  14. Most will say a husk is an empty vessel, a shell of something that once was but is no more. Husk will tell you a husk is potential personified.

  16. He began fulfilling his quite early on. Gifted with immortality and ambition beyond his years, Husk chose to pursue a path that seemed most natural to him: he would become an emperor, and reclaim the power and respect his forebears had before they were cast from the Lightweaver's favour. Of course, he knew it would not be an easy undertaking, and the thought of losing himself to the composite mind of an emperor filled him with disquiet. He sought a cure for the mindlessness first: an enchantment placed on his mind, rendering him immune to loss of self when combined with the souls and bodies of his fellow imperials.

  18. The enchantment was a complete success. It did not, however, come without a price, and one which Husk discovered much too late. Without a mind susceptible to subsumption, Husk could not complete the emperor transformation and all attempts at being reborn a many-headed wonder and terror failed. Still, he tries, and exists in a curious state of ab-death that is both similar and wholly different from that experienced by his fellow vampires.

  20. The strength of his spirit dying and beginning alone and anew in a ceaseless cycle attracted the attention of Banshee, who brought him to Elisheba. He joined Elisheba as one of her night hunters, enraptured by her vision of a conquered Hewn City. If he cannot breach the Ruins as a many-headed terror, joining the conquering force to take the Lightweaver’s City is surely a fine consolation prize.
