<Amos>: [so, give me a minute or so. need to get drink and such]

<Amos>: [yeah okay back]
<Gwydion>: cool]
<Amos>: It is the dawn of a ne- wait, no. Its nighttime at the S-Men academy, all the good little boys and girls have gone to sleep or are doing some illicit activities they will tell stories about in prison. Gwydion is among the sleeping, ready to return to the dream world once again to learn from a spooky monster.
Gwydion is in the dreaming
<Amos>: Gwydion wakes up as he did the night before, in the spiraling realm of imagination and wonder known as the dream world.
<Gwydion>: "Mr Frank?"
<Amos>: "Ah, there you are. Just in time to start" Amos' voice echoes throughout the vast area
Amos materializes in his usual form, sitting on a chair facing Gwydion
<Gwydion>: "So what are we going to learn today, and where?"
<Amos>: "Now, today I'm going to teach you something a little bit different than usual. I figure this ability will come in handy within the near future of our lessons."
<Amos>: "I am going to teach you how to traverse the dream world"
<Gwydion>: "Neat"
<Amos>: "Just to get that out of the way. Rather simple technique actually"
<Gwydion>: Oh sounds fun, whats first?
<Amos>: "You just need to know a target connected to the dreamspace you occupy and then warp yourself to it"
<Amos>: "Like say, someone who is nearby your sleeping body or someone with a strong personal bond"
<Amos>: "this allows for ease of access through the dreamworld and its many parts"
<Gwydion>: Well there is my roommate, Donald, he is pretty close physically and mentally.
<ReverendLamia>: haha]

<Amos>: "I thought it was Donnie. Whatever. Well, I figure he'd be a good first test for this ability. Just a safe jump through a nearby dreamspace."
<Amos>: "In the outside world you can use this ability as well, being able to jump to the dreams of a nearby dreamer"
<Gwydion>: How do we start it up?
<Amos>: "Dream walking comes naturally to me so forgive me if I am vague with descriptions on where to start. First off you must sense throughout the dreamspace you currently occupy and reach outside of it"
<Amos>: "Use your magic to extend your mental grasp on the area around you. Modify it"
<Gwydion>: ....ok, ill try

<Amos>: "It is not a spell, not truly. It is more of an application of raw magic"

Gwydion extends with magic to get a mental grasp of the area around him, and modify it.
<Amos>: "Use the pure essence of it to go into what you do, as you did with the fear yesterday"
Gwydion again does what amos told him, because he jumped the gun
<Amos>: Gwydion begins to sense something strange. It is a feeling indescribable to those who have not felt it. He can feel what seem to be other realities outside of his self, like another sense. He can sense the names of them as well, quickly telling out Donnie's
<Amos>: "You got it?"
<Gwydion>: ...yeah
<Amos>: "Good. Its a very simple usage of your magic abilities. You can use it in the outside world to get a better sense of surroundings. It is not a spell, as I said, just a focus of magic"
<Amos>: "Now focus on that reality you wish to go to"
Gwydion focuses on Donald's reality.
<Donnie>: [>donald]
<Amos>: Gwydion's focus creates what looks like a golf ball sized tear in the dreamspace in front of him, not big enough to go through
<ReverendLamia>: it keeps quackening!]
<Gwydion>: pffthehehe]
<Amos>: "Well, you have a start. Focus harder."
<Gwydion>: Right, mr frank
Gwydion magics harder
<Amos>: "It takes the willpower of champions to traverse the dream world casually"
<Amos>: "You have to use the connection with the other or your own magical abilities to connect two minds long enough to cross"
<Amos>: The tear in the dream world grows further, although still not a sizable amount to go through
Gwydion magics, even harder
<Amos>: "Just push harder and you'll be able to make something of a crossing. In time you'll gain enough force of will to do this within an instant"
Gwydion magics the hell out of it
<Amos>: The tear slowly inches bigger and bigger over the course of what seems to be 14 minutes, it is a large strain on Gwyd as he feels extremely woozy and headache ridden. But eventually the tear opens to a size one could walk right through like a door.
<Gwydion>: "So we just walk through?"
<Amos>: "Now, keep up your focus as best you can long enough for us to pass through"
<Amos>: "Yes, right this way" Amos gets out of the dream created chair which vanishes after and walks through the tear
Gwydion follows amos through while keeping his focus
<Amos>: Amos and Gwydion manage to cross through, the tear collapsing the second they make it to the other side
<Amos>: They have reached the dreamspace of Donnie
<Amos>: [take it away, maestro]
Donnie 's dreamscape is erratic, with various nonsensical dark palette parts swingling rapidly. In what appears to be the center is a young(er) version of Donnie in a mostly coherent forest-esque area, hunched over and sobbing
<Gwydion>: Why is donnie crying?
<Amos>: "This is his dream. It definitely means something"

<Gwydion>: Can we talk to him?
<Amos>: "Not in the sense that you'd communicate with conscious Donnie. This is his dreams, his unfiltered mind. What happens in here unless we 'wake' him are filed away as the usual dream fare"
<Gwydion>: Well Im going to try
Gwydion runs over to Donnie and asks "Heya buddy whats wrong?"
<Amos>: "Be careful, gwyd" he says over as he remains vigilant, looking out across the dreamscape
<Donnie>: (As you get closer to Donnie you can see a single large tree has a deep, fresh chunk taken out of it. The body of an older boy is lying at the base of the tree, bleeding profusely from under his shirt. Donnie's front is completely soaked in blood, and he's surrounded by tall, erratic wispy smoke)
Donnie falls backwards after hearing Gwyd, his eyes widening in terror and he crawls backwards, until his back hits a bush
<Donnie>: I.. I didn't, he, I, and, m-monst- and, and, and
Donnie begins violently shaking, tearing up and mumbling incohesively at Gwydion
<Donnie>: (the sound of thunder is booms extremely loudly form all direction, the entire dreamscape seems to pulse violently when this happens)
Amos stands, ready to pull the two out if things turn sour. He waits to see how Gwydion reacts.
<Amos>: [and gwyd brb'd...]
Gwydion hugs donnie "Its ok, whatever happend is over"
<Gwydion>: ha]
<Amos>: [gwysion pls]
<Gwydion>: your timing is terrible, bommer]
<Scag>: haha]
Donnie screams violently thrashes as Gwydion touches him, the erratic black smoke during thicker and more chaotic as the child seems to become entirely cased in the same black material, his eyes glowing white and losing their pupils. He gains 2 cat ears, and his hands scratch gwyd as they thrash with their newly formed claws
<Donnie>: "NO, I NEVER, I NEVER, AND HE, I CAN'T-"
Donnie is obviously cring as he goes back into his unintelligible shouts and murmers, this time sounding desperate and aggressive as he sands up and enters a wider, threatening stance
Gwydion keeps a hold of donnie and says "Its ok, whatever happend, it doesnt matter. This isnt real, its not happening, donnie. Im here for you"
Donnie 's clawed hand goes through the back of gwydion's stomach and continues extending until it stabs into a tree into the distance. Donnie has gone silent, save for extremely heavy breath that sounds like it was put through the "demonic" filter on an ipod recording software
<Amos>: [hope someone is keeping logs]
<HabeusKaiju>: not it
<HabeusKaiju>: ]
<HabeusKaiju>: I am on the shittiest comp]
<HabeusKaiju>: mines in the shop]
<Wrong_Way>: [I missed the chat earlier
Gwydion calms his fears using the spell amos taught him* and continues the hug trying to keep his composure "Let it out"
<Wrong_Way>: [If someone could give me the intro, i could do it]
<Donnie>: (The dreamscape roars with 2 more bursts of thunder, and 2 much more violent pulses go through the area, effectively causing a small earhtquake)
<Gwydion>: can gwyd feel the pain, Amos?]
<Amos>: Gwyd can feel a pain. It is not what one would expect and he doesn't seem to be dying.
<Amos>: Amos looks as if he was ready to intervene himself, but instead looks out to see the blank white man with red eyes somewhere off in the forest.
Gwydion bearhugs the hell out of donnie "Just let it out, donnie. What happend?"
Donnie struggles in vain against Gwydion, but ultimately goes limp in his arms. The smokey cloak dissipates and his arm goes back to normal, but the shadows are still violently emanating off of his skin. He sobs loudly into Gwydion's chest
<Gwydion>: muh shattered 10 yrold psyche]
Gwydion keeps holding donnie, and pats him on the back trying to comfort him.
<Donnie>: "I, -sob- I don't, -sob- he just, -sob- and then, -sob- they all -sob- I never, -sob- I couldn't, -sob-"
Donnie begins to shake again, and he tightly clutches Gwydion
Gwydion just tries to understand what hes saying but keeps a hold of him "Its ok...just slow down, Im here to help you donnie. No matter where you are I will always find a way to help you"
<Donnie>: (Thunder once again, this pulse is slightly less powerful than the original one)
<Donnie>: "They, they -sob- wanted me to, they hated -sob- and I should go, so then -sob, sob- they tried to, -sob- they, they tried -sob- to make me go, -sob- but I didn't wanna, wanna die, -sob- and the, and, then, I, I.."
Donnie shakes more violently, and goes back to just crying
Gwydion tries to calm him down "Shh, its ok, take a breath. Its ok, donnie." *me motions for amos to help in some way*
Amos raises a hand upward, the dreamscape around them calms down and the thunder does as well

<Gwydion>: "Just take it slow, its never as bad as you think it is."
<Donnie>: "I, I, they're, and I, -sob- I don't know, -sob- what, what it was, that, I did, -sob- but it's all my fault, and they'regonnakillme, -sob, sob- I don't wanna die, but, it's, -sob- I have to, monsters need, because -sob- I'm a monster, and I'm gonna -sob- they're gonna kill me now"

Donnie continues shaking, but more so in spasms now, constantly muttering "IdontwannadieIwdontwannadie"
<Gwydion>: "Youre not a monster donnie, you never were. And them? They cant hurt you, not now and not again. Youre not going to die, Im going to make sure of that. Im going to do everything in my power to protect you donnie."
Donnie has mostly stopped openly sobbing, but he continues to cray and have heavy, stifled breath. he won't stop shaking.
<Donnie>: [*cry]
<Donnie>: No, you're, not. You're just gonna, gonna lock me someplace, someplace else where everyone hates, me, because they should, and I'll, just be all alone, /forever/."
Gwydion pats him on the back and continues hugging "I dont hate you, no one should hate you. Id never ld never lock you away.....Donnie, I am and will always be your friend"
Donnie stops shaking, his arms stop returning the hug and going limp at his sides
<Donnie>: I have no friends.
<Gwydion>: Why do you think that?
<Donnie>: Everyone hates me.
<Gwydion>: Who told you that? Was it marky mark? Hes just a jerk sometimes, pay no attention. Buddy I dont hate you, I made you that awesome bracelet just to show how much I like you
<Donnie>: Everyone told me that. 'Cuz I'm a monster.
<Gwydion>: Youre not a monster, you could never be a monster. Trust me Im a good judge of character, and your the second nicest person ive ever met.
<Gwydion>: next to alina]
<Donnie>: I do /monster/ things. I hide all alone in the dark and I have claws, and, I hurt people, and, people don't like me, and, and, -sniff- people die.
<Gwydion>: You do what you do to help your friends and protect yourself. Donnie your not a monster, your a hero.
<Donnie>: I don't protect anything. I just hurt them.
<Gwydion>: You protected yourself, you saved me and revrb from bigpig. Youre a hero donnie whether you know it or not
Donnie looks up, as if recognizing Gwydion for the first time. The violent smokey wisps coming from his body suddenly stop entirely.
<Donnie>: Wait a minute, you're...
<Donnie>: Thunder is heard as almost an explosive, continuous booming noise. A rapid succession of pulses start ripping apart the fabric of the dreamscape, visible tears are starting to appear in all areas and the forest landscape surrounding Donnie starts falling apart
<Gwydion>: "Mr Frank, I think somethings wrong"
<Gwydion>: amos your q]
<Amos>: [time to leaves?]
<Gwydion>: no time to react]
<Donnie>: [not necessarily, but if you want to stay you better stabilize the dream somehow]
<Gwydion>: "Donnie just calm down, its just your friendly neighborhood wizard in to say hi. Im your friend"
<Gwydion>: his arm is still through his stomach right?]
Amos raises his hand once more. The dream's pulses slow down and the landscape stabilizes itself.
<Donnie>: [*hint, this is a dream of Donnie's past. Does past Donnie remember gwyd?]
<Donnie>: Gwyd, what, are..
<Gwydion>: he should?[
Donnie 's facial structure begins to change, reflecting a more accurately aged version of himself.
<Gwydion>: I told you, no matter where you are, I will be there for you.
<Donnie>: What, I... where are we?
<Gwydion>: Um...mr frank can tell you better than i can
<Donnie>: [also, no, his arm stopped being through his chest when you bear hugged him]
Amos walks over casually
<Amos>: "You're dreaming, Donnie"
<Donnie>: "What the heck are you... oh, OOOH, MY GOD."
<Gwydion>: he bear hugged him before he did that donnie]
<Gwydion>: he hugged him, and then got claw through him as a result[
Donnie lightly pushes himself away from Gwydion, looking around. The landscape of the forest has returned to a less tragic, more generic version of "just some forest"
<Donnie>: [nah, when he stopped freaking out and went limp his arm went back to normal]
<Gwydion>: ah right right]
<Donnie>: I've read about this. Lucid dreaming, right? When you're aware that you're dreaming? But I always wake up when that happens, what... what are you guys doing here?
<Gwydion>: Magic
<Amos>: "Its different. We're merely visiting. Magical reasons"
Donnie rubs his head and groans
<Donnie>: When did you guys, get... here...
Donnie jumps up and looks at both of them with a pissed off face
<Gwydion>: Not long ago...
<Donnie>: Wait a minute! Holy shit, you can't just /wander/ into my dream! You guys, what, this is PERSONAL! GREAGH MY GOOOOD, WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU!?"
<Amos>: "Gwyd was learning how to jump through dreams. You were the closest and strongest link. We came at an... inopportune time in your dreaming"
<Gwydion>: Donnie, relax Im your friend, and just wanted to see how you were, but what I saif was true Im there for you.
<Gwydion>: oh god did I piss off donnie? I thought wed grow closer....;~;]
<Wrong_Way>: [what if donnie was dreaming about girls or something gwyd
<Gwydion>: i will kill you ww]
<Wrong_Way>: you gotta knock]
<Wrong_Way>: [you can't kill me, i'm taking the logs.]
<Gwydion>: d-damnit]
<Wrong_Way>: [ww 1 gwyd 0]
Gwydion>: Tell that to reverb]
Donnie clutches at his hair tightly, growling loudly in almost a primal scream/yell. Ah he does so, the entire dreamscape is wiped away with one, giant, silent pulsation. Donnie wakes up in his bed.
Amos quickly whisks Gwyd back to his own dreamscape
<Amos>: "Well, there comes the risk of interfering with dreams, Gwyd. You could wake them up"
Donnie rubs his eyes, walking over and turning the light on in their dorm.
<Gwydion>: What happens if I do when im still in here?
<Amos>: "You're in the in between space. You can easily get back to the nearest dreamspace from there. In between space also is home to unsavory creatures.
<Donnie>: [is gwyd actually in his dorm room?]
<Amos>: [he's asleep, yeah]
<Amos>: "well, your mind is unless you become a fully oneiric being such as myself"
<Gwydion>: I figured youd hit him]
<Amos>: "I'll teach you that another day"
Donnie grumbles and walks over to Gwydion, shaking him lightly.
<Donnie>: "Hey. Gwyd. Gwydion. Hey. Get up."
<Amos>: "Now, Donnie is expecting you. We'll resume lessons tomorrow" Amos disappears into the dreamscape
Gwydion wakes up
<Gwydion>: "Hmm..?"
Donnie rubs at his eyes and groans lightly
<Donnie>: Hey, uhm, /weird/ question, but were you inside my dream just a second ago?
Gwydion yawns "whats up?
<Gwydion>: oh.....yes
<Donnie>: "Wait, for real?"
<Wrong_Way>: [gwyd is some kind of dream pervert]
<Amos>: [our dream adventures are fully chaste and school appropriate]
<Gwydion>: Mr Frank made me dream walk to the nearest person that I knew. Part of his training, you dont want to annoy that guy. He is a /monster/ when he wants to be. So I popped in quick, and said hi
Donnie rubs at his temples and growls under his breath
<Donnie>: Just, I don't think that you should be doing that to people unless you've got a good reason. So, uh, just, warn me next time.
<Gwydion>: I honestly have no clue what you were doing, I just found your dream version crying, gave him a hug and told him it was ok. Ill warn you next time, donnie. Sorry for intruding.
Donnie walks over, not listening, and turns the light back off. he lumbers over and falls into bed.
<Donnie>: Yeah, sure, I just don't like it.
<Gwydion>: >not listening]
<Gwydion>: well fuck everything]
Donnie immediately begins sleeping again, his steady breaths sounding like he'll probably grow into a snorer when he's older
<HabeusKaiju>: ha]
<Amos>: [so... that a wrap?]
<Gwydion>: yep]
<Gwydion>: wrap starts the warp
<Gwydion>: ]
<Amos>: [b-but I don't want the warp to overtake me]
