  1. A speedrun is defined by the community, and is under no obligation to adhere to any common notion of what "completing" a game entails.
  2.
  3. Other games have no bearing on Super Mario Sunshine.
  4.
  5. Calling people impatient for not wanting to waste hours of their time watching cutscenes is disingenuous.
  6.
  7. Race file being called "race file" is based on how it was first used. I don't really see how it not being used in races is at all relevant to the discussion.
  8.
  9. The Japanese community has always alienated itself more than anything. They can participate in anything our community does the same way anyone else can. Unfortunately there is a language barrier. We can't really help that.
  10.
  11. The method of implementation for Race file has not been determined yet, you can bring up these points again if the poll rules in favor of Race file. People will be more open to discussing this then.
  12.
  13. This next part kinda boggles my mind. You admit yourself that you have no idea what goes in in the Discord (which is the official hub of the community), and then you proceed to make all kinds of statements about the file select vs. race file discussion that are just completely untrue.
  14.
  15. I agree that the moderation team on the whole does not do as good a job as they should, and I've expressed my frustrations about this on a regular basis over the past 1-2 years.
  16.
  17. However that being said there have been a lot of positive changes in the past year, including a massive Discord moderation reform which you obviously have no idea about. You're also trivializing the countless hours of civil discussion that's been had about this topic, and completely disregarding how difficult it even is to get anything close to a generally accepted solution for this situation.
  18.
  19. What we ended up with definitely isn't ideal, and I have been openly critizing the other mods for some of the things they have decided. I made a decision about a month ago to stop being involved in any official capacity in this whole ordeal because at large I was just being ignored, and we were just going in circles. Like I said, I'm not happy with the mod team. But at least at this point SOMETHING is finally happening, after months of discussion.
  20.
  21. You're entitled to your opinions, and I can understand where you're coming from with some of your points, especially considering how long you've been around. But I can't abide by you essentially flinging shit our way after all this time when you haven't the slightest clue what is even going on inside the community.
