But I want babies

Alexithymiaa: -After getting Felix his fucking smoothie, Steph started to head over to the baby store upstairs, a mission set in her mind to find more giraffe things for Baby B. "Honestly I really want to find a giant fluffy stuffed giraffe. I feel like it's necessary." She spoke as she stepped into the store, glancing around at the different departments ahead.-
Covet  Felix was sucking down his smoothie, only half listening to Steph , then he realized he should respond. " Yeah, all kids need giant stuffed animals." He followed along then tipped his head to the side, "Baby stores don't smell like babies do they? Like that's part of some secret marketing scheme, they have air freshners that are called, "New Baby Scent" and because the smell of babies is apparently so addicting, it brings people in, gets them all stir crazy...." He said babbling. The smoothie not working to keep his mouth occupied.
Alexithymiaa: "What the fuck are you talking about?" She retorted, stopping to turn and glare at him because he was being weird. "This isn't Abercrombie. They don't bottle their stink and spray it on their products in here." She said before turning back around to continue walking, heading over into the clothing section.-
Covet: "Huh?" He asked her chewing on his straw, "I don't know these things. I just assumed all mall stores did things like that. I mean, look at Preztlemaker and cinnabon... They know how this works." He said walking into the store with her, as she went to clothes, " I thought we were looking for a giraffe thing?"
Alexithymiaa: "The smell of Cinnabon makes me nauseous." She grumbled, casually glancing over cute little baby dresses that were cute that she had no intention of buying since they didnt know the sex of the baby. "Multiple giraffe things. My plan is to buy a little bit at a time so that overall I can get them everything I want, and still make it affordable for me. I intend to buy a ridiculous amount of giraffe themed things." She paused, picking up a pack of onesies that were in assorted animal prints, including giraffe. "But how fucking cute is this?"-
Covet: "How can it make-..." Felix started to say then stopped himself before he was an ass. Nodding his head, "That's smart." His eyes narrowed on the onesies and he raised an eyebrow, "That's cool, like you have a tiny animal rolling around the floor. Do they make animal outfits, like with the little hoods that have the ears?"
Alexithymiaa: -Her eyes lit up as she turned to look at his face. "I really hope so. Maybe we can find one. That would be the cutest thing ever. And I would be eternally jealous. Unless I bought two and just put one in storage for when I have my own children..." She trailed off, holding onto the animal printed onesies she intended to buy, but was kind of drifting off into her own world of baby daydreams.-
Covet: "Yeah?" Felix asked because he didn't really mean it as a completely legitimate suggestion, but she seemed to be entertained by it. Hearing her comment about getting one for herself to stash away, "I'm pretty sure that's how hoarding starts." He said sipping off his chewed up straw. " Do they make funny baby shirts like they have for adults?"
Alexithymiaa: "Hey, it's called being well prepared." She corrected him, beginning to move through the racks of clothes as she continued to browse again. "Yes, but not usually as funny in my opinion. But the mission here is giraffe things." She stopped when she saw a little Easter dress, picking it up and essentially cooing at it. "I love when they have the little formal outfits for infants. It's pretty much the cutest thing I've ever seen. I don't even know which I think is cuter, the little dresses or the little ties." She was going baby crazy.-
Covet: " Oh, okay. Girlscout." He said with a smirk, then scoffed at her, "Your mission is giraffe things, Mine is whatever I want." Felix said all bratty like. "That's not giraffe things." He told her, then scrunched up his nose. " If adults hate getting all dressed up, why do people subject infants to that kind of torture. They don't understand why they have all this poof and frill, and they're probably just going to spit up on it five minutes into wearing it. Poor babies. They don't deserve that kind of torture. Even if they do look like munckin outfits."
Alexithymiaa: "Oh come on. Just because you hate getting dressed up doesn't mean all babies would hate it." She shot back, picking up a little boy's outfit of slacks and suspenders and a little dress shirt with a bowtie sewn into the collar. "You can't tell me this isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen. I can't wait until we get to do this."-
Covet: "Don't say that like I'm the only one who hates getting dressed up. I've heard you complain about your dresses and the shoes." He said to her, then watched as she pulled out the suspender outfit. "Eh... I've seen cuter things. Baby chimpmunks fighting over goldfish crackers, tops my list of cutest things ever, just saying." He said then nearly choked on his smoothie as she mentioned wanting to baby clothes shop.
Alexithymiaa: "Well yeah, but I still like the way I feel when I'm dressed up." She retorted, placing the little outfit back on the rack and turning to pat him on the back because choking. "Are you okay?" She said with a little laugh, peering up into his face. "Who the hell chokes on a smoothie? You're really living up to that Scarecrow title."-
Covet: "But Babies don't understand that." He said coughing a few times. " Yeah.. I'm good... Just went down the wrong pipe." He said taking a few breaths. " But they will have cooler, more comfortable things, well in the future for if we do that...I hope."
Alexithymiaa: -She smiled and rubbed his back a bit before dropping her hand to her side. "Cooler, more comfortable things?" She asked him, beginning to laugh again before she processed the rest of his statement. "If?" She asked, her smile sliding off her face as she stared at him.-
Covet: "Yeah, not a bunch of monkey suits, and tutus." He told her Then he watched her laugh fall from her face as she asked him, "If?" He gave a sheepish look. "Yeah... If. I mean, we don't know what's going to happen in the future, so if.. it's not a bad thing, just a word."
Alexithymiaa: "I don't know, I was pretty confident about our future..." She trailed off, pursing her lips and glancing down at the onesies in her hand. "I thought... we'd discussed the future."-
Alexithymiaa: "I thought... we'd discussed the future. Do you not see a future for us?" She asked, lifting her eyes to his face.- ** (I left that out.)
Covet: "Our future is great, Of course I see a future for us. I'm not saying that anything is going to happen to us or anything. Just a hypothetical word. No different than maybe." He told her cupping her face. "I didn't mean to kill your baby shopping vibe, I just.. wasn't thinking when I said that."
Alexithymiaa: -She kept her eyes on his face, unconvinced by his words. "But saying maybe is still insinuating it might not happen..." She trailed off, trying to shrug off the topic now that the vibe was definitely dead. "It's fine, it doesn't matter. I should just go pay for this." She said quickly, pulling away from him and turning around to begin heading in the direction of the register.-
Covet: Felix sighed as she walked off towards the register following after her with his head down, because he didn't mean to crush her dreams or anything. He just didn't think before he spoke. He was quiet the rest of the time on their way home, and kept his conversation hesitant and cordial with her, not wanting to upset her anymore than he already had.
