Though her thoughts were normal to herself, they would be strangely foreign to others, and she knew it because as she awoke on the bare hard ground of sand, dirt, and sharp gravel, a pleasant but firm voice in her mind told her so. It was "What others?" that her own mind thought. She looked at her surroundings first. It was either a sunrise or sunset. There were nothing but jagged rocks, jagged hills, and in the distance, jagged mountains of pale purple. Then she looked at herself. Naked, and dirty. She was surprised to see she was sporting a fairly large set of man parts visible a couple feet below her good sized firm and supple female breasts, and instantly her right hand went to touch below. Yes. She still had her girlness. As she gained her bearings she had faint memories of who she is. Here, there are no screams of agony, and there is no continual pain. Where she had been it was dark. There, it was infrared heat to see by, microwave boilings, cosmic ray searing, X-ray, and radio wavelengths to see, and it had been all very different. "Oh yes" out loud she spoke, "I was given a reprieve", and at that she had a soft cry. "Thank you" she said to the rising sun, realizing it was very cold compared to the rain of liquid sulfur, and lakes of melted rock she'd been used to. There was less gravity here, and it felt similar to a distant life she once had in the before time, when she killed the murderer who killed her family, and then killed the murderer's father out of pure hatred. For that she went to hell. And here, long after knowing she deserved hell, here is a reprieve. She finally rose to stand. She still had her body designed for the rigors of hell. Still had her powerful tall and wide wings, and that pressure gradient in her which can't be described easily to those without it, but with it she can withstand a vacuum or the pressures of bathing on the boiling sun. Oh. She was filthy with dried, and dusty birth goo. She spoke "I was told I'd be born paroled, didn't realize it'd be literally. This makes it what, at least a third time I've been born. How long must I have slept?" to nobody but the sand. "Try the wings", the voice in her mind told her, and she stretched them out to their magnificence. Turned to face the slight wind, and her weight reduced by half or so, the wind giving a lift. With a natural forward move that rippled down and back, the outer finger of support thrust forward, and up she went! Some smaller feathered wings which had been under her hair sprouted out, and gave aileron support to smooth her flight.

  20. <p>"This is Earth, the Earth I knew oh so long, painfully long ago. Those are ancient dry river beds, that's some kind of grass. But where am I? Oh WHO am I?" And at that the pleasant but firm voice in her mind simply pronounced "Verlaine". "A man's name, european..." and memories flooded her mind as she gained altitude to cruise. "In the first life I can recall, I now remember much more. I was a man! In my hell life, I'd been female for so very" and tears fell from her face, "very long, that I'd forgotten, and in hell names come and go, and now I'm both. I shall be Verlaine, most of the time a powerful woman of only love!" And out loud she declared this to the universe, and to that voice, which did answer back with "That should be your plan, for you are on parole". So she rose much higher, 20 miles or so, and to the northwest she saw green, steppes, and rivers. Below was an oval beige desert, hundreds of miles east to west, half that north to south. The Taklamakan!

  22. <p> After a circling tour, and slowly descending, she saw several human settlements. People. "How I miss people! Oh I despised them, but I miss them, and I am to only love them! Oh voice in me, this will be very hard." Verlaine landed softly near one place where they were growing things, a rise of a hill overlooking the 3 small houses, the stream, and a place where two small horses were kept. There was a large garden area. She spotted 3 able women and an old man, all were a deep bronze from the sun. There were also 3 large dogs, and they continually snarled loudly in Verlaine's direction. The old man signaled instructions, and they became a formidable defensive force. Their hushed and intense words were strange and unknown to Verlaine. She folded her wings to minimum on her back, stood, and approached them with her hands open, and suddenly 2 of the dogs were loosed on her. "Oh, please no", and with no fear other than that she might hurt the dogs, she got on her knees as they got to her, and got one in each arm, pressing their muzzles close to each other, and squeezed their mouths closed. An arrow and 2 spears came at her, and she turned to receive them on her wings, in which the arrow lightly stuck, the spears made dents but fell. Turning with the quieting dogs, she said, "Please, this is all in peace", in a gentle voice, which surprised even Verlaine. Again to her knees, she released the dogs, who were much more subdued now, softly snarling now. "I am here now, visiting in peace", and the pastorals spoke to one another, then one approached, calling her dogs to her. She looked to be 30, and probably the oldest sister. They were not very tall, just over 5 feet. "Lei xiaya dohmah?" she said. "Ohhhh that's either asking me who am I or what the hell do I want" is what Verlaine thought in her mind, but very rapidly. Also she was amazed at how fast she could think a thought. So Verlaine said "ta hehehe", a giggle of all things. Then, slowly, pointing at herself, "Verlaine", and repeated it a couple times. One of the women walked to the garden and came back with a long red Turnip, and walked to Verlaine, and put it in her hand.Create outline from here---
