Thaddeus, or Chad as he commonly goes by, is the product of decades of eugenics research upon the Human Satellite city of Greater Berlin, at one time the glimmering jewel of the cities in the sky, but laid low in 2425 when a micro-kessler event shattered 3/4th of the habitat and killed most of its inhabitants. The rest were forced to genetic manipulation and recombination to survive, and breeding was controlled so that the new relatively small population would continue to be viable. In secret however a project was launched to ensure that the perfect being was formed from the mass of DNA collected during both the cleanup of deaths from the Kessler Catastrophe and the resulting state-mandated breeding program. The head of the station was a traditionalist german, and held above all else the dream of the Übermensch, who in the age of Martian supremacy and alien discovery would arise and lead mankind forward to greatness. It was then that the Hercles project began, wherein the best scientist of New Berlin and beyond were brought to the rebuilding city to create the perfect human. Work began on the project in the year 2485, and continued on until 2661, when a rapid societal collapse and revolution in the satillite city saw the project quickly become buried and lost to the ages, along with its sole remaining test subject. In a cryo-tube the infant Deus slept, for 200 years he waited. Finally in the year 2661, a expedition to the abandoned levels of New Berlin revealed a secret, thousands of pages of data and theories, tanks upon tanks of stored Human DNA, and a single cryogenic tube containing a infant boy, his blonde hair like Hypoborean wheat and his ice as cold as Arctic ice. Only the word "Deus" was tattooed on his chest, and all other identifying information as to who and what this child was had either been destroyed or corrupted by the ages. The child was raised by the Premier of New Berlin, himself childless and looking for a heir to secure his claim to the rule of the floating city. The child was named Thaddeus, after his "Father" and taught in all of the arts of science and politics, culture and war, and in piloting the giant mechanical suits which had come to dominate warfare. He was brought up to rule the city, and on the eve of his 22 birthday He was presented to the public as the Premier punctum temporis, to rule when his now aged father finally abdicated the throne. But Chad did not desire this, he longed to once again step into the cozy cockpit of a mecha, to feel the power coursing through his veins as he interfaced with the god-machine. It was so that he left the city in the dead of the Solar night, having long planned his escape ever since a traumatic event in his childhood. He eventually found his way to GenTek, who initially did not show much interest in a volunteer mecha pilot, already having their fair share. This was until they gathered customary data on the young man in the interview process, and young Chad found himself quickly shifted from janitorial duties in a mecha production facility to their testing grounds to see what skill he really had. After several hard days proving his worth, Chad was granted a mecha of his own and inducted into the First Wave of the newly formed ERI. He would not fail in this task, for in his own eyes, he was made for it . In actuality Thaddeus was found realtively recently in a casket on Earth, along with his mecha, his memories are implanted in him to keep him docile, and his true origins are unknown to all, except perhaps himself.
