  1. The power of two
  2.
  3. Once upon a time, in the world of Pokémon...
  4. Well our story is a tad different than the average story you would expect to hear, but nonetheless it is a good one. There once was a boy named Dave, he was only 15 years old, ready to face the world on his own. He prepared himself for the long day ahead of him, knowing today could easily be the best, or worst, day he would ever have. As Dave walked out of his house he spied the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.
  5.
  6. He knew her, quite well actually, her name was Emily. She had dark brown hair and beautiful brown eyes, she was absolutely stunning. Dave continued walking towards the Pokémon lab where his first Pokémon would be found. As he walked into the door, he realised that Emily, like he, was 15 and ready to get her very own Pokémon. He thought to himself, "This could be my chance, my last and only chance, to talk with Emily." Knowing this piece of information, he began to think of anything possible for him to say to her to make himself seem interesting, or funny, or romantic.
  7.
  8. Racking his brain for something, anything when it finally hit him, just in time as well considering she walked through the door at that very moment. Emily walked towards the professor to obtain her very first Pokémon, she grabbed the pokeball containing Oshawott, the water otter Pokémon. Dave saw it was his last chance, he quickly grabbed the pokeball containing Tepig and ran to Emily. Dave had it all planned out, or so he thought. "Emily, wait up!" Dave shouted, she turned back towards him, he froze. Dave thought to himself, okay self, keep calm you can do this. " I was just wondering if you were going with anybody on your journey..." Emily looked at Dave and smiled, "Actually I'm not. Why do you ask?" She surely knew why he was asking but she just wanted to see him sweat. Dave looked into her eyes and said, “Well I was hoping that we could go together... but if you have oth-" Emily quickly interrupted him, " I would love to go with you Dave" she said with a gentle smile.

  10. This was either a great sign, or a terrible omen. As optimistic as Dave was, he was sure that it was not the first thing. Emily saw that Dave was uneasy, but she could not understand why. He just stood there like a statue staring off into the clouds. As she looked up to see, what he was staring at Dave regained his composure. “So, shall we head off?” Dave asked with a slight hint of nervousness in his voice. “Sure, what were you staring at though?” Emily asked inquisitively. “Um… nothing,” Dave replied slowly, even as he said it though, he did not believe it. The two friends began to slowly walk towards the road, leading to all kinds of adventure; all Dave could think of though was the imminent danger. They walked in silence for a little while until Emily broke the ice. “Um, how about we have a battle? It might help out our Pokémon in one way or another.” Dave agreed although he was not entirely sure if it was too clever of him.
  11.
  12. The battle began, Emily sent out her brand new Pokémon who let out a fierce roar. Dave took the pokéball from his jacket and tossed it into the playing field. Tepig landed, utterly confused, when Emily’s Oshawott shot out a water gun attack. The only thing Dave could do was to shout for Tepig to dodge, which he did, in fact he dodge quite quickly. Dave called for a tackle from his Tepig, Emily quickly told Oshawott to hit it with a water gun as hard as he could. Tepig dodged the water gun and hit Oshawott with a devastating tackle, knocking Oshawott aback. Dave thought he had the battle in the bag when suddenly Emily’s Oshawott let out a huge water gun taking Tepig to ground with one solid hit. Tepig would not stand up, Dave was worried, he at first thought he could win this, but when Emily hit him with that water gun his hope of winning slowly diminished. When Tepig finally got up, they both knew it was much too late. Emily saw this as her chance to finish the battle. She called for one more water gun to finish Tepig off and claim victory. Tepig simply would not be beaten, and neither would Dave. The determination between Dave and Tepig was overpowering, invigorating, it would spell the end for Emily and her Oshawott. The water blasted, Tepig began to run, a cloud of dust kicked up by his feet. Then, silence. There was but a cloud of dust in the air and nothing more. Who had won? Would Dave claim an unlikely win? Would Emily taste the sweet nectar that was victory? The wind blew; the dust faded, and on the ground lay… Oshawott. Dave had won, or had he? There on the ground next to Oshawott, was Tepig. Neither one of them had enough energy to stand. This surely, was a tie. Emily and Dave carried their fallen Pokémon to the nearest Pokémon center. The nurse there took their Pokémon, Emily and Dave sat in the hard, yet comfortable chairs in the center discussing the battle, recalling dodges made the great strategy and more importantly the devastating hits. Dave and Emily thought it would be best to take this time to call their mothers. As old as they were, they could not forget about their mothers. Each call that was made the first sentence spoken was about the second person. For Emily her mother commented on Dave being there and vice versa. Their mothers bid them farewell yet again and they sat in silence for the second time that day.

  14. Finally, after hours of waiting the nurse called them to come get their Pokémon. “So, Emily, do you know where we are going to stay tonight? That might be something good to know.” said Dave, “Err. No. I do not know where we are going to stay tonight. Um, we could find a hotel I suppose.” Emily exclaimed, surprised she had not thought of that. Off they went to find a hotel for themselves to rest in. They searched for at least an hour before they could finally find a place to stay. It was called "The Heracross Hotel", the hotel seemed very nice; it had a pool, lots of rooms, free breakfast, a weight room, and finally a battle field. Emily and Dave bought their room and went straight up to it. Sleep was all they had on their minds, they didn't even admire the surroundings. They both crawled into bed and quickly fell asleep. When they awoke they appeared to be holding each other, close, tight, more like a hug between two people that have been together forever. Dave was awake first, so to keep things as normal as he could he backed off, let go of her and went to sit on the balcony. When Emily awoke she found herself alone, she couldn't see anybody, not Dave, not Oshawott, not Tepig. She was worried, but she ensured herself that they would show up, she went to take a shower to try and keep her mind off of her missing friends.
  15.
  16. It didn't work at all. She couldn't stop thinking about them, they were everything to her, all of them. After her shower she started to remember her dream, she dreamt that She and Dave were together, holding each other, in love. But was it a dream? Could it ever be reality? Emily couldn't begin to think of these possibilities. She lay down on the bed, and almost began to cry. Dave walked in at that very moment. He immediately ran to Emily, seeing she was crying, he tried to talk with her and make sure she was okay. The only thing Dave thought he could do was to call her mother and have her talk to Emily. The phone rang and a simple, "Hello?" was heard. Dave told her what was happening and gave the phone to Emily, he then went back out to the balcony.
  17.
  18. "Mom, I need to talk to you." Emily said, her crying had ended. "I think I love Dave, what can I do?" Emily had to tell someone how she felt but she didn't know if she could tell Dave. Her mother spoke to her gently, "Sweetheart, if that's how you feel, you need to tell him. There is no way you can be with him for so long without telling him." Emily wasn't sure if she could do it, but she knew it was the right thing to do. "Thanks mom, I'm starting to feel a lot better." Emily said thankfully, "I'll talk to you later, okay? Bye mom." and with that she hung up the phone. A few minutes later Emily and Dave walked out. Dave knew that today was the day he had to tell her how he felt, after a quick talk with his mother on the balcony, he had realised this. He brought Emily to a beautiful park, filled with fountains, flowers, people and Pokémon. "This place is beautiful!" Emily exclaimed, "Why are we here though Dave?".
  19.
  20. "Emily, I just wanted to tell you that..." Dave paused, he didn't know if he could finish that sentence, " That I... I... I love you." Dave couldn't bear to look at her reaction, too afraid it wouldn't be good. She looked at him, and gently kissed him on the cheek. "Me too Dave." Emily said quietly. Just as they looked back at each other, they heard an ear piercing scream. They looked over, and saw a giant Pokémon, Dave knew it was the same one he had seen in Lancerville. HE quickly explained to Emily that he saw this creature once before, on the day that they got their Pokémon to be exact. He said that he had to stay and fight it, to save this lovely town. Emily told him she had to stay with him no matter what. Together they fought the creature with all their might, and hours and hours were spent fighting this thing. But they both knew it was okay, because they were together. When the creature finally fell, Dave said, "Emily, nothing will ever separate us. I promise." and with that our heroes went on to battle in gyms, in leagues, travel the world, and save the world many a time. But no matter where they went, Dave kept his promise. They were always together, and always would be.
