  1. [06:25:29] The re-supply day wasn't over. Now with his bag full of food, snacks, necessary tools for one's survival in the wilderness, and several sacs full of water resting right next to his flask, he was heading out of the city. The bag was hidden underneath his mantle, showing off as a bump at his side, but it was a mere bag hung over his shoulder after all. Although, he managed to score a bargaign day and thus he had a satisfied grin on his face, having purchased the necessary wares for the lower price than usual.
  2.
  3. His clothes were fixed now, he visited a tailor earlier after all. For a decent fee, his clothes were cleaned thoroughly and any blemish was repaired, turning his clothing into what appealed his appearance of a noble. It was clearly an impressive clothing, although good part of it was hidden below the armor plates that were protecting the young magi's body. Can't just walk around with clothing alone these days, can you?
  4.
  5. It's seemed as if there was a change to his casual calm demeanor, instead he wore a smile. Despite his... practises, he was shining with life and energy, almost possessive of alluring and captivating look. The young magi was in his prime, at last almost matured into adulthood.
  6.
  7. He was heading to the exit of Nostvale to go back to the wilderness.
  8. (Saulot Vykos)
  9. [06:33:10] He would be there pensive and thoughtful. He was deep in his own plans. He would see the red cloaked man moving in the streets of Nostvale. HE would reach out, taking the man's shoulder as a horse voice spoke from under a hood, "Saulot... is that you?" He would ask with a turn of the head.
  10.
  11. He could hardly believe it. Almost all of his friends had been slaughtered. Killed or otherwise done away with. He had only Aria, but she was a byproduct, not the friendship sought. He would sigh to him as he looked at him. He still wore the red of his. It was good to see and to feel that some things always stayed the same.
  12.
  13. His smile was unseeable. He would give a loud sigh to the man once more, "Have you seen the light of Azrael my friend?" Since his more terrible and fearsome maimings and pains he had become fractured and pained and even more zealous.
  14.
  15. He would clear his throat, "Apologies... you knew me as Marcus. We are Legion."
  16. (Legion Hertlend)
  17. [06:34:01] Dio Lucilfer: yo legion)
  18. [06:34:01] Dio Lucilfer: do u have any mulah)
  19. [06:34:52] Legion Hertlend: (wait
  20. [06:34:52] Legion Hertlend: (nvm
  21. [06:38:17] Legion Hertlend: (Mendas!
  22. [06:38:17] Legion Hertlend: (long time no see
  23. [06:38:17] Legion Hertlend: (wow, ok thanks
  24. [06:39:08] And indeed he wore the red mantle of his... it was the cloak that actually held meaning to him. He received it a long time ago, back when he was a child, and had ever since fled in it from the traitors. It used to drag along the ground when he was younger and shorter, but now he has grown and it fits him just fine.
  25.
  26. Oh! The familiar voice. He looked around but did not see the familiar face right away, although his gaze stopped upon Legion. Was it really Marcus? There was a struggle to tell him apart at first, but soon enough he recognized him. A smile decorated his face, and he spoke soon to his old friend.
  27.
  28. "Marcus? Good to see you! How have you been, my old friend?"
  29.
  30. A genuine smile remained upon his face. It was a good change to see a friendly face around here after all of those hostiles, but he paid no mind to their vile existance in his life.
  31.
  32. "Light of Azrael? Oh, no, I haven't been in danger that deeply. Not yet at least."
  33.
  34. He naturally assumed that he meant death. But he could be wrong..?
  35. (Saulot Vykos)
  36.
  37. (SERVER RESTART AT THIS POINT)
  38.
  39. [08:13:00] HE would nod his head to Saulot. A smile at his friend given, "It is indeed I. That was the name I used to go by, but no longer, friend. As an ally I would see it permissible to use that name." He would laugh a little, "You need the light of Lord Azrael, lest you fall into trouble." HE would smile.
  40.
  41. He would hold his shoulder and he would shake a little, "You should acknowledge him prior, but see what you wish. I allow this measaure of leniancy." He would chuckle at the person. Then he would lean against a wall of nostvale, "How have you been?"
  42.
  43. His helm remained planted on his head.
  44. (Legion Hertlend)
  45. [08:18:59] Ah, the well known zealousness of Oscuri whenever it comes to religion. Obviously, Marcus would try to convert him, considering the fact they had known each other for years and Saulot still had absolutely no religion he followed, but he only politely smiled to that inquiry as if to let Legion acknowledge that he's listening and probably considered his point.
  46.
  47. Though, in reality, if anything Azraelite religion was scary to a human. He still pondered how the vast cities with human population were allowing that religion so openly, it's not like there were that many Oscuri anyway? As far as Saulot's knowledge stretched out, the roots of Azraelite religion were rather... unpleasant for humanity, at the very best, and downright horrifying at worst.
  48.
  49. For good or bad, Saulot simply skipped Legion's remark about Azrael. He knew that this topic could get touchy for Legion, and out of common courtesy he spoke no word on it, but he didn't wish to get involved in any religion either.
  50.
  51. Instead, he answered another question, seeing it as opportunity to change subject:
  52.
  53. "I've been mostly okay, though now I spend my time in the wilderness a lot instead of a city. I just decided to stop by so I could re-supply. And what about you?"
  54. (Saulot Vykos)
  55. [08:24:57] He would nod to the human, "I have been in Brighthold for the last two months. But my friend in the city was taken from his place, and since I have been wandering." He would smile at the friend that he had. It was nice to see a familiar face.
  56.
  57. He didn't even recognize his own anymore.
  58.
  59. He would laugh at his friend, "I believe that I shall shortly be joining the ranks of the Viridian legion, but I am still confused. I am quite young, but it is still allures me. I must have some measure of vengeance, and that seems as the best way not only to acquire it, but also to serve the Morninglord." He knew that he had dodged his question. But he avoided going any further. He knew that it pissed him off.
  60. (Legion Hertlend)
  61. [08:31:47] In Brighthold? Oh, he was probably referring to Dio. Indeed, the lad had gone missing, and it all made sense on what Marcus is doing around Nostvale. Loranthis and the situation around it seemed to get heated anyway, and there were a lot of rather strong individuals involved; high risk to get caught in that while being on the either side, and perhaps it'd be for the best to avoid those and focus on growing in potential strength.
  62.
  63. "Viridian Legion? Oh, I heard they have quite... nice armor?" - but truth be told, Saulot didn't know much about Viridian Legion, only that they were militia of sort. If Legion had joined that, perhaps he would grow in strength on his own, and at the same time Saulot would have contact with a person who has some relation to government, in one way or another. That'd be a nice merit, really.
  64.
  65. "I'm sure you'll do fine. You're a strong guy, and I'm certain they could use someone like you."
  66.
  67. Perhaps his decision was also influenced by Hauk? Doesn't matter, the old man seemed to put liking into Legion, so if such powerful people would be watching over him, then it's all good.
  68.
  69. But Saulot spoke no word of addition about his own plans, or further elaboration as to what he plans to join, if anything at all. Sure, he had grown in power much, but... his future was clouded, uncertain. There were still things to do, maybe after it's over.
  70. (Saulot Vykos)
  71. [08:38:36] He would wipe away all doubt from the friend he had, "Yes, thank you. I wish to seek the mentorship of Ex-Marshall Huak, he's the one who convinced me join the Viridian rather than the Bulwark." He would smile at the friend he had. He needed to get his revenge, and he doubted that Vykos could teach him in any reasonable regard.
  72.
  73. He would crack his back, he would then chuckle a bit, "What are you planning to side with after you retake your lands? You have to have a plan after we slaughter them!" He seemd eager for that little detail. The light in his emerald eyes would surge with the words and his hand would clench in his gloves.
  74.
  75. He wasn't as chipper as he once was, and he was covered in cloth and armor. Every inch of his body was covered by the black clothe and the armor.
  76. (Legion Hertlend)
  77. [08:43:44] So he indeed was influenced by Hauk. It's a solid choice, honestly - the old man had probably lived through many battles, had experienced much, and could teach a lot. If anything, Hauk had offered Saulot to be taught something in magic, something... uncommon, unique. That offer was alluring, but it stayed only an offer since that day; he never saw Hauk again, unfortunately, but he wish that he had.
  78.
  79. As for the question? Saulot didn't know. He began liking the life on the road, and even if he joined something, he wouldn't be sure that he liked it. And did he really have to side with anything? The fact that all of the cities either were chaotic or largely supported Azraelite religion, it was just... wrong to him. In his eyes, humanity was submitting themselves to Oscuri, and wide acceptance of their religion was a first step. He didn't wish for rivalry between humanity and Oscuri, no, but is it really wise to take such large step after all of the history suffered? Saulot didn't think so.
  80.
  81. "I'm... not really sure, if I'm honest... perhaps I'll just remain on my own, ever seeking adventure and studying, learning more. Maybe I'll join something one day, maybe not. I'm just... well, not really fond of certain things."
  82.
  83. He hoped that Legion could understand what he meant. He didn't wish to elaborate further upon the subject, deeming that it could offend him. But perhaps he's going to have to.
  84. (Saulot Vykos)
  85. [08:47:08] (Lapis Onychinus) Jaegar {Puppet}: tyria
  86. [08:47:08] (Lapis Onychinus) Tyria {Conductor}: Haii
  87. [08:48:00] (Lapis Onychinus) Jaegar {Puppet}: lets rp
  88. [08:48:00] (Lapis Onychinus) Jaegar {Puppet}: meet me near nost
  89. [08:51:24] He would tilt his head, "What would you disagree with? The Tyrant Hiranos who once ruled have been taken. Perhaps in a few generations they will relearn those virtues that have allowed them to be leaders for so long. The army is strong, its officers loyal, and aligned in the will of the Lord Azrael. The city is unified. As any other, it has suffered its mistakes, but it is a bastion of power internationally. A stake which maintains order." It seemed he wasn't just a religious zealot. He was a nationalist.
  90.
  91. This despite the fact that his home was in Antegeria, although, that was a Nostvalian holding. He would chuckle and scoff at the man, "You certainly do have some things to work and to think through." He would smile at the man, and begin to walk away, "I hope that you will see the justice in the actions of the city and of the Lord Azrael. Fighting by you would be an honor."
  92. (Legion Hertlend)
  93. [08:52:16] Legion Hertlend: (thats my last one for now
  94. [08:52:16] (Lapis Onychinus) Tyria {Conductor}: I'm actually in one now :/
  95. [08:52:16] Viridian Legionnaire: Interloper, flee while you can!
  96. [08:52:16] Saulot Vykos: (ok)
  97. [08:55:40] (Lapis Onychinus) Jaegar {Puppet}: Oh well for some other time then
  98. [08:56:32] (Lapis Onychinus) Tyria {Conductor}: I was looking forwards to rping ith you too :/
  99. [08:57:23] Wait... Hiranos were subjugated? That was actually good news. He hated that stuck up, inbred, obnoxious family that was always "coincidentally" composed of morally lacking individuals that had absolutely nothing good about them.
  100.
  101. That was certainly a plus in favor of joining Nostvale... though, what about Kyros family? Were they not Oscuri? In his eyes, New Alteros had a big say when it comes to Nostvale politics, in fact perhaps /too much/ of a say. It's like Nostvale was indirectly ruled by New Alteros, whom always made the ultimate decision in the end.
  102.
  103. "I'll think it over."
  104.
  105. But was he going to, actually? Maybe, that simply wasn't a priority right now. He still largely disagreed with such support of Azraelite religion. In his opinion, all of it would end /really/ bad for humanity, and given more years, there are dark times awaiting for all of the humans.
  106.
  107. "Fighting by your side would be an honor for me as well, Marcus. Farewell." - he gave the last remark upon seeing him walk off.
  108. (Saulot Vykos)
