- Description: Joseph and his partner Waverly Jones (black) were on foot patrol, responding to an emergency call from a Harlem housing project, when the trio ambushed them, killing Jones with a single shot to the back of the head, and hitting Joseph a dozen times. Joseph attempted to flee, but was shot with his own gun as he begged for his life.
