  2. Obviously yes, music is more than just numbers, but sometimes just saying "I liked this album" feels disingenuous to me. For me it is better to put my initial thoughts into a numbered system then also have a somewhat comprehensive written review (although I don't always do that). Overall though I still generally just like most music and its hard for most music to be "bad" or even "mid" to me.

Anyways my original system of rating was very flawed and most people generally see 6-7/10 music as "good" and my original system rated that as "mid" but that's because im American so 7/10 is bad apparently. I am now adjusting my scores to actually be sensible and not overrate albums even if I see the album as alright or okay in reality.

I chose Fantano's system not because I am a fanboy and pretentious douche (even tho maybe I am), but because I think his system works best for how I think of music as well, I simply made it more specific because I feel sometimes his system is too vague for rating and AOTY allows me to be more specific and really narrow down my thoughts of an album beyond simpler measures.

This will be a pain in the ass to do for the 200 or so albums I've rated but luckily the higher tiers won't change much as most of the music I have rated generally belongs in there and I generally still agree with most of the higher scores I have given. You may see some albums take a nosedive based on how I remember listening to them, it won't be perfect but I ought to adjust my standards.

  12. 100 (Strong 9-10) Perfect/Masterpiece/GOAT/Personal Fav

  14. 95-99 (Decent - Strong 9) Amazing and Incredible Albums that may have only 1-2 aspects demoting it from being a 10

  16. 90-94 (Light to Decent 9) Really good and great albums that are very enjoyable but may have some flawed aspects

  18. 86-89 (Decent to Strong 8) Really good albums that are generally enjoyable with a few more flawed aspects.

  20. 80-85 (Light to Decent 8) Quite Good albums that are generally enjoyable but aren't generally too special to me.

  22. 76-79 (Decent to Strong 7) Good albums that are usually enjoyable but may have some misses.
  23.  
  24. 70-75 (Light to Decent 7) Pretty good albums that are somewhat enjoyable but have more misses.
  25.  
  26. 65-69 (Decent to Strong 6) Alright albums that likely have a few good tracks but start to have more misses.
  27.  
  28. 60-64 (Light to Decent 6) Okay albums that only have 1-2 good tracks and mostly "mid" or "bad" for everything else
