- Subject: Re: Inquiring about the stance of SU on NTU's ineffective COVID-19 measures
- Dear XXXX,
- Thank you for reaching out to NTUSU. We are heartened to hear from you and appreciate you notifying us of your concerns and feedback.
- NTUSU places utmost importance to ensure the safest environment for all our students. Earlier this afternoon, we have conducted a meeting with the University Management and escalated students’ concerns about the bus frequency and 'No Standing' rule.
- We have proposed that the rule should be revisited and that Office of Housing and Auxiliary Services should supplement additional buses to alleviate the situation as it has come to our attention that overcrowding is still observed during peak hours at bus stops and on buses. From our understanding, this is particularly a high incidence rate during the 5-6pm period.
- We have also requested for the Management to enforce and place markers for queueing and safe distancing while waiting for bus lines as bus stops to prevent crowding and squeezing, and he bus driver application to be used by Tong Tar to allow students to view bus loads to cater to early decision making if they are not able to take the bus.
- We hope to bring more updates and news to students soon. Hope this serves as clarification and once again, thank you for sharing with us your concerns.
- Best regards,
- Cheryl
