  12. To quote my first email, where I have answered this question:
  13.
  14. > We do not have control over how the WCA system sends out automated emails. The first email you received told you that the registration was created, but was on the waiting list until payment was made.
  15.
  16. Reading the email would have informed you that your registration was not fully complete. I'm sorry we could not assist you, but all of the registration requirements were clear on the website, and registering 2 hours before the deadline does not leave much time to correct any issues that arise.

Neither one of you have addressed any of my questions as to why you are sending out the "wait list email" confirming absolutely nothing!!! We obviously were never registered if the payment wasnt made!!! I NEEDED TO KNOW THAT MY REGISTRATION WAS INCOMPLETE...NOT THAT I WAS ON A WAITING LIST!!! AND I NEEDED TO KNOW THAT BEFORE TODAY!!!!

  29. Yes, you should have received that email for creating a registration, not necessarily for payment. The last paragraph of the email you just quoted is exactly the same as what I quoted in my email.

  39. Your registration has been received and is pending approval from the organization team.
  40.
  41. You will be emailed when your registration is approved. Please note that registrations are not automatically approved, so be patient if you have not been accepted straight away. There may be more registration steps to follow before your registration will be approved. To see the approval criteria visit the competition website or contact the organizers. You can also check the status of your registration here."

  48. Hi Jeannette --
  49.
  50. I went through and checked our Stripe account used to collect payment, and there was no evidence of payment on our end. As stated on the registration requirements for the competition, registrations are only complete and accepted with valid payment. If you have a receipt for your payment for this competition (separate from the registration email) as of May 25th, please send it along and I'd be happy to look over our records again.
  51.
  52. We do not have control over how the WCA system sends out automated emails. The first email you received told you that the registration was created, but was on the waiting list until payment was made. This is what the body of the automated email you received reads:
  53.
  54. > You will be emailed when your registration is approved. Please note that registrations are not automatically approved, so be patient if you have not been accepted straight away. There may be more registration steps to follow before your registration will be approved. To see the approval criteria visit the competition website or contact the organizers. You can also check the status of your registration here.
  55.
  56. If accepted, you would have received another email letting you know that, but this was never sent out because the payment was never processed.
  57.
  58. We do our best to reach out to competitors with unpaid registrations in the days leading up to the registration's close time, but I saw that your registration was created 2 hours before the registration's closure time, which did not allow us to send you such a reminder before the deadline. I'm sorry for the confusion regarding this situation, but since you never had a valid, complete registration, we cannot accept you into the competition as it is after the deadline. Hopefully we will see you at another NW competition in the future.

  60. Best,
  61. Kit

  68. An automatic email was sent telling you that you were on the waitlist. This email says you still have to pay.
  69.
  70. It is not the organizers' job to notify competitors that payment is still needed. Competitors are responsible for paying and cannot expect to be reminded. It is very easy to check the WCA site and see if you are completely registered for a competition, and it shows when you are just on the waitlist.
  71.
  72. I understand you don't have much experience with competitions, and like I said, I'm very sorry about this situation. I hope you understand that I have taken a sizeable amount of my own time looking in to this and responding to your emails, doing my best to help. I know you're upset, but lashing out won't help anything. I hope I have given you all the information needed to not find yourself in this situation again.
  73.
  74. I am adding Kit Clement (the WCA delegate for the competition) to this conversation. Maybe he has some additional input.

  90. Why would you send a confirmation email? A confirmation of us not being registered? If the registration wasnt complete why were we not notified before now when its too late? This is the third competition we have signed up for and this is the first time this has happened. I took a day off work to take my son so mow I am missing a day of work and a,day of commision.
  91.
  92. This is so unprofessional!!! Rediculous!!! You just cancel us without notice? You are not helpful at all...

  98. Looking on my end it shows no payment was made. I don't know what to tell you, maybe the payment didn't go through because of the card/account you tried to pay with, or maybe you exited the site before the payment processed, but either way, no payment was made.
  99.
  100. I think the confirmation you are referencing is the original email that is sent when a competitor is added to the waiting list. This does not mean the registration is approved. Another email is sent when the registration is accepted.
  101.
  102. I deleted the competitors that were on the waiting list (because they had not paid) either last night or this morning because the registration deadline had passed, and that is what triggered the email that was sent to you more recently.
  103.
  104. I'm sorry that I'm not able to help out more.

  117. I'm assuming the competitor in question is Noah Oh? (As that's the WCA account I found that matches your email.) If so, it shows no money was ever paid. Like I said, registration closed at the end of the day last Friday, so if you tried to pay after that it was too late and it would not have gone through.

  126. Hello,
  127.
  128. The reason your registration was deleted is because you never paid the registration fee. Registration closed last Friday, and that was the deadline to pay. Unfortunately now it is too late, as most of the planning for the competition is done, and we cannot re-open registration.
  129.
  130. Sorry you missed the deadline. I highly recommend paying registration fees right when you register to avoid forgetting about them. If you pay the fees then your registration will be approved (assuming your registration meets all other competition requirements) and you will be good to go. In this case, your registration was never approved because you never paid the fee.
  131.
  132. There are some other competitions coming up in the area (Rose City 2018 in Portland still has a few days left to register) and hopefully we'll see you at some of those (and we'll definitely host more OSU competitions in the future).
  133.
  134. Sorry again,
  135.
  136. Jason

  145. Your registration for Oregon State Favorites 2018 has been deleted. Possible causes are:
  146.
  147. You did not submit all the required details
  148. You asked for withdrawal
  149. You didn't meet the registration criteria (for example, paying the registration fee in advance or meeting the qualifying times for events)
  150. The competitor limit has been reached and there are no more spots available
  151. You registered twice or more times
  152. If you think this is an error, please reply to this email.
