» background: Since she started to talk everybody knew she was going to be a singer. From cartoon theme songs to songs on the radio, music had a big role in Haneul's life, she lived for music and it was her biggest happiness.
Her mother was a pianist and from a very young age she started to teach Haneul how to play the instrument. She then started to take singing and guitar lessons.
She lived her life happily with her parents and her newborn brother. She was a happy child who liked playing with her friends and intertaining her relatives making music.
It was all perfect, until her mother committed suicide. The woman suffered from a severe form of depression from before she built a family and she reached her limits taking away her life. In the meantime her father lost his job and Haneul whole life fell apart.
She had to grew up fast, helping her father with the housekeeping stuff and becoming some sort of parent to her brother, when everything happened she was just 9.
She decided to stop going to her music lessons in order to save money. As long as she was too young to have a job, she started singing in the street with her guitar in front of a bar where her father worked as a waiter. She started to be really successful earning money doing something that she liked.
At the age of 17 her family still had economic problems, his father had many many jobs but still didn't earn enough.
Haneul thought about selling her guitar and grand piano, she was also slowly giving up on her dream, deciding to make her family her first priority. So she performed for the last time in the street and told everybody that she was going to stop performing. When she finished performing a JYP casting manager approached her and casted her.

» personality: Haneul has two sides of herself: one, the one that her group members see often, is serious. She is quiet and kind of coldish at first glance, she takes performing very serious and doesn't really joke around like the youngest members do.
She is the one that you could rely on, she is mature and is some sort of parent in the dorm. She is very fierce and likes to give this badass vibe.
She is very protective towards her group members and, being apart of the unnie line, she wants to be a guide to follow to her younger group members.
Although she seem cold, she is very good at conversations and is an easy-going type of girl, she is the one in charge of speaking in front of the camera and doing speeches about songs/albums.
She also has a cute and bubly side, but is usually the side that she shows to her fans. She loves doing aegyo for them, and is pretty good at it, but she doesn't want to show her cute side to her group members, she is kind of shy that they might start to mock her, because in the group she is the cool and fierce one, so she just does aegyo only to the audience.
She is also very clumsy! When she stays still you would say that she not dangerous, but make her move and she would punch you without ever her knowing! She is not a delicate persone so whenever she holds something, it could drop because it slipped from her hands or she hit people with it, it's better for people to avoid staying too close to her. This clumsy side is considered very cute to the audience but sometimes annoying to the group.
At times she has weird moments when she speaks alien and scares everyone. She kind of sound like she needs an exorcist.
She is very honest and her honesty often hurt people because she doesn't really think before she speaks when it comes to speaking her mind, but as soon as she realises that she hurt people with her words she says like a million times sorry. She feels bad, because the only thing she doesn't want to do is hurting people.
She is also a little bit greedy for money, she is obsessed with making money and earning a lot, because of her family's economic problems she still wants to help and her family still comes before everything.
She cries a lot, but never in front of people, she cries out of frustration, when she can't memorize a dance move or she can't hit the high note, she cries while remembering her mother, she cries when she thinks that she might could inherit her mother mental illness.
