Hey, you. Yeah, you… the one with the big sad eyes that frown for you when your lips are too strong to show it. The one with the smile that can’t quite reach your eyes, no matter how hard you try to put on a strong face for us. Yes you, the one with the broken heart, the sunken shoulders and the beautiful eyes. C’mere. Close your eyes, look at me, and listen close.

It’s going to be okay. It may not seem that way tonight, and for due reason. You’re in a bad way, and things are looking dire… but I’m here for you. We all are. We might not know you but that does not stop a single one of us from caring about you. It doesn’t stop me from caring; nothing ever will. The path ahead looks daunting, yes, but you’ve already been through hell; you’ve made it past then, and you’ll make it past now. How do I know this? Because you’re human, and for all of the things we do, the horrible and the wonderful, the one thing we do better than anything else is Get. Back. Up. And that’s what you’re going to do.

Maybe not tonight, maybe not tomorrow… you’ve had it rough and you’ve earned yourself a moment to breathe. But you won’t give up, because that’s not who you are. Not anymore, anyway. We’ve all taken hits and fallen on hard times, and like a muscle every time we tear we come back stronger. We learn important things along the way. We learn that no one is against us, but they are for themselves. We learn that there are seven days in the week, and none of them are called Someday. We learn that the only thing harder to forgive others is to forgive ourselves… but we do it anyway. You’ll do it anyway.

Why? Because you’re amazing. You’re amazing and you’re great and you’re terrific and you’re inspirational and you’re tenacious and you’re badass and you’re fucking awesome. More than anything, though, you’re not a quitter… so don’t quit. We need you to keep going. I need you to keep going, and if that isn’t enough… you need you to keep going.

So take a breath, take a cry, take a nap, take all three, and if you want? I’ll be right there with you, like always. Take as long as you need… because when you get back up, you’re not stopping until you make it back to 100%. And that’s a promise.
