Elizabeth and Booker Versus the Tin Men of Venus

This is the same daring and resourceful duo of Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth Comstock who's adventures have held you spellbound in the pages of Fantastic Tales. Now every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at this same time and station join Booker DeWitt and Elizabeth Comstock as they travel into unknown space!

MUSIC: THEME

ANNOUNCER: tonight episode is entitled "The Tin Men of Venus" and it finds Booker and Elizabeth attending a routine inspection of one of the space cavalry's Element Q storage facilities. Element Q is the miraculous element used to fuel the Space Cavalry's starships. Without it, conventional space travel would be impossible.

SFX: LIQUID BUBBLING

BOOKER: So, what do you think?

ELIZABETH: It's hard to believe that glowing blue liquid can provide so much power.

BOOKER: That's modern science for ya. Now, to get back to central command and-

SFX: CRASH

ELIZABETH: Robots! Get down!

SFX ELECTRIC CRACKLE

ROBOT: DESTROY! DESTROY! DESTROY!

SFX LASER BLAST

ELIZABETH: Those electro-beams are no joke!

SFX LASER BLAST

BOOKER: Try and focus your fire on their eyes, that should stop the electro beams.

SFX ELECTRIC CRACKLE

ROBOT: COLLECT. THE. ELEMENT. Q.

SFX LASER BLAST

ELIZABETH: Oh, Booker look! The robots are stealing the element Q! Without it we'll have no way to fuel our spaceships!

BOOKER: They're cramming the containers into their metal bodies and flying off with it.

ELIZABETH: I have an idea. (Now, if I can just sneak up to one of those robots while they're occupied with stealing the element Q...)

BOOKER: Elizabeth! What are you doing!? Get out of there! She's made herself a stowaway on one of those machines. And if I want to see her again, it looks like I'll have to do the same!

ROBOT: IT. IS. FINISHED. RETREAT. RETREAT. RETREAT.

SFX: METALLIC RATTLING

ELIZABETH: Oh, I do hope Booker is safe. For that matter, I hope I'm safe. There's no telling where these robots could be heading!

MUSIC: STINGER

SFX: ROCKET BOOSTER

ELIZABETH: It sounds like we're making a landing. I'd better put on my helmet just in case.

MYSTERIOUS VOICE: Quickly! Unload the element Q!

ELIZABETH: I can hear a voice outside. He must be the mastermind behind this whole scheme. Now to make my escape while my pal here unloads his cargo!

SFX: SOFT LANDING

BOOKER: Elizabeth! Over here!

ELIZABETH: Booker? How did you get here?

BOOKER: Same as you. I hitched a ride with one of our mechanical friends. Now let's take a look around.

ELIZABETH: Sounds fine to me, I could use a stretch after being crammed into that robots storage compartment.

MUSIC: TRANSITION

SUCHONG: Faster, you moronic machines! Faster! Faster! Suchong thinks he needs to make better robots. Faster, smarter robots.

ELIZABETH: Up on that balcony! It's the evil doctor Suchong!

BOOKER: So he's the one behind all this.

SUCHONG: Faster! once Suchong has taken all of the element Q Suchong will dominate the world!

BOOKER: Suchong! You're under arrest! Come quietly and we'll insure that you have a fair trial.

SUCHONG: Ah, yes. The Space Cavalry. Suchong think you've been a thorn in his side for long enough!

ELIZABETH: Watch out!

SFX: ELECTRIC CRACKLE

ELIZABETH: (CRY OF PAIN)

SFX: LASER BLAST

BOOKER: Elizabeth! Are you hurt?

ELIZABETH: I'm fine, but Suchong is making his escape!

BOOKER: You're right, and these robots are closing in.

ELIZABETH: I think I have just the thing for that.

BOOKER: A destructo bomb? That's crazy!

ELIZABETH: Crazy is just what we need right now. Here, take this you mechanical fiends!

SFX: EXPLOSION

BOOKER: That was some explosion. Now, to find Suchong.

SFX: RUNNING

BOOKER: There! Blast that door!

ELIZABETH: On it!

SFX: LASER BLAST

BOOKER: Stop right there, Suchong!

SUCHONG: Fool! You'll never catch me!

ELIZABETH: We'll see about that! How about some rubble to block your way?

SFX: LASER BLAST

SFX: ROCKS FALL

BOOKER: Now you're cornered. Here, take this!

SFX: PUNCH

SUCHONG: (CRY OF PAIN)

BOOKER: And this!

SFX: PUNCH

SUCHONG: (CRY OF PAIN) Suchong surrenders! Suchong surrenders!

BOOKER: Looks like I knocked some sense into you. Now take us to your personal spaceship and we'll-

SUCHONG: (ECHOING LAUGH)

ELIZABETH: What's going on?

BOOKER: I don't know, but I don't like it one little bit.

SUCHONG: My robot duplicate is very convincing, yes? And now you've fallen into my trap!

BOOKER: The walls!

ELIZABETH: Booker, if we don't do something soon we'll be crushed for sure!

BOOKER: But what can we do? We've got no more destructo bombs and our lasers are useless!
