  1. Many people view Greenland as a remote, cold, uninteresting island. Yet, some embrace its remoteness, which protects the pristine wilderness and astonishing nature. Living in Greenland might not be as simple as in Europe, but should be a vacation destination on everyone’s bucket list because of the rich cuisine, stunning nature, and diverse culture.

  3. It is said that remoteness limits the options for cuisine and shopping, due to goods having to be imported. However, the cuisine is unique and tasteful. The locals use whale meat to provide a fresh and unique texture and taste to their meals. The interesting blend of spices will warm you up despite the cold.

  5. Living in a remote location can be harsh. The primary means of transportation for Greenland are boats and kayaks. Yet, this helps preserve the lush and beautiful nature located here. There is less noise and pollution that is often associated with living in a city. You can see snowcap mountains and wildlife such as the rare arctic wolf. The most stunning of all are the northern lights.

  7. Despite Greenland being so remote, their culture has some interesting history. You can explore for remnants of the Vikings and Inuit in the dilapidated ruins. During the autumn weather, caribou hunting is close to the heart of the locals. These trips have great meaning stemming from the Inuit hunter past.

  9. Greenland is a beautiful country with diverse cultural heritage and a virgin nature. It’s suitable for travelers who are keen on hiking and eager to get acquainted with new culture and an outstanding cuisine. That being said, I couldn’t imagine living in Greenland. It would be limiting and provide less diversity and options than here in central Europe.
