>if they're working together with Lysandre he probably would try to get Colress to work closer with him as part of team flare, but at the time although Colress was already kind of a dick he wasn't full on villainy dick so he turned Lysandre down
>as Colress and Sycamore were unable to get any information on mega evolution their relationship broke down, and eventually Colress returned home to Unova
>he was bitter that he failed to uncover anything, which led to him becoming even more unscrupulous
>at some point Ghetsis got into contact with him
>Ghetsis offered him fancy laboratories and stuff and funding for his research if he joined team plasma
>Colress took him up on the offer
