  1. [02:19:07] Rilla led Kvaja down from Avalon, into Lengsel once more. This time, rather then the tower she would be led elsewhere, into the lab of the Medical school... Since she was teaching, there was no better place to be then a school, after all!
  2.
  3. "Alright! Firstly, have you been reading over the material? I'd like to know about where you are, so I can get a good idea of how much we're going to do today, alright?"
  4. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  6.
  7. [02:22:58] Trotting after Rilla she heads into the school. Kvaja was still hoping no animals were gonna be involved today. She nods. "I ready the book..I think I know what its talking about. The mana circuits were understandable enough. I needed to learn that already for medical training."
  8.
  9. She wasn't too confident given she had no idea how to just spring out necrotic energy. Her mind still boggled at the idea. But it would make Rilla feel more comfortable so she was gonna try her damnest.
  10. (Kvaja Granzer)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [02:31:16] As uncomfortable for Kvaja as it was, there were going to be animals... Birds, specifically. If only for the fact that that was what Tarquin and Rilla started on. And, thusly was what she could help the most about...
  14.
  15. "Alright, good. Today we'll be starting you off with a bird. But first I'll be explaining a bit about it and how to do it..."
  16.
  17. Rilla would move over to the desk, which, Kvaja would notice held a rather large box atop it. No doubt holding the subjects they'd be testing today...
  18.
  19. "Essentially, the key to Necromancy is... Your essentially rebinding where the soul goes back to the body. That's done by first pouring mana into the circuits to prepare the body, and then creating a bridge to the soul with the mana to coax it back down. From there, the soul is "stitched" in and held down."
  20.
  21. Rilla would nod, before continuing.
  22.
  23. "Now... For this, the best advice I can give you. And what allowed me to learn it, is that the amount of mana you use does not matter. It is in how consistent the flow is. If you use your mana too fast, and too much at a time you can either exhaust yourself before the soul is brought back, or... The body may explode. So it's tantamount to keep your mana low, and consistent."
  24.
  25. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  26. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  27.
  28. [02:37:40] She stares a tad upset at the prospect but moves near the box. Bringing out her test subject... She leaves it lay where it does and just holds out her palms. She coaxes the feelings she if anything that felt like it was doing something last time.
  29.
  30. Twenty minutes pass of her slowly trickling her mana out and hearing no objection from Rilla this must be normal.. Maybe she was too slow? I mean the mana was leaving her body she could feel that much. she peaked and say the slightly twitching body and loses a tad bit of control. The light of her mana spills out a bit and leave the air dusted with it for a moment...Luckily the bird is still fine...
  31.
  32. She continues her work letting the mana rest within the bird and hoping the pull she was trying to send on it was actually calling to its ess- The bird flops onto the floor and Kvaja jumps back...She has successfully done avian telekinesis...
  33. (Kvaja Granzer)
  34. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  35.
  36. [02:50:32] Rilla wouldn't say anything just yet. She'd just let Kvaja do her work... As much as she wanted to tell her she was doing it... Pretty wrong, it was important to let failures come... That was something else she'd been taught...
  37.
  38. But, after they failed. Rilla would bend down and pick the little bird up. She'd set it onto the table, and gently nod at Kvaja.
  39.
  40. "Not quite... Here. Move in front of the bird and hold your hand over it. Don't do anything with it. Just get yourself into position, and I will help you."
  41. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  42. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  43.
  44. [02:52:19] She nods getting into position and holding out her hands she waits promptly for Rilla. Doing her best to not look pouty or annoyed...Which was hard cause she felt like an angry child right now.
  45. (Kvaja Granzer)
  46. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  47.
  48. [02:52:55] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck asks, "Is something wrong Kvaja..?"
  49. [02:53:29] Rilla catches the looks she was trying to hide... Having a therapist as a teacher probably wasn't fun when trying to hide emotions...
  50. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  51. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  52.
  53. [02:53:42] Kvaja Granzer says, "Just frustrated.."
  54. [02:54:40] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck asks, "About?"
  55. [02:54:47] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck says, "You can talk to me Kvaja, I am here."
  56. [02:55:07] Kvaja Granzer says, "The process. I never really had to try for my magic. I just put myself in the right head space."
  57. [02:55:11] Kvaja Granzer says, "And got it."
  58. [02:55:18] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck says, "I see..."
  59. [02:55:39] Kvaja Granzer says, "If you haven't noticed..Not the smarter person ever."
  60. [02:55:45] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck says, "This can be frustrating, I admit. It's... Harder to learn. But I know you can do it."
  61. [02:55:53] Rilla places her hands on Kvaja's shoulders
  62. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  63. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  64.
  65. [02:55:58] Rilla Lithia-Brubeck says, "I have faith in you."
  66. [02:58:03] LOOC - Kvaja Granzer: (should I go into the dev again or wait for you to post a new log?
  67. [02:58:27] LOOC - Rilla Lithia-Brubeck: (You can post about repositioning yourself, but wait until I post again to start it.)
  68. [02:58:36] She nods leaning over and kissing Rilla's cheek.
  69.
  70. "Right. Dumb bird. Life time.." She keeps her hands outstretched and prepared for Rilla's instructions.
  71. (Kvaja Granzer)
  72. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  73.
  74. [02:58:38] LOOC - Rilla Lithia-Brubeck: (The dev, that is)
  75. [03:04:49] Rilla would nod, before moving around behind Kvaja. She would reach her arms out from behind, and take Kvaja's hand. Rilla would entwine her finger's in Kvaja's, while her other hand would rest on their shoulder.
  76.
  77. "The first step to raising anything is to use your mana to explore it's circuits. Don't just pour your mana in like a cup of water into a bowl. Imagine it like... Your pouring resin into a mold. And you need it to be poured evenly and smoothly. Observe..."
  78.
  79. Rilla would allow her mana to flow. First, through Kvaja, and then into the bird. Allowing Kvaja to feel how it felt... It would, perhaps, be a little bit chilling... The feeling of a magic that perverted the natural order was always a bit shocking... But mixed in to it was Rilla's emotions, her desires, her feelings...
  80.
  81. It would be almost uncomfortably polarizing... The uncomfortable mana of necromancy, with the comfort and safety and peace that came from Rilla's desires... And then... She would almost be able to see the circuits of the bird. Not with her sight, but through the mana... almost as if she were going over them herself.
  82.
  83. "Use your own mana now. Do it just like I am, slowly and consistently. I'll be here every step of the way."
  84.
  85. Rilla's voice would be smooth, monotone, but calming all the same. Relaxing, almost...
  86.
  87.
  88. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  89. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  90.
  91. [03:12:58] She nods getting only a little distracted by Rilla's touch before the chill of her magic work set in shocking her back to reality. She felt Rilla's desire and it motivated Kvaja to try in earnest again.
  92.
  93. She dug into what it was she needed.. The thing lay lifeless not fulfilling the purpose of Avians in the slightest. She pictured what it should be, the rush of wind, the pecking of bugs..Roosting in a nest..She thought about it all. And with her hands she could return it to that state. She let her mana flow touching into its wings first and drawing into the body..Slowly into the brain where she focused those feelings..Called for the bird to be what it was.
  94.
  95. She roosted her own thoughts there and kept the flow going not trying to force life back but make it want to be back. She kept at this doing her best to think of the beating heart and her own mana as blood. Eventually the bird squirms and lets out something like a caw from its deaden throat.
  96. Kvaja blinks and stops the flow to see it has taken hold..
  97.
  98. For a few weak squirms and clicking beak pecks it does..Till the bird lays motionless yet again.
  99.
  100. (Kvaja Granzer)
  101. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  102.
  103. [03:20:11] "Hm"
  104.
  105. Rilla would slowly allow her mana to stop flowing, before backing away for a moment. The bird had been risen, if only for a moment... But it wasn't long before it's soul was lost. Rilla would close her eyes, and give a gentle nod.
  106.
  107. "You did well for your first time, even with help. When Tarquin and I started, we couldn't even do that much."
  108.
  109. Rilla would look at Kvaja with pride. She didn't have much confidence, but Rilla could tell that she was going to be a natural.
  110.
  111. "We'll stop for today. Think on how you did, and how you did it today. And then next time, we'll see if we can't keep it around longer, alright?"
  112. (Rilla Lithia-Brubeck)
  113. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  114.
  115. [03:22:48] Nods feeling her hands having gone numb a while ago.
  116. Least it didn't explode her overly cautious stance on necromancy has probably helped it greatly in that regards. But delicate stitching of the soul seemed like mind boggling work there. She had little clue to go from here. But that is what Rilla was for right?
  117.
  118. (Kvaja Granzer)
