Current games, plans and rest of 2017 goals

  1. Current games/Current Goals and Plans
  2. -Finally beat Tales of Berseria (nearly at the final part)
  3. -Non custom GX Racing League competition: Try to win it while using different machines for every track
  4. -Beat Stella Glow
  5. -Pick up Kirby’s Planet Robobot once again and beat it
  6. -Finally finish Divinity Original Sin Enhanced edition (both solo and co-op with friend campaigns)
  7. -Start playing Breath of the Wild and Redout. And try to become competitive with Redout
  8. -Eventually start with the rest of my backlog of games bit by bit: Golden Sun, Trails in the Skies, finish Wonderful 101, start Rayman Legends, A Link Between Time, X-Com...

  10. F-Zero GX/Unleashed Plans

After doing my NASA run and with the current non custom competition, I will sparingly do attempts for PBs to get to playing other games so I don’t get too burnt out from GX, as I have already spent a lot of time improving my records earlier this year. I will likely try out the story mode courses with machines other than Blue Falcon and try to set some decent times in Unleashed on courses I enjoy (Twist Road, Dragon Slope, most of AX Cup)

  13. As for Unleashed itself, I am still in the brainstorm step with regards to rebalancing the custom boosters. Unlike the body parts, there isn’t much variety for boosters within the same letter grade. They have similar boost durations, similar top speeds, and there is usually a clear cut best booster for each grade. I want to make more unique boosters that have their own strengths, but the challenge is balancing them out. Balancing the original machines made me realize that high acceleration is amazing on many courses for max speed play, and even more so if the boost duration is long, so I have to be very careful with the D and E rated boosters.

I think in terms of performance of the custom boosters compared to the best original machine boosters, I think they should be slightly inferior because the Quick Star and Gallant Star combo is likely still at the top with their advanced technique prowess (unless I overdid it with buffing Black Bull). So that means I’ll leave Titan G4 alone. I may leave Thunderbolt V2 alone as well since it is commonly used in vanilla GX. The legendary boosters will remain OP, though I will likely nerf the high acceleration booster since it’s so nuts right now.

  17. I may make some changes to the body parts. I am considering reverting Speedy Dragon back to what it was originally, or take away some of the 250 KG weight I gave it. I haven’t really tested most of the body parts, so there may be other changes once I play test them. I’m most concerned about the D rated body parts in particular.

  19. As for updating the staff ghosts, I’m still juggling with how difficult they should be. Ideally there should be two levels of ghosts but that isn’t possible to build in I think. No matter what though I do want to up the difficulty to the point where you need to be proficient with quick turning/movement in general and MTing to be able to beat the ghost. I will aim to use a different machine on each track and use machines that makes sense for the courses. It will be pretty much the ultimate challenge for the mod. Which leads into the Master difficulty of GP mode. I still want to make it even harder, similar to the Ace difficulty in some of the Mario Sports games, but there’s still not much progress with modifying the AIs boosting tendencies, their lines, their handicapping, and changing their settings.

  21. I don’t have a time-table of when this update will be released other than sometime this year. Expect some sort of competition or challenge to go along with the release of it, most likely something different than the Racing League competitions that I’ve done before. It would be to encourage players to start setting good times for the mod.

  23. 2017 Goals, plans
  24. -For GX max speed, just try to get more runs that I will be content with and would be very difficult to improve upon (meaning the final PB I set on the course ever hopefully). The next major milestones are passing Chrizzle, Stiff, and JKLoser and sub 41 minutes. I’m not in much of a rush to do that. I am certain I will be able to do all of those things.
  25. -Unleashed: Release version 2.0
  26. -Try new games and actually beat them. Maybe get into ARMS?
  27. -Get Super Mario Odyssey and maybe a couple other Switch games
  28. -Git gud with Redout. I’m hoping this game fulfills my desire to play a highly competitive online, skillful arcade racing game.

  30. As for attending other events this year, I’m not so sure yet. I do want to meet up with people I've met before again and meet up with those that I only know through online so if there’s an event where that can happen I will consider it.

  32. I haven’t been to a GDQ since AGDQ 2015 where I did part of Zewing’s GX run. If there are some F-Zero members and some folks that I haven’t met up in a while or haven’t met IRL yet then I will definitely try to attend, even if F-Zero doesn’t get accepted yet again.

  34. There is an itch to try to get a good All Tracks or All Staff Ghosts run after my great NASA run. Though I’m sure if I do try I will give up after repeated screw ups as usual.

  36. As for streaming I’ll just do what I usually do, which is stream GX when going for PBs or serious runs. I doubt my laptop would be able to stream the PC version of Redout without something slowing down. Perhaps I can stream BotW and Divinity for the heck of it. Not going to try to make the big time or anything, but it’d be cool to interact with some peeps every now and then.
