Game Break Update!

Taking a break from games is hard, but it's rewarding. I've gotten a lot of stuff done around the house and been able to spend good time with my family. I've also been able to do a little bit more focusing and reflecting in the ways that I hoped Lent would help me to, but I'd still like to grow more in that.  I've already done two weeks of no games, which is the longest break I've had from them in years.  I've taken one week breaks before, but now I'm really starting to notice that I don't have them to turn to and getting excited about playing again. It'll be interesting to see how I feel in 2 more weeks. (see WHY i wanted to take this break here: http://pastebin.com/4a6MGK9A)

But since I've had time to step away from my stream, I've already started thinking about what I'll do when I get BACK!  Here's where I think my priorities are falling:

*DKC3 103% - Seeing how quickly Alec and Avanor have been able to improve at this motivates me. My goal for it now is definitely sub-2:15, if not sub-2:10.  If I get the latter, then the WR for 306% is theoretically in range for me. Maybe I'll consider it after all.

*Diablo II - I was REALLY enjoying my attempts at running this game.  Even though I wasn't able to finish it either time I tried, I want to keep going.  I may start something called "Diablo on the Weekend" where Friday or Saturday night each week, I attempt a D2 run.

*Mega Man 2 - I was enjoying THIS even more. When those Diablo runs inevitably fail, I'd like to have a short run to do as a backup. After I get a good time (for me anyway) at this, I'll move on to another Mega Man.  Eventually I'd like to have good(-ish) times on all 6 NES games.

*Let's PLAY time! I've got a few games that I'd like to do playthroughs of on stream.  The first is Mega Man Unlimited, a fan game which my viewer Legaibo was one of the developers of.  I've been telling him I'd play it for awhile, so I think the time has come.  After that, I will do a BLIND playthrough of the original Legend of Zelda. I've only touched it a little bit, and have no idea where anything is in the game. Should be fun.

*After 103, I'll move on to 101.  Or if Namux cuts my DKC2 time, I'll go back and try to get a 42 in any%.

Of course, after five more weeks of reflection, all of these plans could change entirely! I may decide I miss DKC2 too much. I may decide to get more serious about Mega Man. I may decide I don't really care that much about Diablo after all. Or I may say forget streaming, I've got too much offline stuff I want to do! Only time will tell!!!
