  1. PewPewU's practice routine (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LRnhBYquweA)
  2.
  3. Adapted by Auro
  4.
  5. This is a 20 minute practice routine that doubles as a warmup for tournament and as daily practice for steady improvement. For tournament you might not have time, but you should try to do at least 2-5 minutes of it.
  6.
  7. Set the timer to infinite, Yoshi's Story, and turn AI off so you aren't distracted
  8.
  9. Free up your entire body, stretch your hands as well as shoulders and neck, breathe deeply and relax your whole body (IMPORTANT)
  10.
  11. Treat every practice session as if you are playing a tournament game. This means play the same colour Marth, same tag, game music/personal music exactly how you would expect to play a tournament game. This is not only to prepare yourself for tournament matches but to allow your brain to associate with and achieve the same flawless execution in the tournament that you do in practice.
  12.
  13.
  14.
  15. 1. Ground Movement
  16.
  17. Start slow while warming up, and get faster/ add more dashes and wavedashes as you go
  18.
  19. -Full length dash dance in centre stage. You should be able to dash dance almost the entire centre circle of Yoshi's. Full length dashes get Marth the most mileage so even though this seems like a basic skill that is learned once, It is one of the most important steps that must be maintained and mastered. Start off slow, and remember to keep breathing and relaxings your neck and back. Get the blood flowing.
  20.
  21. -Increase speed. Close the DD with faster dashes
  22.
  23. -Mixup dash dance ranges and directions - maintain full control, if you accidentally leave the circle or end up in a run bring it back into control with a wavedash and continue.
  24.
  25. -Foxtrot around the stage. try to reach far left to far right in 2.5 foxtrots, and back again.
  26.
  27. -Dashdance from far left to far right of stage. You should have minimal range backdashes and max range forward dashes
  28.
  29. -Increase speed and go crazy with all of the above across the stage. If you get tired that's ok, try not to take a break and remember the goal is to be able to maintain movement that fast in tournament without getting tired and without mistakes. Don't forget the full range dashes and dashdances!
  30.
  31. -Go crazy with the same movement on the top platform. Go right to the edges but try not to fall off. It requires very tight movement.
  32.
  33. -Run cancel downtilt at various spacings, run cancel into dash forward/dash back (ADVANCED)
  34.
  35. 2. Ledges
  36.
  37. Remember to practice on both ledges equally. If you find yourself more comfortable on one side, don't get complacent and practice on it more. You need to build consistency on both sides.
  38.
  39. Every time you wavedash back to ledge, always practice making the fast fall to ledge as frame perfect as possible. There is always more room for improvement with this and it can lead to some insane edgeguards and edgehogs.
  40.
  41. -No Impact Land (NIL) onto stage from ledge. Wavedash back to ledge as fast as possible.
  42.
  43. -Every aerial from the ledge. try different drifts, early/late aerials, fair refresh, dropdown rising aerials
  44.
  45. -Ledge dashing (and ledgedash grab/uptilt/shield)
  46.
  47. -try to get from one ledge to the other in the fastest time possible, and back again
  48.
  49. -Hax dashes (ADVANCED)
  50.
  51. 3. Platforms
  52.
  53. -shield drops, shield drop aerials and shield drop wavelands (both sides)
  54.
  55. -edge cancel aerials (you can develop a circuit to traverse the level doing this, very fun)
  56.
  57. -wavelands up, down and around the stage (you can also circuit this)
  58.
  59. -NIL onto platforms (ADVANCED)
  60.
  61. 4. Aerials
  62.
  63. When practicing short hop double aerials remember to practice doing them to both the left and right equally. Even after learning to do SH double fair to the left I still couldn't SH double fair to the right, but I didn't get disheartened and I eventually trained my body to be fast enough. It's very hard, but you can do it!
  64.
  65. -SH double fair to the left and right
  66.
  67. -SH fair upair to the left and right
  68.
  69. -SH fair wavelands
  70.
  71. -empty hop wavelands and empty hop fastfall wavelands
  72.
  73. 5. Putting it all together
  74.
  75. -put everything you practiced above together. Earlier you were trying for consistency and control. now try to do it fast, for at least 3 minutes if you can.
  76.
  77. -put additional time into anything you think that needs it. if theres anything above that you cannot execute yet, put time into learning it. Or practice combos. Whatever you feel like doing or what you think needs improvement
  78.
  79. Remember to have fun! practice like this can easily become a chore for some people but remember it is still your favourite game and you can find tonnes of ways to make the practice more enjoyable for yourself.
