- Backstory: Our story begins at the ripe age of nine, when David was given his first pet - a dog! Bartholomew Andreas Alexander the Trisace, a dog destined to live to a ripe old age, taken care of by a loving family of four, that being David's younger brother, himself, and his wonderful parents.
- Disaster strikes six years later, when David is the ripe age of fifteen. At this point, a workplace incident leads to the death of the kid's father. David was with him that day, and witnessed the action - a clear fault of the manager, and David, of course, approaches the guilty party about what is, in his mind, murder. To keep the entire incident quiet, David is quickly given a place on the crew, to give him a reason to keep quiet and continue supporting his family.
- Four years later, when David is nineteen, Barty is killed in an accident involving the manager, Samuel. Two deaths, so close to David, is too much for the man - he snaps, leading to the creation of his second personality, who will later dub himself The Janitor. In the dead of night, the manager meets his end at the Janitor's hands, leaving David none the wiser of the incident in the morning.
- Life is good for a while, with David left with a seething rage that seems to have no outlet, anger directed at this point to the entirety of L Corp, leaving him the perfect target for Carmen and Ayin. The idea was simple - cause a meltdown at L Corp, to bring more attention to the world about what the smoke of L Corp causes. Of course, this leads to the lad getting fired, and his movement to H Corp - he's not sure why he moved there of all places...but the Janitor does. After all...H Corp isn't natty, after all. Why does he hate the unnatural, with all of it finding its roots in H Corp.
- The disasters don't stop there, however. After becoming a Feather as a mailman, David gets news - his brother, left with nobody to support him, gets diagnosed with a terminal disease. He asks his current manager to help, since he's just starting his job and doesn't have enough for the alteration needed to cure his brother. Denied. A letter, directly to the face of H Corp, denied. He tried to get a loan out himself - denied. In all of this process, his brother withered away, relegated to the backstreets of L Corp to survive, until... he finished withering.
- This is the point that the augments begin, all started by The Janitor - all of the nonphysical mods are purchased by the Janitor, all of the physical by David. Here their goals also come together - the destruction of H Corp, one way or another. David is trying to think of plans, while the Janitor took the name because of his method - going out at night, when he takes over, to use Sweepers to take out the unnatural.
- Oh, also, he bought a gun. Being a mailman is dangerous work sometimes.
