  1. Note 1 (3:08): It's most likely intended for that one item to be the Rareware golden banana, the banana fairy's reward for finding all 20 fairies, but it can be any collectible that alters the game percentage.
  2.
  3. Note 2 (14:54): As you can see from the video, it's actually possible to do a B. Locker skip with Lanky in Factory lobby, but it's much harder than just standing to the side and pressing B. You need to find yourself wedged inside of B. Locker's hitbox somehow. The earliest method involved damaging yourself with a precise orange throw banked off the wall, but other methods were later found, such as long jumping at B. Locker with a bit of ambient lag.
  4.
  5. Note 3 (17:44): Why he didn't simply go to Snide's in DK Isles on his way back to Hideout Helm, we may never know. It would probably have been at least a minute and a half faster.
  6.
  7. Note 4 (31:32): DK's Helm Lobby blueprint kind of requires sniper scope, but you can skip it easily simply by shooting from under the switch with Warp 1 tagged.
  8.
  9. Note 5 (32:07): Rather incredibly, Sniper Scope had already been made essentially useless as early as Cfox's 6:54 run, and yet somehow runners still bought the move anyway for another year and a half. Go figure.
  10.
  11. Note 6 (43:52): It should be noted that Falcon is a controversial figure with very problematic behaviour that I do not condone. He has a history of questionable messages that culminated this year with highly inappropriate messages to and about a minor that are simply unacceptable. He has held the 101% record on Wii U and those records still happened, but he is no longer welcome in the DK64 community.
  12.
  13. Note 7 (44:15): Dogadonequick was actually discovered in several steps, and perhaps even by multiple people independently. It was initially found only in the last phase of the Fungi version of the fight and called Dogadonkey, because it allowed you to fight that boss with any Kong (including Donkey, who was benefiting from this the most). It was used that way for a few months until the full Dogadonequick was discovered. Dogadonequick is the one that really broke the game open.
  14.
  15. Note 8 (45:46): It's technically possible to enter Creepy Castle's lobby early by triggering a wrong cutscene in DK Isles. In short, you need to have story skip set to off, pull the camera far away to deload Factory Lobby, walk through the DK portal to store it and use remote orange throwing to knock yourself into the loading zone leading to DK Isles during the pull into the DK Portal. Because Factory story intro and Open Castle share the same local cutscene index in their respective maps, doing this will play the Open Castle cutscene which also sets the flag for having turned in Key 5, allowing permanent access to Castle. It's TAS only and currently doesn't save time because story skip has to be off. Video by Ballaam here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HjzVPIf8RQI
  16.
  17. Note 9 (45:51): Incredibly enough, it's actually possible to unlock Tiny in the Kutout fight without using any glitches. The only boss that Tiny is required to fight is Mad Jack, and Key 3 doesn't open any levels. You can somewhat easily get the 80 required golden bananas for B. Locker without her, and you can just barely enter Kutout by collecting 400 colored bananas with the other 4 Kongs if you collect every single banana they have available. There's a joke speedrun category called "Tell the Tale of the Phantom Banana" where the goal is to collect an invisible banana with Tiny without using any glitches.
  18.
  19. Note 10 (50:47): His splits show that he lost a little bit of time in Fungi Forest, but it's actually because his Caves Done split is inflated by a route change. He used to do Caves Lobby before the level, but this new route was doing it after, so the Caves Done split was most likely about 60-75 seconds faster than it should have been. So, technically, he did come out of Fungi Forest more ahead than he was when he entered.
