  1. (It’s the end of one of the concerts where Pink Floyd played what was to be the record that would catapult them to the highest stratospheres of fame—The Dark Side of the Moon—and the band are backstage, preparing to leave the venue and head back to their hotel.
  2.
  3. While storing their equipment, Dave thinks about the material they just played. He feels confident in it, and decides to talk to Rog about it. Gilmour had at that point finished storing his guitar, and so walked to where Rog was.
  4.
  5. At that moment, Rog was finishing up storing his bass, but it wouldn’t be very long before things would head in a different direction indeed.)
  6.
  7. “You know, Rog, this material is quite superb if I say so myself” said Gilmour.
  8.
  9. Rog replies “I’d argue that ‘quite superb’ would be quite the understatement, but I’m not the one who’ll determine whether this stuff will do good.”
  10.
  11. “I have a feeling it will” said Dave, giving a bit of a smile.
  12.
  13. “I appreciate your enthusiasm, but you don’t need to phone it in, Dave,” replied Rog before continuing “It’s always a risk with fans, trying to push forward with a new sound. Not all bands manage to do it, but I think we’ve so far been one of those few bands that have managed to do so. Our band’s not the biggest, but to be honest, I kinda like it that way.”
  14.
  15. “It’s hard to say what our futures will be. We’ve had a good run, but who knows what kinda stuff will happen? For now, we just have to kind of enjoy the moment” said Dave, exhaling a bit.
  16.
  17. “Guys! We should probably start heading on outside. We don’t want to keep the bus waiting!” exclaimed Nick.
  18.
  19. “Alright, I’m coming,” replied Rog.
  20.
  21. “Me too,” added Gilmour.
  22.
  23. (At that point, Nick and Rick opened the backstage door and went on out. Dave and Rog followed, with Rog closing the door. Now outside, Rog went into the corner. Taking the pack of cigarettes out from his pocket, he grabbed a cigarette and lit it. Dave, for his part, decided to head to where Rog was at.)
  24.
  25. “You know, Rog, it definitely feels a bit weird having you do all the lyric writing. You’re quite good at it, don’t get me wrong, but all our albums so far have been a collaborative thing—just a bunch of guys writing stuff and making headway as best we can—so it’s definitely a change to have you do all the writing,” said Gilmour.
  26.
  27. (Rog took a drag off his cigarette. After inhaling the smoke and slowly exhaling it, he turned to Dave.)
  28.
  29. “Like I said earlier, bands change. We’ve done things a certain way for a while, but now it’s time to change it up again. I have a feeling I’ll probably keep on writing lyrics for quite a while,” replied Rog.
  30.
  31. “I guess that’s true,” began Gilmour, before continuing, “but part of me misses writing my own songs. This set of songs is your baby. At that point, it won’t be long before you start singing them all, and then, what use would we be for you?”
  32.
  33. “Dave,” began Rog as he inhaled and exhaled the cigarette, “even if these songs are ludicrously successful, the fact is that I’m part of this band. We all are. Now, might things change at some point? Maybe. But it’s too early to be worrying about what might happen.”
  34.
  35. (Rog at this point takes another drag off his cigarette.)
  36.
  37. “Rog, to be honest, I’m afraid of you. The material you showed really has the potential to take us to heights that we haven’t reached before. Could you imagine us being a super huge rock band? I can, and that thought both excites and scares the crap out of me.”
  38.
  39. “Well, if you’re so scared, why are you still in the band?” said Rog.
  40.
  41. “Honestly, it’s ‘cause I have a feeling that I belong here. You guys are sorta like my second family, but of you all, I like you the most, Rog,” replied Dave.
  42.
  43. (Rog took another drag off his cigarette, inhaling the smoke before slowly letting it out.)
  44.
  45. “Look, Dave,” started Rog before continuing, “I don’t love you that way. At the same time though, I’m not gonna pass up an opportunity to have a sexual revolution with you. As long as you know that it’d only be in the form of one-night stands, I’m good with fucking you.”
  46.
  47. “You know, Rog,” said Dave, “sexual revolution sounds like a title that’d make for a great song. I’d love to play on it.”
  48.
  49. “Well, I haven’t thought of it that way, but the idea sounds good enough,” replied Rog.
  50.
  51. “So, are we gonna do anything tonight?” inquired Dave.
  52.
  53. “Yep,” replied Rog.
  54.
  55. (Suddenly, the honking of a bus could be heard approaching. Nick called out to the band.)
  56.
  57. “Guys! The bus is here! Let’s get on!” replied Nick exuberantly.
  58.
  59. (Rog at that moment took one last drag off his cigarette before putting it out. He gave Gilmour a small hug before boarding on the bus. Gilmour before long followed, and Rick, well, was Rick. Once all inside, the bus closed its doors as it headed on down its route—one which would take the band to their hotel.)
