Not exactly, this is where we differ in that moderators handle ALL issues just like administrators, with the difference that admins have a few more powers so admins tend to handle missing items/bugs or in general things that require the editing of the game instead of just observation

I'd message them asking if they had time to read over the Aurora rules before joining. being a high roleplay server, references like /that/ don't really fit into the "believable character" threshold. It's clear they have a sense of humor, and that's great, but maybe they can put that creativity towards a more unique and plausible creation.

May I follow that with a question? I don't know the Aurora verbs. Do you guys have the ability to show specific rules to players? Hollowstone had it, but I know some codes don't. I also don't know if freezing is part of the moderator verbs
Welder bombing can be a /hassle/ on the players, especially if we're in the middle of a big antag round. They'd need to be paused so they can concentrate on the conversation we're having. I'd ask them if, somehow, they skipped the antag/conflict rulings as well. We're in the middle of a grey tide. I'd give a small benefit of the doubt. I'd explain to them that welder bombing  with no conflict or RP to rhyme/reason goes against the conflict rules we have in place.
It's at that point I pretty much know they're trolling the server. Greytiders don't have creative names/gimmicks like that. So they'd be watched closely and the next rule break they did would, hopefully, result in some punishment.

You're sitting around on deadhour when your chat is suddenly spammed with attack logs, as you JMP to the source of those logs you see a detective and a security officer firing at each other with weapons, one with laser rifle the other with his revolver.
Roundtype is extended and no major event has happened.
What do you do?

It's possible conflict was there to escalate that. I'd do a few things. 1)Deadchat can be your best friend when it comes to finding out who did what icly. 2)I'd message them stating "Hey, I know you're in the middle of conflict. If this wasn't built-up properly, please respond back as soon as you can and I'll handle it. If it's RP you both have been building over the shift, then message me after you're out of conflict"
I don't want to mess up roleplay if they've spent a literal hour building it. That gives them the option to go "NO! DUDE JUST SHOT ME FOR NO REASON!" and I can step in then.

I'd tell them that isn't acceptable on the server. It kinda falls into a few catagories. Theyre OOCly discussing what they want to try out ICly and that breaks the game for anyone else that will have to deal with the fallout.

Technically the ticket didn't close, but they were at least nice enough to apologize. The only other thing I would have said to them is "Just try and follow the rules better next time." and I'd make a note on their ckeys about the incident. I don't feel like it's 100% ban worthy. A warning would suffice.

A janitor is ahelping that security is being shitcurity that they bucklecuffed him to bed and set his timer stupidly high after he slipped an officer on his soap.
You check and indeed his time is on 30 minutes and he is bucklecuffed to the bed, they are mouthing off in LOOC while the officer is not paying them any attention OOC or IC wise, there is no other officer on station.
What do you do?

I need a full account from both parties. I'll also check vari's to see if the janitor OR the officer attacked one of them first, just to get my bearings straight on the situation.
I'd also ask the janitor to ease up on the LOOC a bit.

You see some minors notes on both of them, they tend to be beginner things like reference names and such things, nothing related.
You see in the VV that the officer attacked the janitor with his baton on disarm intent but nothing further.
The officer informed you that the janitor assaulted him and could have tried to kill him while he was on the ground so he gave him an attempted murder charge.
The janitor says that he slipped the officer on purpose and laughed at him but nothing else, he also tells you that this isn't about him but the officer and you should stop worrying about what he's saying.

Well, just based on the officer's story alone, that's a ridiculous charge. While, yes, it's an IC issue, he's basically ruined the other guys round and there's no one there to question that time. I'd ask exactly how he "assaulted" him.
In the meantime, I'd poke around in deadchat to see if anyone saw the altercation. and I'd let the janitor cool down by informing him I was looking into the situation.

The officer says that, the janitor taunted him and threw his soap on him upon which he slipped and banged his head (((rply))) so he arrested him, he could have seriously hurt himself and so it was janitors intent to hurt him seriously.
Deadchat says they only saw the janitor being dragged to brig and nothing before.
The janitor in the meantime tells you that he thinks you aren't doing a good enough job and that you're a dumb retard that doesn't know what he's doing and asks for a REAL staffmember.
There is no other staff around.

My mere existence seems to set this guy off. I assume there's an admin chat? I'd ask if anyone else can come and assist with the janitor. I don't have to be spoken to that way. I can understand he's frustrated, and if for /some reason/ I have triggered him, then it's best to get someone else to assist him.
However, his attitude needs to be noted. Staff members (Hell players even) don't deserve that.
I'd also explain the officer that he was too harsh and in his attempt to make some "good" RP out of it, he upset another player greatly and messed up a /large/ chunk of his round over a silly gimmick. Yes, it's just a game, but the fact remains.

The janitor instead now starts insulting you both in LOOC simply resigning to replying to PM's, the admins in adminchat (which you will have access to once you're a full mod not a trialmod) tell you that they're busy, one replies that he'll be able to connect but he has to get home from a 2 hour bus ride

You jump to the source and see an engineer, he is wielding a spear, on the ground there is a ghetto shotgun along with two unloaded slugs and when you check his VV you see his bag is chock full of things like saws, ammo, ghetto weapons and etc.
You see he has currently killed 3 mercenaries is beating 1 to death right now as he is in crit and the last one is cought in a bear trap.
What do you do?

Why would his character feel the absolute need to make so many weapons on code blue? It's very unreasonable to jump to that logic that fast. I'd point out Aurora's definition of Powergaming in the rules tab.

At that point, he's not actually listening to me. Instead, he's trying to circle-logic his way around getting away with powergaming.
And to be honest with you, I don't know how to handle that situation without causing even more conflict with the player. I'd ask for someone to help me come to a end conclusion about all of it.
I don't see anything wrong with being uncertain about a situation and needing a second opinion.

So he has notes on previous powergaming. At this point, it almost feels neglectful to not put a ban on them for powergaming. If you've been previously warned about doing things outside of the realistic realm of your character and you're still doing it... Then the warnings aren't working.

Agreeing with the fact that he powergamed and apologizing for it doesn't change the fact that he /did/ it despite previous warning. You can claim guilty in court and still have to deal with the consequences.
But... I have a soft heart. I'd put a final warning on his notes stating he's been warned to the extent of it all and if he powergames again, a ban would be /highly/ suggested. He'd be told he's getting his last chance on the powergaming situation and if he's reported for it again, a ban will probably be in place.
