Red Calf sent the boy and the child to a big tree where there was a nest. He called for a lightning-storm to do away with the people in the village. Only the brother-in-law and the child remained. This was the Mountain Lions' camp. They were human  beings in the story, but mountain lions scattered out from those who were left in the village.
