Zivaku Tropes

Also, another list for the Zivaku Family in general. Might as well get to these before we get to individual members.


Action Girl: Basically every woman in the family is this in some degree.

Angels, Devils, and Squids: Not exactly, what with both the angels and demons being good people (at least to a certain degree), but Silent Hill's theology definitely fits into the "Squids" category.

Badass Family: All of them who are still alive, in multiple types:

Badass Abnormal: Cheryl "Heather" Mason (though she can't control it) and Sain.

Badass Adorable: Naito, when he doesn't draw Bunnymoon. Possibly also Yumigami and the other Brush Gods, though that has varying definitions of "adorable."

Badass Automaton: K1-R4 and formerly 54-1N. Also, Marathon Eva, an enforced Contagious AI.

Badass Cape: Gregory, though his cape just happens to be something he wears rather than being a defining characteristic.

Badass Normal: The human Kira does not actually have any powers, but is set to show very high combat prowess.

Future Badass: Those futures who are seen. Yes, even the Big Bad of that whole thing counts on his own level.

Handicapped Badass: Isaac before his first Deal With The Devil. A Blind Weaponmaster specifically.

Heartbroken Badass: The aforementioned human Kira. Kynthia temporarily, and Gregory for a longer period (to his dismay, as he was a Death Seeker at the time).

Pregnant Badass: Demi during the War of Heaven and Hell. And how.


Battle Couple: Including couples being formed, we have Gregory and Kynthia, Naito and Jasmine, Isaac and Cheryl, Sain and Kira, and K1-R4 and 54-1N. As with many other characters, these do not count couples from alternate universes.

Big Screwed Up Family: Mostly due to Gregory and Isaac, but there are, to wit, two fratricides (of each other [both recovered]), one patricide, one reincarnation, and, in an actually logical manner for its process, a case of My Own Grandpa that did not involve any incest whatsoever.

Determinator: Pretty much all of them will fight to the last breath. It Runs In The Family, or rather In The Blood for the darker future.

Fridge Brilliance: How most of the links have worked out.

Sibling Yin Yang: For siblings thus far. Depending on whether or not the person for whom Naito's sister Nótt decides to take her as a character, this could apply to her as well.

Tangled Family Tree: Though not nearly as bad as people tend to make it out to be, this family is drawn out in three dimensions, including all manner of spiritual or otherwise theological creatures, artificial intelligences, one genetic experiment, and a few humans. The main cause for confusion tends to be time travel.

Thicker Than Water: More-so recently in some cases, though others are still trying to find a way to deal with their own troubles first. Some are forming alliances specifically so as to help the family survive.
