❛ background: her mother used to abuse her father, usually for coming in late or even so much as talking to another female coworker. they slept in separate beds, and most nights they would sleep in other houses, leaving yasmin and marcus alone. luckily, her father managed to find a placement in austin, and they moved away in 2008.

she had to make a load of new friends, and adjust to a new school, but in texas is where she found her love for the card game yugioh, introduced to her by a group of so-called 'nerds' in the school library. she also developed her vocal skills in school, as well as some dancing, in order to pursue a dream only introduced to her when she was 12 - becoming a kpop idol.

willing to give up her time and education in order to train, she found an audition and begged her father to help her get there. minhyung happened to be at the same auditions as her, and they bonded over his pokemon game on the ds. it took a bit more persuasion from her father in order for her to be able to accept the placement as a trainee, her father saying it was just a hobby, and that it isn't a proper career choice. although, she managed to get a small job in the suburbs, in a local yet popular florist, in order to get the money for a one-way flight to seoul.

as an smrookie, she was lonely because of the language barrier, and she had to perform with the girls, most who spoke hardly enough english to start a conversation. luckily, during the short breaks, she was able to talk to minhyung about whatever seems to be the buzz in the gaming world. most of the girls in the trainee program ignored her, except for a couple of english-speaking girls at points, but not often. but, she didn't mind that much about friendships, as her mind was fully set on debuting rather than making relationships.

❛ personality: being in the middle of puberty means that yasmin's emotions aren't the most stable. she is very shy at times, but there are times where she can come out of her shell and leap around like a kangaroo. she can also be moody when people don't listen to her or some things don't go her way. she is very weird, bringing up odd questions that could leave you debating your existence or debating her thought process, but you shouldn't let that judge your views on yasmin. she has come so far to turn away now, so all of her effort has gone into training and perfecting everything - with education fitting in between, in the demands of her father. she's intelligent, cute, shy and talented, yet she can be swept under the rug at points because of she is half mexican. she doesn't understand why this happens, but she doesn't let that bring her down. all that matters to her is that her group succeeds, matter the costs

❛ training history: she didn't interact a lot with the majority of trainees due to the language barrier, but she had some english speaking or Spanish speaking trainees help her learn or they learn together. she only really hung out with minhyung and a couple of the girls that are to debut with her. she got scolded for every wrong thing, and she assumed mainly that it was because she was mixed race as well as the fact that she wasn't as experienced as the fully korean trainees. she wasn't the favourite of the staff, but she wasn't the most hated at the same time. she just made sure she was improving and proved to herself that she was good by debuting. she feels as if she is at the same level as trainees who have trained for about a year, despite having trained for four years

❛ off stage persona: she is much shyer off of stage, still smiley but not as expressive. on variety shows, she tends to be out-shined by other members, but she does like to take an opportunity when it's handed to her. she tends to be seen offstage huddled over her gameboy (or something similar), playing a video game, or admiring her trading card collection.

beginning - she acted quite shy at first, listening to minhyung rant on about whether he prefers trading cards or video games, but added her opinion in at points. he wanted to let her speak, but she never had much to say. they were kind of close. middle - they start to open up more, and they trusted each other more. they shared opinions more and the conversation ratio was 50:50 at last. they are always telling jokes and gossiping about the oddest things. end - they are irrespirable. they know each other's problems and know the other's emotions pretty well and when it is likely for their moods to swing.
