How I would do it

Core idea,
Succubus turned goddess, may or may not have turned good.
If good tends to understand good in a very cosmic sense and the very long term. While she has good goals and honestly wants to help her worshipers, she is prone to falling back on strategies she used while she was a demon such as using charm spells to get people to make the "right" choice, forcibly mindfucking evil beings into a good alignment, very strong social control and conformity among worshipers, or assimilating the souls of her worshipers after death into herself to become a part of her gestalt being. She doesn't actually lie about what she used to be, what she's doing/encouraging her priests to do, or her motivations and everything is laid out in her holy book, though often in somewhat flowery language in between sermons on redemption and loving others despite their flaws, but the dichotomy between her ends and means pushes her at best to the border between good and neutral

Though on the whole, she is for the most part as loving towards her followers as she portrays herself, if a bit patronizing in their "short sighted" view of the world. She does strongly encourage them and others to repent from their past sins and live a good life, as noted above she has no real issue with more "advanced redemption" methods which can put her and her cult at odds with those who champion personal freedom. Additionally, she has two major personality flaws, the first is that she is incredibly vain and does not like the idea that another may surpass her beauty, even using an inordinate amount of her godly (or "godly") powers to keep herself looking good in all situations. The other is that her hunger never quite went away, and while she is telling the truth about souls merging and becoming one with her, he motivation is not entirely to ensure a peaceful and nirvana like afterlife.

If evil then much like the above with a few notable exceptions, the "Goddess" has worked out a way to ping as neutral rather than evil, she takes much enjoyment in spelling out the evil she does in her "holy" book but wording it in such a way that most would not get what she's doing until it's too late, and is quite simply eating souls, obliterating everything her worshiper was for power rather than assimilating them as a part of her

Her exact domains could vary on if she's actually good or evil but typically would be beauty, love, charm, deception, and hunger.


Three versions of a plot line for an adventure involving her cult but the general plot for the first two are the same, PCs learn about cult and hear about it's origins, have reason to suspect she's not all she says she is or be asked to investigate the cult by an ally, ideally would have end with enough evidence either way to have to make a judgment call (and I would personally have the correct option be whichever one they picked), and then decide what to do about cult/report to their ally, possibly dismantling it/slaying Lilium if they discover she's evil

1. For mid-lower level PCs
Small, local cult, only a few villages at most, though the majority in said villages due to their "goddess's" physical presence and her worshipers able to directly ask her for miracles. Lilium is not quite a full blown deity yet but still more than a succubus like she once was. Completely possible for the PCs to meet her

2.For mid-high level PCs
Spread out cult, not actually that numerous but has become the fantasy equivalent of door to door god bothers mixed with a new age cult and are prone to picking up new members from the impressionable and disenfranchised. Very little interaction with Lilium herself unless they travel to her heavenly domain, most of the people they will be dealing with are priest. Lilium is now more of a amalgamation of assimilated souls than a succubus but still is patterned off her original core self. The cult is likely centered in an isolated complex the PCs will likely have to break into for information

3. For epic level PCs
