  8. >Yes

  10. [OUTPUT: Loading...]
  11. [OUTPUT: Game loaded successfully. Please enter command.]
  12. Uh, we're back on the ship, yea?
  13. [OUTPUT: Yes.]
  14. >Check on Topaz and the new gem wolf thing.
  15. [OUTPUT: The fluorite gem is still in its bubble.]
  16. >Aquire Common Snese
  17. [OUTPUT: Topaz is... she's about as fine as she could be after freaking out about the bubble.]
  18. Sense*
  19. >Set course for the lanmdba thing
  20. >With a stop at the shop island
  21. [OUTPUT: You set a course to the Lambda Sector, with a stop at the Tau Sector.]
  22. I can tell
  23. >Check ETA
  24. [OUTPUT: ETA: four hours, intermediary point two hours.]
  25. >Check todo list
  26. [OUTPUT: You're pretty sure most of your list had to do with things involving upgrading your ship.]
  27. [OUTPUT: Which is not exactly a feasible course of action.]
  28. [OUTPUT: The other one, unless I am mistaken, was to construct the Magnetizer.]
  29. [OUTPUT: Which isn't exactly something you can do without more Lapis Stone Shards.]
  30. >Examine loor
  31. loot
  32. From that goblin
  33. [OUTPUT: You got a longsword and a sniper rifle. Nothing special.]
  34. [OUTPUT: Speaking of rifles, you have 181.]
  35. [OUTPUT: Please enter command.]
  36. Are all the rifles sniper rifles?
  37. [OUTPUT: They are all merely plasma rifles.]
  38. Was the one we looted not a sniper rifle?
  39. [OUTPUT: Nothing special at all, really.]
  40. [OUTPUT: The one you looted was a sniper rifle.]
  41. >Examine difference
  42. [OUTPUT: Sniper rifles are more long range, and more damaging, as you saw. Regular rifles are cheap, and relatively weak in comparison.]
  43. >Take sniper rifle
  44. [OUTPUT: You already have.]
  45. >Leave all other rifles on ship
  46. [OUTPUT: You do so.]
  47. >Consider longsword and plasma saw
  48. [OUTPUT: The longsword is, quite frankly, entirely useless.]
  49. [OUTPUT: It is actually a solid weapon, not plasma.]
  50. [OUTPUT: The plasma saw is rather useless in non-utility situations.]
  51. >So which is less useless for combat
  52. [OUTPUT: The saw.]
  53. >Put the sword on the ship
  54. [OUTPUT: You do so.]
  55. Actually, just >check inventory
  56. [OUTPUT: AZURE INV: Water Vial, Mercurial Water Vial, Undulating Water Vial, Welding Equipment, Cthk'aryvt's Blessing/Curse x4, Gem Fragment x3, Ylahrthuian Salt x3, Amalgam Interface, Flipside Elixir, Gluon Destabilizer, Potion of the Nine, Bottle of Water, Draught of Tears x2, Incense Jar, Psionic Coffee Machine, Duopen, Sniper Rifle.]
  57. The OP King's not used to having to strategize.
  58. [OUTPUT: CYAN INV: δ-ψ-φ-Bioschema, Deactivated Vitae Canister, Medkit x2, Laser Pointer, Plasma Rifle.]

  60. What with usually being able to just roflstomp everything in their way.
  61. >Place psionic coffee machine
  62. [OUTPUT: Where would you like to put it?]
  63. [OUTPUT: Shall you just replace the old coffee machine?]
  64. >In a safe place
  65. No.
  66. [OUTPUT: Very well.]
  67. [OUTPUT: Shall you place them side-by-side?]
  68. [OUTPUT: Most of the ship is entirely safe, after all.]
  69. with the power of the grand Super Space Turtle, anything is possible
  70. [OUTPUT: Excluding the engine rooms.]
  71. Syre
  72. Sure
  73. [OUTPUT: You do so.]
  74. [OUTPUT: Now what?]
  75. >Examine ink amountsin printer
  76. [OUTPUT: You examine the shitty printer you have on your ship.]
  77. [OUTPUT: It contains one stack of paper, and two Ink Cartridges.]
  78. [OUTPUT: Are you sure you want to waste ammo on nothing?]
  79. No.
  80. [OUTPUT: You take one cartridge.]
  81. >How many shots are in a cartridge
  82. [OUTPUT: Two.]
  83. [OUTPUT: These things are inferior to Ink Canisters, of course.]
  84. >Consider if you'll have to print anything
  85. [OUTPUT: Probably not.]
  86. [OUTPUT: The internet and holoscreens are things that exist.]
  87. >Take the other one
  88. [OUTPUT: You do so.]
  89. [OUTPUT: Four shots, now.]
  90. >Examine gem fragments
  91. [OUTPUT: You examine the gem fragments you scrapped out of the Centurion Wardens.]
  92. [OUTPUT: As you recall, they fit into each other, yet did not complete each other fully.]
  93. >Consider type of gem
  94. [OUTPUT: Hmm.]
  95. [OUTPUT: You stare at the things carefully.]
  96. [OUTPUT: Looks like... some sort of onyx?]
  97. >Ask Cyan for one of her medkits, just in case
  98. [OUTPUT: She gladly hands it over the second you point out you have none.]
  99. [OUTPUT: Then, Cyan looks out a porthole, as if contemplating something in deep though.]
  100. [OUTPUT: A few seconds pass, and she looks over, somewhat shyly.]
  101. >Look to see if Grayholdian ships appear
  102. Oh
  103. [OUTPUT: "Uh, I need a huge favor from you."]
  104. >"What is it?"
  105. [OUTPUT: "Can I, um. Borrow your phone for a bit? I should probably talk to my parents. After being gone for two years."]
  106. [OUTPUT: She looks away. "Sorry, that was stupid."]
  107. [OUTPUT: "I probably shouldn't have asked."]
  108. >"No, no, of course you can."
  109. >Hand her your phone
  110. What method of communication did we give Topaz then?
  111. [OUTPUT: Cyan's eyes brighten. "Oh! Um. Thanks. I really appreciate this."]
  112. [OUTPUT: The ship's communications, of course.]
  113. [OUTPUT: They're pretty accessible.]
  114. Right...
  115. >Give her some privacy
  116. [OUTPUT: Cyan taps in a number, and immediately walks off into a corner.]
  117. [OUTPUT: You can hear the excited screaming on the other end the second she goes. "Uh, hey. It's Sola."]
  118. [OUTPUT: But, you give her some privacy.]
  119. [OUTPUT: Now what?]
  120. Did we just miss finding out she's actually a serial killer.
  121. [OUTPUT: Cyan is not a serial killer.]
  122. >Wonder if you could safeguard Strangelove against hacking
  123. [OUTPUT: Hmm.]
  124. [OUTPUT: Theoretically speaking, anything's possible.]
  125. >Try it
  126. [OUTPUT: All you'd strictly need is the right software, and some genius.]
  127. [OUTPUT: Tails. No success.]
  128. >What software?
  129. >wonder whether you could cut out whatever connects strangelove to the network physıcally
  130. [OUTPUT: Presumably some high end programming software.]
  131. >Consider programming programming software
  132. [OUTPUT: You cannot, as far as you can see. The data waves exist in the physical realm. You'd have to block Strangelove off from external stimuli.]
  133. okay
  134. [OUTPUT: Anyhow, you COULD create programming software, sure.]
  135. [OUTPUT: That might be fun, actually.]
  136. >wonder whether you could make strangelove unıdentıfıable as a robot
  137. [OUTPUT: Clarify what you mean by unidentifiable.]
  138. lıke
  139. obscure theır ıdentıty?
  140. [OUTPUT: Hmm.]
  141. >Create programming software
  142. [OUTPUT: With the right firewall, you could probably arrange that, yeah.]
  143. [OUTPUT: You begin to construct programming software.]
  144. [OUTPUT: You do so until Cyan walks back into the room, an hour later.]
  145. [OUTPUT: She returns your phone immediately.]
  146. >Estimate progress
  147. [OUTPUT: "Thanks. I really needed that."]
  148. >"Any time."
  149. [OUTPUT: You're about 45% finished with the first draft of it.]
  150. >Continue, why not
  151. [OUTPUT: You continue working until you reach the halfway mark of the trip. Draft 65% complete.]
  152. [OUTPUT: Congratulations. You have now passed through the delta and omega sectors.]
  153. >Scan the sector
  154. [OUTPUT: The Tau Sector possesses nothing of value whatsoever, save the town you visited earlier.]
  155. ...are we supposed to explore sectors we cross?
  156. >Land on the town
  157. [OUTPUT: You COULD, but that would take up quite a bit of time.]
  158. [OUTPUT: You dock at the shipyards.]
  159. [OUTPUT: You can finally upgrade your damn ship.]
  160. Will the main plot wait forever
  161. [OUTPUT: Perhaps.]
  162. >Consider whether you have to pay for space to work on ships
  163. [OUTPUT: You can get some robots to do it for you, at a price. Alternatively, you can use the equipment for free, and do it yourself.]
  164. Hmm.
  165. >Ask Cyan how confident she feels, and whether she minds doing it
  166. >Also price check
  167. [OUTPUT: "Oh, sure! I can probably do this. It's nothing like having to fix a volatile backup engine, at least." She grins at you at that last reference to your mistake.]
  168. [OUTPUT: 100 cash strings an hour.]
  169. >How many hours?
  170. [OUTPUT: Eh, maybe five or six.]
  171. [OUTPUT: Eight, at most, Cyan assures you.]
  172. >Ask Cyan to do it while you go sell stuff
  173. [OUTPUT: She assures you it is no problem.]
  174. >First, look up uses of psionic coffee
  175. [OUTPUT: You can see Topaz sitting on the edge of the hatch into the world as you begin to head over to the market proper.]
  176. waıt ıs the coffee machıne psıonıc or ıs ıt the coffee ıt makes
  177. I was never quıte clear on that
  178. [OUTPUT: The coffee machine is psionic.]
  179. oh okay
  180. >"Hey Topaz, want to come along?"
  181. How does makıng a coffee machıne psıonıc help ın any way
  182. [OUTPUT: Topaz considers it for a second. "Sure, why not? Catch me." She proceeds to just sort of slide off of the hatch, and drop toward the ground.]
  183. [OUTPUT: It is presumably more efficient.]
  184. >Catch her
  185. [OUTPUT: You catch her successfully.]
  186. I'm almost dissappointed.
  187. disappointed*
  188. [OUTPUT: You head into the market.]
  189. [OUTPUT: What shall you do?]
  190. >Go to the sell robot
  191. [OUTPUT: You walk over to the sellbot.]
  192. [OUTPUT: What shall you sell?]
  193. >Price check plasma rifles
  194. [OUTPUT: 5 ψ per rifle.]
  195. >Sell all except Cyan's
  196. >Wonder about Topaz's inventory
  197. [OUTPUT: + 900 ψ.]
  198. [OUTPUT: She's literally got nothing.]
  199. [OUTPUT: Well, save for the clothes on her back, of course.]
  200. >Price check psionic coffee machine.
  201. [OUTPUT: The robots chuckle at you. "THOSE JUNK HUNKS ONLY SELL BIG UP IN GRAYHOLD."]
  202. >Wonder about flipping psionic coffee machines
  203. [OUTPUT: There are no psionic coffee machines here. You would have bought them if there were any here.]
  204. Aw
  205. >Price check longsword, oak crates, and computer parts
  206. [OUTPUT: Longsword will sell for 10 ψ, the crates for a total of 3 ψ, and the computer parts for 15 ψ.]
  207. Hmm.
  208. >Ask Topaz if she knows how to use a sword for some reason
  209. [OUTPUT: "Maybe? I... really don't know anything myself. It's sad. I should just be able to REMEMBER, but..." She drifts off from there.]
  210. >Offer her the longsword
  211. [OUTPUT: She takes it, hesitantly.]
  212. >Sell the crates and parts
  213. [OUTPUT: You do so.]
  214. >Check balance
  215. [OUTPUT: CUR: 1127 Cash Strings (ψ).]
  216. I love the part where I know there is no way I am making two posts for this dop :V
  217. >Go to buybot or whatever
  218. [OUTPUT: You walk over to the series of robots selling their wares.]
  219. >price check medkits and destabilizers again
  220. [OUTPUT: The prices have now changed.]
  221. >To
  222. [OUTPUT: The medkits go for 15 ψ each, and the destabilizers to 25.]
  223. Hrm, they got cheaper?
  224. [OUTPUT: They did. Odd.]
  225. >Check for upgraded versions or something
  226. [OUTPUT: There are none.]
  227. [OUTPUT: Well, that you can get here.]
  228. Alright, uh... Guess we should stock up
  229. [OUTPUT: So it seems.]
  230. [OUTPUT: How many will you buy?]
  231. Wait a sec
  232. Uh, 11 destabilizers and 24 medkits.
  233. [OUTPUT: That'll be 635 ψ.]
  234. Ye
  235. Well now I'm paranoid as to what's coming.
  236. inb4 two flagships wombo combo
  237. [OUTPUT: Is there anything else you desire to purchase?]
  238. Hmm.
  239. >Lapis stone shards?
  240. [OUTPUT: They have two up for grabs, at 50 ψ each.]
  241. >Examine size
  242. [OUTPUT: One's rather sizable, actually. The other is the size of a fingernail, quite frankly.]
  243. >Buy the large one first
  244. >buy large one
  245. [OUTPUT: You buy it.]
  246. >Look for ink canisters
  247. [OUTPUT: A small corner shop has two, next to what appears to be a diluted Potion of the Nine.]
  248. [OUTPUT: They're up for sale at 20 ψ each.]
  249. [OUTPUT: Each is good for five Duopen shots.]
  250. Hmm.
  251. >Ask about potion
  252. [OUTPUT: "THAT? THAT FLUID WAS EMITTED FORCEFULLY FROM MY ROBOTIC STERNUM DURING MAINTENANCE PERIOD. I BOTTLED IT AND MIXED IT WITH WATER."]
  253. ...
  254. [OUTPUT: "I'LL GIVE IT TO YOU FOR 500 ψ."]
  255. >"Do you know what it does?"
  256. ((Alright, let me change my anem to TwinBuilder))
  257. [OUTPUT: "NO IDEA."]
  258. Well, nevermind.
  259. So the Potion of the Nine is robotic Maintence Fuild?
  260. >Buy both cainsters
  261. [OUTPUT: Perhaps it is.]
  262. canisters*
  263. [OUTPUT: You buy both.]
  264. >Don't buy the Potion.
  265. >Tell him about how you bought pure potion for much cheaper
  266. [OUTPUT: You don't have the money for it.]
  267. [OUTPUT: "NONSENSE. THAT MUST CLEARLY BE SOMETHING DIFFERENT. I GOT THE NAME OF MY PRODUCT FROM A FRIEND, NOT A RIVAL. OR WAS THAT FRIEND ALSO A RIVAL?"]
  268. Hmm.
  269. >Look for objects of interest for sale
  270. [OUTPUT: Looking around, you do find one thing.]
  271. [OUTPUT: The robot selling it calls it a Vardiveig Holoscroll.]
  272. [OUTPUT: It is up for sale at 35 ψ.]
  273. >Ask what it is
  274. >Expect no answer
  275. [OUTPUT: You may only examine products after you buy them.]
  276. >Buy it
  277. [OUTPUT: You do so.]
  278. >Check balance, then examine
  279. [OUTPUT: CUR: 367 Cash Strings (ψ).]
  280. [OUTPUT: Vardiveig Holoscroll: A tube of pure glass, with inert quartz caps. Contains four small cylinders of inert peridot. Making contact with eldritch wisdom is a blessing, for even if it drives one mad, it allows one to serve a grander purpose, for posterity. ]
  281. Hmm.
  282. [OUTPUT: The robot informs you they got it from a scrap collector out in the Gamma Sector.]
  283. >Ask robot what it does
  284. [OUTPUT: All the robot knows about it is that it came in from the direction of the Lambda Sector.]
  285. Alright...
  286. >Ask Topaz/Call Cyan, ask if they need anything
  287. [OUTPUT: "Uhm, I'm kinda hungry, I suppose. I haven't eaten since I woke up, at least."]
  288. [OUTPUT: Cyan politely requests you get her an energy wrench.]
  289. Hmm, IIRC, gems don't need to eat in SU.
  290. But whatever.
  291. [OUTPUT: These aren't fully gems, are they?]
  292. well we're humans
  293. >Go look for an energy wrench
  294. [OUTPUT: These are all half-gems.]
  295. I mean, we haven't eaten the entire game.
  296. [OUTPUT: Energy wrenches cost 15 cash strings.]
  297. >Buy it
  298. >Go buy some food
  299. [OUTPUT: You can get some food and drink for about 10 ψ per person, you'd bet.]
  300. [OUTPUT: Robots have high supply of this shit, and literally zero demand.]
  301. >Do that x3
  302. [OUTPUT: You do so.]
  303. Food and drink for how long?
  304. [OUTPUT: That's about all there is of interest here.]
  305. [OUTPUT: About a month's supply.]
  306. Well then.
  307. [OUTPUT: Like I said, no demand.]
  308. >Buy another x3, just in case.
  309. [OUTPUT: You do so.]
  310. >Return
  311. [OUTPUT: You head back to the ship.]
  312. [OUTPUT: Cyan is still working on it, but she assures you she's nearly done.]
  313. >Hand her the energy wrench
  314. [OUTPUT: She gratefully accepts it, and immediately gets back to work.]
  315. >Watch her, try to learn something, maybe
  316. [OUTPUT: You and Topaz sit there for an hour, until Cyan finishes.]
  317. Did we learn anything
  318. In that hour
  319. [OUTPUT: You understand basically nothing, as you missed the part where she took everything apart.]
  320. Whoops
  321. [OUTPUT: But, hey. Now you know how to fit two plasma railguns into ship sockets.]
  322. >Check balance
  323. [OUTPUT: CUR: 292 Cash Strings (ψ).]
  324. >Examine new additions to shop
  325. ship
  326. [OUTPUT: You've got two automated railguns, a gigantic plasma cannon, an extra repulsor thruster, a mechanical arm, and some pretty neon lights.]
  327. [OUTPUT: Pardon me. Two extra repulsor thrusters.]
  328. >Cross it off the to-do list
  329. [OUTPUT: You cross it off the entirely mental list.]
  330. [OUTPUT: Now, onwards, to Lambda, you suppose?]
  331. >Consider giving Topaz destabilizers
  332. [OUTPUT: She should be fine with them.]
  333. [OUTPUT: Would you like to distribute medkits and destabilizers between the three of you?]
  334. Uh, yea.
  335. [OUTPUT: You do so.]
  336. >Continue programming?
  337. [OUTPUT: Very well.]
  338. [OUTPUT: You continue programming for another two hours, you suppose. Cyan and Topaz actually go to sleep like normal people.]
  339. [OUTPUT: Before you know it, congrats. You are now in the Lambda Sector.]
  340. Scan sector.
  341. [OUTPUT: There's a single major structure.]
  342. >Examine
  343. [OUTPUT: It appears to be a portion of some sort of mountain on Earth, with actual GRASS, and WATER! An abandoned town below is constructed around a limestone citadel on the face of the partial mountain.]
  344. [OUTPUT: Several waterfalls descend off the edge of the island-structure into the unknown abyss below.]
  345. >Land at the edge of town
  346. [OUTPUT: You land at the edge, and descend onto the earth below.]
  347. [OUTPUT: The sky actually looks blue from here. In fact, it appears like the sky has been modified by occult means from here to appear as if it were Earth.]
  348. Hmm.
  349. >Consider Topaz
  350. [OUTPUT: You look at her. "You... you go on ahead. I kind of feel... nauseous here."]
  351. >Nod, leave.
  352. [OUTPUT: You head onwards, into the town.]
  353. [OUTPUT: The town itself appears decrepit, slightly dusty.]
  354. Hmm.
  355. >Enter one of the buildings
  356. [OUTPUT: You hear a thumping from one of the older houses, near to the stone stairs to the citadel.]
  357. we should make a stupıd laconıc page for the serıes haha
  358. [OUTPUT: Which house?]
  359. Nevermind
  360. >Look into thumping house
  361. [OUTPUT: You peer into the thumping house. Before you know it, masses of flesh and limbs crash through the front entrance, spewing forth, and separating in turn.]
  362. [OUTPUT: Some of them appear... familiar.]
  363. >Examine
  364. [OUTPUT: They are living creatures. You cannot examine them in this current state. Besides, one of them is lunging at you anyway.]
  365. >Fight
  366. [OUTPUT: With an ungodly screech, of course.]
  367. [OUTPUT: You engage the three things in combat.]
  368. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  369. >Observe
  370. [OUTPUT: Cognitite Core: 8/8 HP. NOTES: A spatial vortex, rippling with the essence of unadulterated cosmic potency. A number of bloodshot eyeballs of unknown composition occasionally emerge from within the darkness. The tides shift and spray about, truly unpredictable from our current position in reality.]
  371. [OUTPUT: Bloodletter: 8/8 HP. NOTES: A mass of pulpous, warm, morphing flesh with both bovine and humanoid limbs sticking out of it. The thing's three insect mouths exhale with the foul stench of rotting bodies. A tidal wave splinters through the barriers of a town's walls effortlessly. Once they are reduced to rubble, there is never any going back.]
  372. [OUTPUT: Worker Vispider: 8/8 HP. NOTES: A spindly creature covered in bristly hair. The thing boasts eight twisted legs, and a gaping hole in its abdomen. The hole is filled with naught, save a navy crystal, coated in the creature's own fluids. Sailing out into unknown seas, one might find it pleasant to discover that seeking land is not always the most beneficial option.]
  373. Which one is the one lunging?
  374. [OUTPUT: The Bloodletter. The one that seemed familiar.]
  375. >See which have water blood
  376. [OUTPUT: The Cognitite Core lacks vital fluids, and the Worker Vispider has elixir blood. However, the Bloodletter has water-based blood.]
  377. >Azure: Make a mercury water shield between you and the bloodletter
  378. >Cyan: Make a plasma shield between you and the enemies
  379. [OUTPUT: Double shields. Very well.]
  380. I'm pretty sure I've almost always done double shields.
  381. [OUTPUT: You both pull up your shields. The Bloodletter collides with the mercury-filled water one, and immediately screeches in agony as the fluid seeps into its flesh and mouths.]
  382. [OUTPUT: The thing twitches several times, before collapsing to the ground, inert. Who knew mercury poisoning could deal with these things so well?]
  383. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  384. [OUTPUT: The Worker Vispider crawls a few steps forward. The navy gem embedded in its chest opens up yet another internal wound. Blood seeps over the crystal, and the thing begins to glow.]
  385. ...
  386. Huh.
  387. [OUTPUT: With a loud hiss, a meter-thick beam of pure plasma collides with Cyan's shield.]
  388. [OUTPUT: Smoke pours from the Vispider's gaping wound, and the Cognitite Core observes silently.]
  389. [OUTPUT: YOUR TURN.]
  390. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  391. >Observe Surroundings(?)
  392. >Azure: Send mercury water into the worker's chest wound
  393. [OUTPUT: You are still within the abandoned, crumbling town of outside the Lambda citadel.]
  394. >Cyan: Strike the wound after Azure has hit it with electricity
  395. [OUTPUT: You pummel the Vispider with a hydrokinetic burst of mercury water to the chest wound.]
  396. We're all controlling the same character.
  397. [OUTPUT: The thing hisses somewhat, and shrieks out as electricity destroys its nervous system.]
  398. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  399. [OUTPUT: The Bloodletter lies upon the ground, still twitching, useless. The Worker Vispider is similiarly incapacitated.]
  400. [OUTPUT: The Cognitite Core, on the other hand, is not.]
  401. inb4 core reveals self as minboss
  402. hah
  403. [OUTPUT: Vile whispers flood the air around you all. The four inert peridot cylinders of the Vardiveig Holoscroll burn with heat in your inventory.]
  404. uh oh, the scroll is going to do something
  405. so much for being inert
  406. [OUTPUT: Gray mist surrounds Cyan.]
  407. [OUTPUT: The eyes of the Core all blink in unison, and spines of fog impale Cyan many times over.]
  408. [OUTPUT: An apatite gem drops to the earthy ground.]
  409. [OUTPUT: YOUR TURN.]
  410. Crap.
  411. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  412. >Get gem
  413. [OUTPUT: You grab Cyan's gem.]
  414. >Examine holoscroll
  415. Don't you just love traps?
  416. [OUTPUT: The holoscroll is once more inert. It seemed to respond to the Core's emission of eldritch whispers, however.]
  417. >ASSAULT, disrupt the Cognitite Core with a wash of mercury-water. (Everyone agreed on attack?)
  418. sure
  419. Sure.
  420. >argee
  421. >Hang onto holoscroll
  422. [OUTPUT: You splash the Core in the manifold eyes with mercurial water.]
  423. [OUTPUT: The liquid seems to sizzle through the optical flesh. The eyes blink once, seemingly unable to feel pain.]
  424. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  425. Crap, attack was ineffective!
  426. [OUTPUT: The Bloodletter expires due to mercury poisoning.]
  427. [OUTPUT: The Worker Vispider is paralyzed, as well.]
  428. [OUTPUT: Mist forms around the Core, forming into solid spines.]
  429. [OUTPUT: YOUR TURN.]
  430. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  431. >Observe.
  432. [OUTPUT: Worker Vispider: 2/8 HP. Mercury-poisoned.
  433. [OUTPUT: Cognitite Core: 7/8 HP. NOTES: A spatial vortex, rippling with the essence of unadulterated cosmic potency. A number of bloodshot eyeballs of unknown composition occasionally emerge from within the darkness. The tides shift and spray about, truly unpredictable from our current position in reality.]
  434. So all of these things are in some way connected to the ocean...
  435. Some eldritch god?
  436. There's A Woker Vispider on your lawn
  437. In any chance, check inventory.
  438. Our inventory.
  439. [OUTPUT: AZURE INV: Medkit x9, Water Vial, Mercurial Water Vial, Undulating Water Vial, Welding Equipment, Cthk'aryvt's Blessing/Curse x4, Gem Fragment x3, Ylahrthuian Salt x3, Amalgam Interface, Flipside Elixir, Gluon Destabilizer, Potion of the Nine, Bottle of Water, Draught of Tears x2, Incense Jar, Duopen, Sniper Rifle, Ink Cartridge x2, Gluon Destabilizer x3, Ink Canister x2, Vardiveig Holoscroll, Month's Supply of Food and Water x2.]
  440. I say make a bubble shield.
  441. What is the undulating water?
  442. or hm
  443. Poison
  444. [OUTPUT: Poisoned water from the Psi Sector.]
  445. Be careful, please.
  446. Ah.
  447. >Defend, bubble shield. I guess.
  448. [OUTPUT: You construct a bubble shield.]
  449. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  450. [OUTPUT: The Worker Vispider expires due to mercury poisoning.]
  451. (I was hoping the Undulating Water was something eldritch that would've been super effective against the Cognitite Core.)
  452. (Oh well.)
  453. [OUTPUT: The Cognitite Core forms yet more mist around its vortex. Several spines of fog are fired at you. Your shield is broken, though you are unharmed.]
  454. [OUTPUT: YOUR TURN.]
  455. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  456. I'm feeling like going on the offensive.
  457. On the other hand, the Core instakilled Cyan.
  458. Maybe we should wait until she regenerates.
  459. You should try figuring out its weakness though, right?
  460. [OUTPUT: You cannot regenerate during combat, unless there is a boss phase shift.]
  461. She won't regen until we win, I imagine
  462. Oh.
  463. Ah.
  464. What's the Ylahrthuian Salt?
  465. We have eldritch stuff but
  466. [OUTPUT: Some crystalline dark essence you got from the last Bloodletter you killed.]
  467. I'm trying to find something that will do some real damage.
  468. Doesn't seem wise to use it
  469. Ah.
  470. Ok, regular assault then? I'll write up some flavor text in a sec.
  471. Doesn't it seem to react to it's enviroment?
  472. Assault, swirl mercury-water around to disrupt the vortex as well as hitting the eyes?
  473. Maybe try to find a way to get rid of the misty powers it holds, perhaps?
  474. Hmm
  475. How would we do that...
  476. Or try out something that isn't liquid.
  477. ooh.
  478. It seems to be liquid biased, or perhaps it is just more resistant to it.
  479. Blow really hard
  480. We have a sniper rifle.
  481. That...
  482. That should work.
  483. Alternatively, we could make a water fan thing.
  484. Water fan?
  485. Something solid will fork for the liquid part.
  486. But the mist is a problem.
  487. Eh, snipe it?
  488. Let's snipe it.
  489. Alright, but be careful.
  490. [OUTPUT: Shall you use your Sniper Rifle?]
  491. Yea
  492. [OUTPUT: Very well.]
  493. [OUTPUT: You fire. Heads. The beam sails into the vortex, and does not exit out the other end. The thing emits a vile sound, a mixture between chuckling and gurgling.]
  494. [OUTPUT: ENEMY TURN.]
  495. It seems to work, I guess, but watch out.
  496. Never trust something that can chuckle and gurgle. Never.
  497. Usually it comes back to kick you in the butt.
  498. [OUTPUT: You are speared through the arm thrice by mist spears. You drop the rifle, and scream out in pain. You just barely keep a hold on Cyan's gem.]
  499. [OUTPUT: YOUR TURN.]
  500. [OUTPUT: ASSAULT / UTILIZE / DEFEND / ABSCOND / OBSERVE]
  501. Oh dear.
  502. >Put Cyan in inventory
  503. >Observe.
  504. Aren't we near water?
  505. Or anything liquid by chance.
  506. [OUTPUT: Azure Lapis: 10/15 HP. ]
  507. [OUTPUT: Cognitite Core: 4/8 HP. NOTES: A spatial vortex, rippling with the essence of unadulterated cosmic potency. A number of bloodshot eyeballs of unknown composition occasionally emerge from within the darkness. The tides shift and spray about, truly unpredictable from our current position in reality.]
  508. I think we should get the creature away from the ocean... or whatever this large body of water is.
  509. Defend, medkit, or something?
  510. [OUTPUT: The nearest body of water is a waterfall descending off the edge of the island.]
  511. >Defend.
  512. >git gud
  513. >Defend.
  514. No, don't defend
  515. DODGE DOGE DODGE!
  516. DOGE DODGE
  517. [OUTPUT: What shall it be?]
  518. >git gud and DODGΞ
  519. Dont defend it wont work! God dammit.
  520. DODGE! LIKE A GOD DANG NINJA!
  521. Ugh, there's too much spam for me to read stuff.
  522. >DODGΞ
  523. Hmm. >Aggress: Pick up sniper rifle, fire another shot.
  524. Whatever, I'll go like five minutes early.
  525. [OUTPUT: Remember. Reloading is a free action, as is priming explosives.]
  526. Well that worked too.
  527. Destabilize
  528. Don't we have to reload the rifle?
  529. We're too close?
  530. Not really.
  531. [OUTPUT: Would you like to destabilize the Core's gluons?]
  532. ye
  533. Uh...
  534. Try shooting the legs.
  535. [OUTPUT: There are none.]
  536. If we throw it into the void, it probably won't hit us?
  537. Yeah, do that.
  538. Thats awkward.
  539. Throw it in the vortex.
  540. Well...
  541. [OUTPUT: You prime a Gluon Destabilizer, and toss it into the vortex.]
  542. CU are you okay
  543. I feel like that fairy from Legend of Zelda
  544. or are you jar jar in disguise
  545. Hey Listen! all day long over here.
  546. [OUTPUT: Everything is silent for a moment, until burning flames flow forth from the vortex, the thing screeching all the while.]
  547. Yay, it's dead! Hopefully.
  548. Is it working?
  549. Hey don't make me kek.
  550. Sigh, already using our precious supplies.
  551. [OUTPUT: The being rises into the air, eyes disappearing. One eye remains, and crystallizes, before falling to the floor.]
  552. [OUTPUT: You have prevailed.]
  553. Well.
  554. Woohoo!
  555. That is amazing.
  556. [OUTPUT: Cyan regenerates with a glow of light blue energy.]
  557. inb4 zero l00t
  558. [OUTPUT: Would you like to loot the enemies?]
  559. I should be less stingy, maybe.
  560. >yesa
  561. >Yes
  562. Loot 'em and run off to heal.
  563. Loot!!!!
  564. >Loot, then examine wounds.
  565. Like really you look like you got a hole in your arm.
  566. Three, actually.
  567. Hot damn.
  568. [OUTPUT: You get three Ylarthuian Salt from the Bloodletter, an Eye of Nyar'yothul from the Core, and three Wills of Ohthmog from the spider. ITEM PACT: CANNOT REMOVE FROM INVENTORY UNLESS USED.]
  569. OH NOES
  570. Oh, three differennt eldritch abominations.
  571. >Examine latter two
  572. Damnson
  573. Hrm, was the gem in the worker a gem?
  574. [OUTPUT: No.]
  575. [OUTPUT: The Wills are literally just fragments of the shard in the spider.]
  576. [OUTPUT: The Eye of Nyar'yothul is the crystalline eye that persisted post-death.]
  577. I think I'mma write up that second post that berates the OP King now.
  578. aıgh
  579. [OUTPUT: Both radiate an unholy cosmic energy.]
  580. interestingf
  581. wait do ALL of htem ahve the item pact
  582. Ingredients, maybe
  583. [OUTPUT: All of them, yes.]
  584. >buff pologistinator
  585. >Use a medkit
  586. [OUTPUT: You use a medkit. Would you like to continue onwards?]
  587. Yes
  588. [OUTPUT: You head up the stone steps, Cyan right behind you.]
  589. I wish there was a god damn cat in here to keep us company.
  590. Oh wait.
  591. There is one.
  592. :3
  593. Oh, you did.
  594. way ahead of you
  595. [OUTPUT: It takes several dozens of minutes, but you reach the top. Inwards, there lies a stone gateway behind a fountain, with a sign above the door.]
  596. Wat, how large are the stairs.
  597. >Read sign
  598. [OUTPUT: The sign is in faded Rodarbi text, reading thusly.]
  599. [OUTPUT: These are but the gateways into the dark sea of a greater existence. Step forth, and you may never fully return to the world from whence you came.]
  600. >Forward
  601. Agree!
  602. [OUTPUT: You step forward. With little effort, you pass around the fountain, and push open the gates.]
  603. I'm gonna get him to have a clone earthbomb the Giant and then Tem Hero for the kill.
  604. [OUTPUT: You are now within the courtyard of the Lambda Manufactory.]
  605. Or the other way around.
  606. holy shıt those grenades are expensıve
  607. Why does a manufactory have a courtyard anyway
  608. [OUTPUT: The courtyard is filled with what appears to be... grass.]
  609. [OUTPUT: There is nothing within, at all.]
  610. [OUTPUT: Save for a staircase upwards, to the gates of the citadel proper.]
  611. >Upwards
  612. [OUTPUT: You take one step forward.]
  613. [OUTPUT: A clanking chimes through the air, a mix of chains and bells.]
  614. [OUTPUT: The wind chills you to the bone.]
  615. [OUTPUT: Cyan grabs your wrist subconsciously, for something resembling support.]
  616. I almost want to say screw Topaz and leave tbh, but
  617. >Forward
  618. [OUTPUT: You take another step forward.]
  619. [OUTPUT: The gates behind you slam shut with an earthen click.]
  620. [OUTPUT: Meanwhile, the metallic doors to the citadel proper glow along their artistic grooves, shining with navy light.]
  621. [OUTPUT: They swing open silently, and a being steps forth, at least seven feet tall.]
  622. >Examine
  623. >Examine
  624. [OUTPUT: You are now engaged in combat.]
  625. [OUTPUT: Eldritch Graveguard: 28/28 HP. NOTES: The emaciated husk of a possibly undead cloaked being, a heavy-looking harvest blade firmly grasped within their hands. A soundless bell dangles from a chain around their neck, along with a key. Celestial attendants hide all manner of rituals, certain to reveal nothing, for true enlightenment need not be shared.]
  626. I love these flavor texts
  627. very descriptive
  628. anyway, >BATTLE MENU
  629. as is customary
  630. [OUTPUT: ERROR.]
  631. [OUTPUT: Would you like to save your game?]
  632. >Yes.
  633. >Y
  634. [OUTPUT: Saving...]
  635. [OUTPUT: Saving...]
  636. [OUTPUT: Game saved successfully. Would you like to quit?]
  637. >yes.
  638. >Y
  639. [OUTPUT: Game quit. Have a nice day.]
