh. I figured. Sounds like a pain to deal with.
  98. [3:37:44 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> ...You know, I would try my utmost to stop you, if I thought you had a hope of besting her power.
  99. [3:38:51 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Are we going to have to go do that? 'Cause I'd rather not.
  100. [3:38:53 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Why? Are you under her sway too?
  101. [3:39:37 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Well hopefully we don't have to do it ourselves, but know that a few hundred people may want us to do one thing, while another few hundred may want us to do it a different way, for whatever we do.
  102. [3:41:57 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> Because I care for your sister, for one, and I would not have you bring such tragedy into your life. And because I am in part responsible for what has happened to you, and I would do what I can for the tragedy to play itself out no further than it must.
  103. [3:42:06 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> We get to choose to do things our own way though, can't we? Uncle Tapi is a mean old man and I don't like him, but that fence was really really really ugly.
  104. [3:43:02 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: If you're ok with a few hundred people not liking you for how you did things, then it should be fine. Just make sure it works and most people won't do anything to you.
  105. [3:44:50 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya pulls her hat over eyes for a moment.
  106. [3:45:01 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Eiiyaaaaaahhhhhh!
  107. [3:45:41 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya takes her hat off and sighs.
  108. [3:45:52 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: This is beyond you. I want to free my sisters from becoming the monsters that we had lived with. I think the witch did something to be changed, so she's entirely at fault for it.
  109. [3:47:52 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> Sindr, who does the witch serve?
  110. [3:49:06 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I dunno, that old god that they kept talking about, I assume. I'm thinking that she somehow took it with her when we left Ynnishire.
  111. [3:49:22 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Actually, this is good time to ask, but who is the leader of this group? When we fight everyone listens to Hanne, but when we're not Meadow sometimes tells us where we're going, and then you as well are very strong and decide things with the mages. Do we have a leader?
  112. [3:50:03 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> She did. It lives still with her, and your family.
  113. [3:51:56 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Nobody, and it shows, but I wouldn't change it. It's nice to be able to come out and say important things and then disappear before anyone expects you to follow up on it.
  114. [3:52:05 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: How do you know this?
  115. [3:54:22 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow raises her eyes to Sindr's.
  116. [3:54:31 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> Sindr, what do you think I did at Yinnishire?
  117. [3:54:34 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Huh. Waiiiit, doesn't that mean I will have to do the politics thing myself?
  118. [3:54:48 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya crosses her arms.
  119. [3:54:58 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: You might, if nobody is around to do it for you.
  120. [3:55:07 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Glanari laughs cruelly.]
  121. [3:55:16 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
  122. [3:55:58 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya exaggeratedly looks around, as if to locate help.
  123. [3:56:24 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: You were kissing butt or something.
  124. [3:57:27 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Yeah, that's how the adult-looking people felt when we were in Oyashima.
  125. [3:58:01 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Where's that? I think I heard someone say that name once before.
  126. [3:58:48 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: It's an island off the western coast or something. You should get a map next time there is one.
  127. [3:59:30 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya points at Glanari.
  128. [3:59:39 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Yes! That! That is a good idea!
  129. [4:00:48 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> In part, yes, that can be an important tactic. But I was there as an agent of the State. I was there as part of an attempt to secure it against the Dominion, in the State's interests, and as such, was attempting to ingratiate myself with the highest echelons of its government. I have met Zarine, and spoken to her about your god.
  130. [4:02:25 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Not my god. And so what?
  131. [4:03:52 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> If Zarine has changed, it is because the god she communes with has changed. She has spoken to me about this.
  132. [4:04:26 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: So you've been travelling all this time without really knowing where you are?
  133. [4:04:59 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Really?
  134. [4:05:53 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Yeah, kinda. I mean, I sort of know where I am, but I mostly just followed the others.
  135. [4:08:13 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: See, you fit right in.
  136. [4:08:16 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> Yes. Hiin is not the same as before. The State has had there influence there, as well.
  137. [4:09:03 PM CDT] * [110]_Neya smiles brightly at Glanari's comment.
  138. [4:09:08 PM CDT] <[110]_Neya> Gee, thank you!
  139. [4:09:09 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: So you do know that name. Well, what's changed?
  140. [4:11:35 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow spends a moment to collect her thoughts and organize her memories.
  141. [4:11:52 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> She told me that...he was content, now. Not as severe and demanding, but strangely serene.
  142. [4:12:51 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Glanari: Don't take too much pride in it. It only works in your favour when the land is such a mess, haha.
  143. [4:14:02 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Any reason why?
  144. [4:16:19 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> River, I believe. Did you ever meet her? She was the one that evacuated the survivors.
  145. [4:18:01 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Only that she was the one who brought me here. Whatever, this doesn't change anything. Zarine is the cause of all this.
  146. [4:19:09 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow shakes her head.
  147. [4:19:43 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> No. She's not. It was us, who came into your land, and wrested your patron god from you, and abandoned it to the deprivations of the Dominion.
  148. [4:22:31 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: It's like you want to be possessed by the old god or something. Call River, I want to go back and end this. You can stay if you want to.
  149. [4:28:47 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne is walking around the camp when she spots Meadow and Sindr by the water. Casually walking up to the pair, she makes a low-effort acknowledgement of Meadow's presence before greeting Sindr.
  150. [4:29:20 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Glad to see you up and about. How're you feeling? We'll probably be moving out soon.
  151. [4:29:44 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I'm ok. Just a bit sore.
  152. [4:32:46 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne nods.
  153. [4:33:34 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Good. Some folks get shaken up after getting severely injured for the first time, just like after their first kill.
  154. [4:40:51 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> The god of Yinnishire is protecting her, and her recovery has been swift.
  155. [4:42:34 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne turns her head at Meadow.
  156. [4:42:41 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Huh?
  157. [4:45:00 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow pushes herself to her feet.
  158. [4:45:49 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> I don't think you were present when River and I spoke to the ruler of Ynnishire on that subject, but it has a long history. Sindr was just saying she would abandon the field of battle to settle a score with River, personally.
  159. [4:46:58 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne glances at Sindr, then stares at Meadow with confusing.
  160. [4:47:27 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> What? With River?
  161. [4:47:42 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne looks back at Sindr.
  162. [4:48:22 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Is this true? Did I speak too soon and you want to leave?
  163. [4:49:37 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: That spirit is haunting my sisters through my former master. I want to free them.
  164. [4:50:31 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Sindr straightens out her clothes.]
  165. [4:50:36 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I need River to take me back.
  166. [4:51:29 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Oh? Do you think you're ready to?
  167. [4:53:59 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Maybe, maybe not. I've been away from them for a long time and if the curse can keep me from dying, I worry what it has done to them. I need to go back soon.
  168. [4:55:29 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne crosses her arms as she regards Sindr.
  169. [4:58:49 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> You're not. What do you think will happen when you go back and fail?
  170. [5:00:14 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I dunno, die maybe? Turn into a possessed puppet? I could get help.
  171. [5:01:14 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne raises an eyebrow.
  172. [5:01:39 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> From who?
  173. [5:02:26 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Well they're living in that city aren't they? The State wouldn't want a weird curse around, right?
  174. [5:04:17 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> I doubt it.
  175. [5:04:26 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne pauses to think before turning to Meadow.
  176. [5:04:56 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Hold up, does the State not know about this? Should you tell River and Mist?
  177. [5:05:45 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> I think River already knows. She would not have welcomed the Ynni and their god into the city if she did not understand what she were dealing with, and was not worried that it could not be controlled.
  178. [5:06:34 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Is it being controlled? Sindr makes it sound like something's up.
  179. [5:08:07 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> I don't believe that Sindr understands the full truth of the matter, and her worries are overstated. If she wishes to confront River, then I think that River could do a better job explaining the situation to her than could either of us, if she could be spared from whatever her current business is.
  180. [5:09:40 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I just want to end this for my sisters.
  181. [5:10:42 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> She sounds pretty convinced to me.
  182. [5:11:19 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne turns back to Sindr.
  183. [5:11:27 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> I agree. Let her speak to River, or to Zarine, or whoever she will.
  184. [5:13:35 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Are they in imminent danger? Or do you have time to get stronger? Because I can tell you now: if you went back as you are now, you'd lose. And then how would your sisters be saved?
  185. [5:15:50 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: I don't know how they are, but I've been here all this time, far away from them, and the effects are still on me. What do you think it would be like living right there?
  186. [5:16:50 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> Sindr, what are you worried has happened to them? That they recover from their wounds even faster than you do?
  187. [5:17:15 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne considers Sindr's response.
  188. [5:18:03 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Do you remember the creeps who served Zarine? They weren't normal people, and I think they were affected by the old god.
  189. [5:20:29 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow nods, pursing her lips.
  190. [5:20:49 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> And I can understand that you should want to spare your sisters from the same fate.
  191. [5:21:27 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> How long were those creeps around?
  192. [5:22:07 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Dunno, they lived before I was born.
  193. [5:22:46 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Around Zarine, I meant.
  194. [5:23:58 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: No, they had their roles since before I can remember.
  195. [5:25:36 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Hrmm. I'd like to say then that we still have time before your sisters become like them. Time you can use either to get stronger, or to find an alternate way. In any case, just rushing in without a plan won't help anyone.
  196. [5:28:31 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> Sindr: Fine. But I'd like it to be soon.
  197. [5:31:32 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> When do you think would be reasonable to try to connect her with River?
  198. [5:32:12 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> As soon as possible. Now, if I could.
  199. [5:33:42 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> As would I. It may be worth asking the others what tools we have at our disposal for that.
  200. [5:37:39 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne turns to Sindr.
  201. [5:38:22 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> We'll get you when we're going to talk to River. In the meantime you should check back in with the others. They'll get worried if you sulk too long.
  202. [5:39:09 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> [Sindr huffs and gets up, patting herself off and walking back to the Wayward's tent, standing a bit taller than before.]
  203. [5:39:47 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne turns back to Meadow after Sindr leaves.
  204. [5:41:23 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Well? You've spoken with Zarine or whomever before. What can you tell me?
  205. [5:44:32 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> The forces Sindr is worried about, the powers of the old god, Hiin, were altered and contained by River as part of the battle of Ynnishire. I have full confidence that they are in her ability to control. Whether or not Sindr, Risal, and Iris are under threat from this, I cannot know.
  206. [5:46:54 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> As confident as I am in River and the State, they aren't all powerful. And River has been away from the City for some time.
  207. [5:46:59 PM CDT] * [110]_Hanne ponders.
  208. [5:47:20 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Sindr joined us after we left the City. Perhaps something has changed in that time?
  209. [5:48:35 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> It's possible. And her words do have me worried for the surviving Ynni. But our task here is great—unless assisted by the powers of River herself, I don't how we would make a detour to check on them without abandoning the Wayword and the struggle before us.
  210. [5:49:46 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Well, luckily we're winning this fight. With this rebellion put down, the Coalition and put more weight on the remaining Dominion forces.
  211. [5:51:47 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> Yes, the winds of fate blow in our favor for the moment. Let us harness them, and bring a swift end to their presence here.
  212. [5:52:59 PM CDT] <[110]_Hanne> Uh, right. Anyways, after Sindr cools off a bit we'll go ask River for her opinions.
  213. [5:55:02 PM CDT] * [Multi]_Meadow nods in agreement.
  214. [5:55:06 PM CDT] <[Multi]_Meadow> A sound plan.
  215. [5:59:24 PM CDT] <[Cy2]> |||+++--- [59] ---+++|||
