  1. >"So, then, like. My friend, the one with the curly mane? Told me that HIS friend told him that he was at the restaurant, y'know?"
  2. "Uh huh."
  3. >"Yeah, you get me, colt. Now, his friend was, like, ordering a salad. Right? And the waitress there-wait, wait, this is the really bucked up part. The waitress there? She had the GUTS to ask him if he wants his salad with dressing or not. SALAD! Any mare should know that a colt on diet would never have dressing!
  4. "Suuure."
  5. >Be Anon
  6. >This is fucking torture
  7. >You could've just lived in the castle with the princesses, but noooo, you had to show that you're independent and get a job
  8. >With no working experience here
  9. >And now, you are stuck working at poneland's equivalent of Forever 21, listening to your co-worker all day
  10. >"So that's that, right? Anyways, I-"
  11. >His regular rantings are cut off by a beep
  12. >"Ah, Celestia-damnit. Nonny, can you do me a solid? I have a date with a REAALLLY cute mare in, like, 20 minutes. Can you just cover my shift for me? I know it's going to be, like, super boring cause it's the time where nopony comes, but can you just do it for a bro?"
  13. "Sure. Oh wait what the fuck-"
  14. >"EEEEE thanks colt! You're the best!"
  15. >He gives you a quick hug and leaves in a blur
  16. >FUCK
  17. >Your shift was ending soon, and now you have to stay for 2 more hours
  18. >AT THE OFF-PEAK TIMES, NO LESS!
  19. >There was a new episode of that new animoo airing today!
  20. >That bastard is gonna pay when you next see him
  21. >You sigh and return to the register
  22. >No use crying over split milk
  23. >As the time went by, less and less colts frequented the store
  24. >You counted, and Back in Black has now looped in your head for the 50th time now
  25. >God, how did cousin Incognito stand working in retail?!
  26. >Oh, look, no stallion came by to interrupt your thoughts this time
  27. >Must've started already, what the employees refer to as "The Dead Silent Hours"
  28. >Pretty self-explanatory, actually, but you didn't expect ponies to be good at naming shit to begin with
  29. >You walk away from the register ,take a seat near the dressing rooms, and wait
  30. >Some of the workers here have a escape from the boredom, called "ditching work", but you're not gonna do that
  31. >You are a man who follows his duties, no matter how filled with bullshit it is!
  32. >You hear a ding from the doors
  33. >What the heckles
  34. >Who the hell could be coming in at this time?
  35. >You look over
  36. >Huh
  37. >It's a mare, very rare to see here
  38. >Did you just rhyme in your head?
  39. >The song magics must be getting to you
  40. >Whatever, she's just probably lost, and you can go back to sitting around when she's out of here
  41. "Hello, miss. Welcome to Et Cetera, Et Cetera. How may I help you today?"
  42. >The mare adjusts her wide-framed glasses
  43. >"Y-You too, m'sir."
  44. "Excuse me?"
  45. >"I MEAN. Hi, I'm looking, for. Umm, clothes for a friend! Yeah! Clothes for a friend."
  46. >Just, don't question it, Anon. Crazies are a thing, and sometimes you have to deal with them
  47. "Alright, then. The section for mares is over there."
  48. >You point to the pink sign where all the dresses are
  49. >"Actually, ehh. How do I say this."
  50. >She tugs on her turtleneck
  51. >"My friend is a...colt, and I'm going to get colt clothes for him."
  52. >What
  53. >Then why doesn't he just...fuck it
  54. "OK? Well, follow me, miss. I'll show you what we have here for colts."
  55. >You walk over to the selection of suits, and you hear small "woah" and "wow"s coming out of her every once in a while as she follows you, looking around like a kid in a candy store
  56. >You stop at a rack of dress shirts
  57. "Do you see anything you need?"
  58. >"Are there any that fit my size?"
  59. >OK, we're heading into danger territory here
  60. >You raise an eyebrow
  61. >"Uhh, my friend is very skinny! He's very tiny for a colt, and my measurements just happen to match his!"
  62. >She's sweating bullets
  63. >Yup, she's buying colt clothing for herself, nothing to hide there
  64. >But it would be fun to mess with her
  65. "Yes we do, actually. Lets seee. Ah! here."
  66. >You pick out a collection of XS attires
  67. "These should fit you, oh sorry, your FRIEND well."
  68. >She cringes at the bit where you said "friend"
  69. >"T-Thanks."
  70. "Would you like to try them on?"
  71. >"HUH?! N-No! I'm sure these are good! I'll just bring it home-I mean to him and it'll be all good!"
  72. "Are you sure? I mean, what if it's the wrong size? You said you share measurements with him. Why not just try it on?"
  73. >You're pretty sure her face can't be any more red than they can be right now
  74. "There's not gonna be anyone other than you coming in here, so it's fine, right? I wont judge, because I know it's for, your, FRIEND."
  75. >She just stands there in silence
  76. >"I guess it's fine to wear them," she whispers
  77. >Hook, line and sinker
  78. >You clap your hands together
  79. "Great! Dressing rooms are over there. Just holler if you need anything."
  80. >"O-OK."
  81. >You watch her slowly enter the room
  82. >Dis goin be gud
  83. >A few minutes pass, you hear her call out
  84. >"I-I think I'm good here."
  85. "Is everything fitting?"
  86. >"...Yes."
  87. "Can you please come out and show me?"
  88. >"..."
  89. >Damn, she's not complying
  90. >Use the skills you've learned from retail, Anon!
  91. "A male knows how to dress proper, and I think you should show me whether everything will be good for your FRIEND or not."
  92. >Again, silence
  93. >The door creaks open, and she steps out, dressed in a tiny business suit
  94. >D'aww, she's all embarassed
  95. "Hmm, everything seems fine here."
  96. >"Really?"
  97. "Yeah! For a second there, I almost mistook you for a stallion!"
  98. >A little glimmer appears in her purple gaze
  99. >"Yes! I mean, let's just...check out."
  100. "Alright. I think everything's in order, too. Just take those off and I'll see you at the register."
  101. >She hurries back into the dressing room and rushes back out in mere seconds
  102. >She's REALLY excited about this
  103. >It's actually kind of funny, seeing her getting this happy over clothing
  104. >You run everything over and remove the magic alarm tags
  105. "Do you need a bag for this?"
  106. >"YES."
  107. "Okey Dokey, that will be 82 bits," you reply as you begin to pack up everything
  108. >She hands over a few coins and nearly bolts out of the store after RIPPING the bag out of your hands
  109. >"Okthankyouseeyou!"
  110. >You have a feeling that she'll be visiting here very soon
