"All I Want Is…EVERYTHING" (…and so do YOU)      by PHH  2/23/21

  Whether Democrat or Republican…Left, Right, "changing lanes" or even completely indifferent…most of us want similar things in life: Health, wealth, happiness, safety, security and our voices to count & be heard in our community. Basically, we desire "EVERYTHING" good that's offered to us in our U.S. Constitution & Bill of Rights. Considering this, I am very concerned that the person serving as president of our HOA is also the "official" moderator (CENSOR) for our neighborhood's primary online community…The Nextdoor App. A very concerning power grab.

  In her capacity as the Next Door App moderator for our area, HOA President, Cindy Segovia has participated in silencing my voice by repeatedly removing events & news from our online NextDoor App community.
As homeowners in Forest Woods, we desire to meet other "family-friendly" residents to warm and brighten our lives. Life in Forest Woods lacks a community center, so we turned to The Nextdoor App to post an event in hopes to meet others with like passions. This didn't go as planned.

 My first post: "Make America Great Again, 4th of July!" hosted at our house. Hotdogs, fireworks, apple pie…you know…the American dream…right? Didn't expect a crowd, but maybe a few? Well, Cindy Segovia, in her capacity as Nextdoor App "Moderator" for our area, flagged the post for removal. Well, it was. In doing this, she acted against our rights of: peaceful assembly, freedom of speech, pursuit of happiness & self expression. This is not someone I want representing our HOA.

  So, I made another event try, with an approach distanced from politics. I posted a non-partisan event: "See You At The Flagpole" We gather at a local park and pledge allegiance to our beautiful Red, White & Blue National flag. Pray 4 USA. Sounds great…meet others who love our nation, hang out & make friends? Surely this is would work? Nope. Cindy flagged it for removal. It was. Religious freedom attacked by deletion. My post was a violation of "community guidelines? Do these ppl hate our flag & prayer?

  Later, when we survived an attempt on our children being abducted at a nearby big name store, I reached out to our nextdoor community to give a general warning to parents. Cindy Segovia stood in the way flagging my post for removal. It was. A few got our warning before it disappeared. This is a breech of our neighborhood watch capabilities and our overall public safety. I like neighborhood watch. Things are getting serious.

  My final post was a war cry for FREEDOM. Ironically, it was to voice violations of waning Constitutional rights. "Medina County, Texas Peaceful Protest" Almost immediately, the California-based NextDoor App completely removed my account…or…was this deleted by Cindy Segovia practicing Marxism or
"Cancel-Culture" tactics? I confronted her in person about her totally illegal unconstitutional activities. Her response: "Well, we can agree to disagree." You could have heard a pin drop. I told her "I want my freedom of speech back & willing to sue to have it." Time to stand against tyranny.

 Our Forest Woods HOA President, Cindy Segovia unapologetically violated  civil rights, broke Federal & Texas State laws, directly opposed our U.S. Constitution, brazenly disregarded of our Bill of Rights & used her position of power to undermine public safety. Yes, predatory activity is a grave danger & parents have a right to know. C.S. deleted it. A year-round fake BURN BAN sign presents a potential wildfire hazard to our community. And both occurred on her "HOA Presidential" watch. So unprofessional.

  This is not a personal attack on the private citizen Cindy Segovia. I do not know this person. However, the values she practiced against our family are not a fit in ANY free country. Marxism and "Cancel-Culture" have no place here in the USA & unfortunately, our HOA president practices both. Tried to reach out to Forest Woods HOA Board members, but their online contact info is not posted. I discovered "poa@forestwoods.org" is a rejected email link on https://forestwoods.eunify.net/default.asp Obviously, i'm not on NextDoor app. I still have freedom of the press, hence my laser printed grievances. We can do way better than this. SMH.

  Cindy Segovia, is perched above our only form of community AND our Home Owners Association. Her censoring activities pose both a conflict of interest & breech of public trust. Consider her power: All Forest Woods discussions, community gatherings, community planning, board meetings, future community discussions; community center, splashpad & pool, excercise facility (we have none of these)…hot debate topics; running for office, HOA decisions, complaints all under her total power to "moderate", censor & DELETE w/stroke of her keyboard. WAY too much power! Do you agree?

 Homeowners should be EQUALS in HOA community, each holding a say in matters. HOA President Cindy Segovia has displayed (via her Nextdoor censorsing activities) that citizens can & should be silenced at her whim. This disqualifies her for any sort of representative office. I call for Cindy Segovia's resignation as HOA President. Who seconds my motion?
