- 3/12/25, 11:34 AM - G: <Media omitted>
- 3/12/25, 11:34 AM - C: Nah I tend to get my mess cleaned up as soon as I can. Never leave it past 24 hours
- 3/12/25, 11:35 AM - C: Derek or more likely than not Garrett are my best guesses
- 3/12/25, 11:36 AM - G: Ok.
- For the benefit of others please take care of it same day.....Thx
- And by the way, have you had a paycheck yet ?
- Cuz now we are at 5 weeks with no rent
- 3/12/25, 11:39 AM - C: Yeah I'm waiting on this check to come in from the company I was doing account management for. Had to stop work until I get some kind of income from them. I should be able to get you something by Monday hopefully, I start getting tips at the Holiday Inn this weekend and even if it's only 50 dollars or so it's still something. And I'll try to get you something every few days (so long as I make cash tips) until I get my first check from them (22nd). That is assuming this account management position has flaked on me or left me out to dry. But I will absolutely keep you updated. Sorry for the protracted wait but I am absolutely working on it
- 3/12/25, 11:40 AM - G: Ok.
- What happened to top golf?
- 3/12/25, 11:41 AM - C: They wouldn't work with my schedule at Holiday Inn and the pay and tips are 4x what they are at top golf
- 3/12/25, 11:42 AM - C: Short term sacrifices for long term gains is the way it seems like it will work out. With hard work and a little luck. Plus I can work on building my business during the day since I'm nights only now
- 3/12/25, 3:04 PM - G: What business ?
- 3/12/25, 3:09 PM - C: One I've been working on for a couple of years now with a friend who works for Lockheed Martin for his day job. A technology company specializing in AI and machine learning and engineering basically. We submitted a government proposal on Friday and I'm working on the commercial facing product's proposal now
- 3/12/25, 3:16 PM - G: Oh cool 😎
- 3/13/25, 3:41 PM - C: Will you be in the office tomorrow?
- 3/13/25, 3:53 PM - G: Only buy appointment.
- Do you need to see me?
- 3/13/25, 3:54 PM - G: I'm sorry I thought tomorrow was Saturday.
- It's Friday so I will be in and out
- 3/13/25, 3:54 PM - C: Just to give you a bit of money. Don't know how much yet. Just LMK when you're in the office and I'll swing by
- 3/13/25, 4:02 PM - G: Ok. But it would be easier when you know the amount of money and you're ready to just call me and we can meet anywhere even if it's not at the office
- 3/13/25, 4:05 PM - C: That's fine too
- 3/14/25, 2:08 PM - C: Ready to meet when you are. I have work at 430 otherwise I'm open
- 3/14/25, 2:26 PM - G: If you can go to
- 2721 Clayton NW
- Huntsville AL
- I'll meet you there in 15 minutes
- 3/14/25, 2:26 PM - C: That works. See you in a few
- 3/14/25, 2:40 PM - G: If you see a 35-year-old dark-haired guy with vampire fangs just tell him to wait for me
- 3/14/25, 2:41 PM - C: Lol
- 3/15/25, 9:26 AM - C: Grabbing breakfast with my girlfriend then we can meet when and wherever you want to start
- 3/15/25, 9:29 AM - G: I have to go to Owens crossroads at 10:00 and I'll probably be done at 11:00 am
- 3/15/25, 9:50 AM - C: Okay just LMK when you're on the way back and we'll meet p
- 3/15/25, 9:50 AM - C: Up
- 3/15/25, 11:40 AM - C: Still wanna try to get together? Not sure if you got held up or what just touching base
- 3/15/25, 11:43 AM - G: I can be there at 12:05 p.m.
- 3/15/25, 11:43 AM - C: Alright what's the address?
- 3/15/25, 11:44 AM - G: 3608 Fairview Street SW
- Huntsville AL
- 3/17/25, 7:27 PM - C: So someone is taking my food. First it was some rice, which is relatively cheap so I wasn't going to make a fuss. But someone took some eggs and potatoes today and i don't know who or when. As I'm sure you're aware Eggs are far from cheap right now, and I'd rather focus my extra cash on catching up on my rent than buying food to feed the house. I only have 30 bucks to last until Friday and even 8 dollars is a big ask atm. So if you could alert the roommates to not touch the food on the top shelf in the fridge or the second shelf in the cabinet, and not to take food that isn't theirs I would appreciate it. I figured this would be better than trying to confront anyone myself
- 3/21/25, 10:01 AM - G: I'm sorry for the delay in response man I just been buried with text messages.
- Do you need me to get you a refrigerator for your room ?
- 3/21/25, 10:01 AM - G: And by the way are these your dishes below
- 3/21/25, 10:02 AM - G: <Media omitted>
- 3/21/25, 10:03 AM - G: <Media omitted>
- 3/21/25, 11:50 AM - C: No they most definitely are not. I solely cook vegan food so my girlfriend can eat it. She has an allergy caused by covid that disallows her from eating animal proteins. If you have a mini fridge or something available that would be great though. I should be able to meet you tomorrow and get you some more money to get a bit caught up on rent as well.
- 3/21/25, 11:50 AM - C: Well red meat and dairy more particularly.
- 3/21/25, 11:53 AM - G: You've only been on your new job about a week and a half right?
- 3/21/25, 12:10 PM - C: Next week will be my 4th week. I get my first check today and make cash after my shift (tips)
- 3/21/25, 3:11 PM - G: I thought you were making tips everyday?
- 3/21/25, 3:12 PM - C: I am. Just got a lot of things to take care of. So I'm trying to pace everything accordingly. Had to replace a tire because mine blew on the interstate, gas and food, now I can start taking care of rent as the money becomes available because I'm done playing catch up. Either way I'll have some for what I owe tomorrow, if that works for you. If not I can just add it to rent next month
- 3/21/25, 3:26 PM - G: Pay me through Venmo ASAP.
- Not next month please.
- We're 7 weeks into the tenancy with $300 total paid and I haven't even figured late fees yet.
- Frankly, I'm very worried on your ability to produce
- 3/21/25, 3:55 PM - C: With 180 in credits from references right? Which means I have 20 bucks left on my rent and whatever I pay to catch up is just paying down the deposit, am I correct?
- 3/21/25, 3:59 PM - C: But yes I'm planning on having the rent available before Friday since I'll be making full tips full time and I'll know my full schedule for next week tonight. Last night was the first night I made more than 50 dollars (I made tips during my training but it wasn't a lot, just enough to get by--last night was my first night making actual tips) and I'll be working this weekend.
- 3/21/25, 4:08 PM - C: Then I still have to file taxes from last year and the year before but I have to get at least 4 w2's and one is from a business that closed so I gotta spend a couple days next week figuring that out
- 3/21/25, 4:58 PM - G: Haven't read your text yet cuz I'm driving but can you please find out who's leaving the dishes in the sink
- 3/21/25, 5:02 PM - C: I'll do my best
- 3/21/25, 5:10 PM - C: Oh I thought today was next week Friday, the 28th for some odd reason. No I'll have rent close to if not fully caught up by Friday.
- 3/22/25, 11:58 AM - G: Please refer back to the text I sent you on the regular text thread (not WhatsApp) on March 1st. It explains that you already got all your credits and your balance was $599 for February.
- On a side note the company is willing to waive the late fee on the first time a tenant is late and for you that's February.
- So on February 28th you owed $599 as explained in the text I sent you on March 1st on the regular text thread.
- March 1st your rent charge was $598 again + leftover February balance $599 = $1,197 new balance (without March late fees)
- Last week you paid me $100 = $1,097 updated balance without March late fees.
- HOW MUCH WERE YOU PLANNING ON PAYING TODAY ?
- 3/28/25, 5:22 PM - G: Have you sent the Venmo payment yet?
- Usually you call me and want to get together. And today is the day that you're supposed to have $600
- Please update me
- 3/29/25, 8:49 AM - G: Make sure you're moved out today and give the keys to David downstairs
- 3/29/25, 8:49 AM - G: I'll be by this afternoon to check
- 3/29/25, 8:51 AM - C: I was at work last night and the other bartender left early. I honestly went home and passed out. I've got 350 but I have to figure out how to get it on venmo
- 3/29/25, 8:52 AM - C: FYI I usually work at 430 until midnight so if I don't answer after 4 that's why
- 3/29/25, 8:53 AM - G: I don't care.
- You need to be moved out today.
- You've given me $100 in the last 2 months which clearly shows your inability to pay rent or generate money
- 3/29/25, 8:56 AM - C: G I've had a bit of job fluctuation and have been trying to minimize how much I'm borrowing. I should be caught up by Friday since I will have my check plus tips coming in this next week. I get what you're thinking but give me until Friday please. If I don't get at least 80% caught up, at least, then I move out. Sound fair? Starting with the 350 today
- 3/29/25, 8:58 AM - C: The only reason I haven't given you any money is you specifically asked for money via venmo and I'm honestly trying to figure out how to deposit cash into my venmo account
- 3/29/25, 9:10 AM - C: Well I'll have 600 before I go to work at 4. Let me know if I should send it. That would at least cover this month.
- 3/29/25, 9:22 AM - G: That's what you always say, "I'm going to have it Friday"
- David, Mark and I will be there this afternoon to make sure you're out
- 3/29/25, 9:23 AM - G: Besides that you can't even keep the kitchen clean
- 3/29/25, 9:23 AM - C: I'm saying I have 600 today
- 3/29/25, 9:23 AM - G: What time will you have $600 today?
- 3/29/25, 9:23 AM - C: I haven't been leaving any dishes. I cleaned up after myself every time and I even swept yesterday. I don't know why you think I'm leaving it dirty
- 3/29/25, 9:24 AM - C: I have 250 to send now I have to go load the 350 onto venmo sometime before work
- 3/29/25, 9:24 AM - G: Are you saying you have the 350 in cash ?
- 3/29/25, 9:24 AM - C: You keep showing me pictures of dishes that are not mine G
- 3/29/25, 9:24 AM - C: Yes
- 3/29/25, 9:25 AM - C: I've had it I just haven't had time to handle that. My girlfriend has been dealing with an extremely volatile situation that left her in physical danger and I'm trying to help her out with it. Today is the first day there hasn't been some emergency. Her ex is extremely unstable and owns a gun.
- 3/29/25, 9:25 AM - G: When is the next time you're going to have $600 ?
- 3/29/25, 9:26 AM - C: Probably Friday. That's when I get paid and I have 4 shifts between now and then. I average 100-150 every shift depending on business
- 3/29/25, 9:26 AM - C: So 300 dollar check plus minimum of 400 between now and then. Even between gas and food I can still get you 600 by Friday
- 3/29/25, 9:27 AM - G: You also keep telling me you have all this work but you never send any money.
- You're acting like a drug addict
- 3/29/25, 9:28 AM - G: I'll talk to you in a little while I have to get my car worked on right now
- 3/29/25, 9:28 AM - C: Then meet me so I can give it to you
- 3/29/25, 9:28 AM - G: Please stop giving me this long story about all your problems.
- I don't care about your problems and it's not going to change anything.
- I just want to talk about rent getting paid and nothing else
- 3/29/25, 9:28 AM - C: I'm literally trying to get you the money. That's it
- 3/29/25, 10:13 AM - G: Go to be at the house in 10 minutes and we can talk then at the dining room table
- 3/29/25, 10:13 AM - C: Okay
- 3/29/25, 10:53 AM - G: <Media omitted>
- 3/29/25, 10:54 AM - G: Venmo tagname:
- @GgMcDermott
- 3/29/25, 10:58 AM - G: Today's rent balance is $497
- On April 1st rent balance will be $1095
- 4/3/25, 3:02 PM - C: Just so you are aware I just spoke with my job and I get paid on the 7th and 22nd of each month. Apparently we get paid 2x per month, not every two weeks. Is it okay if I get with you on the 7th?
- 4/7/25, 2:29 PM - G: Will you be able to pay through Venmo today or do we need to get together?
- 4/7/25, 2:31 PM - C: I'll see if I can pay via venmo. I'll let you know in a bit spending time at my girlfriend's friends house rn
- 4/7/25, 6:18 PM - C: Same venmo as before right?
- 4/7/25, 6:19 PM - C: Just want to make sure I send the money to the right place
- 4/7/25, 6:46 PM - C: Let me know I'll send the 600 soon as I confirm the venmo address
- 4/7/25, 7:04 PM - G: Which Venmo did you send it to last time ?
- Was it my personal name or was it:
- @BamaFastRentals
- 4/7/25, 7:05 PM - G: My personal Venmo is:
- @GgMcDermott
- 4/7/25, 7:05 PM - C: Your personal
- 4/7/25, 7:05 PM - G: You can send it to the personal
- 4/7/25, 7:05 PM - C: K
- 4/7/25, 7:06 PM - C: Sent
- 4/7/25, 7:07 PM - G: Thank you for following through
- 4/7/25, 7:08 PM - C: Sorry about the lag life kind of gave me a bit of a rough time the last few months. Thank you for being understanding
- 4/7/25, 7:24 PM - G: I'm just glad that you took control of your destiny and are making a difference now.
- It always feels good to be a producer and I don't mean for me.
- I mean for whoever the producer is, they feel good inside
- 4/7/25, 7:43 PM - C: Yeah I'm doing my best with what I got. Thank you though.
- I take it David and Charlotte moved out by the way?
- 4/7/25, 8:01 PM - G: Yeah he lost his job and he was not willing to take a job paying $20 an hour.
- So he's probably gonna stay homeless until he changes his mind
- 4/7/25, 8:03 PM - C: Oh wow yeah. Well they are drug addicts I'm 99% sure so that keeps me from having to out them, at the very least. Also, considering that's what he made at his previous job that's kind of hilarious.
- 4/7/25, 8:10 PM - G: Well maybe so but they've never caused issues that typical drug addicts cause and they always paid their rent and when they didn't pay their rent he called me beforehand.
- Instead of the scumbags that have rented from me in the past that think I'm just going to forget about it and someday find out after they've lived there for 4 months and that's what used to happen before I got Rachel my bookkeeper
- 4/7/25, 8:10 PM - G: After I found out the hard way you can't trust black people or white crackheads
- 4/7/25, 8:10 PM - G: I don't know what it is about black women but they are the biggest thieves on planet Earth when it comes to rent
- I manage over 300 properties and 62% of all my defaults that I get are single black women
- 4/7/25, 8:11 PM - G: That's a very sad statistic ........isn't it?
- 4/7/25, 8:16 PM - C: It's not great, that's for sure. But I get, from your perspective, why it is hard to trust certain demographics and why I might have seemed to fall into that category. Feels good to be getting caught up though. I'll be getting my next check on the 22nd so I should be able to, hopefully, be all caught up before the end of the month.
- 4/7/25, 8:42 PM - G: Sounds good.
- I never thought of you being in any demographic.
- You probably just got me started on a tangent when you mentioned David......
- Ha !
- 4/8/25, 10:21 AM - G: Are you still interested in moving to Amanda Circle?
- 4/8/25, 10:22 AM - G: It's $100 more a month
- 4/8/25, 10:25 AM - C: Let me see about what my girlfriend is trying to do. If we moved anywhere it would be together probably at this point, now what we are more comfortable with each other and we've been together for a while. I also might be getting a second job at cotton row, prohibition or bravo. Got a few interviews. It'd only be a couple days a week but she works in Madison as well so I gotta consider that too
- 4/8/25, 10:33 AM - G: Okay just let me know
- 4/8/25, 10:33 AM - C: Will do
- 4/8/25, 11:18 AM - C: My girlfriend does have a cat, are any of those standalone properties we saw open to pets?
- 4/8/25, 11:33 AM - G: Yes
- 3610 Fairview Ave SW
- Huntsville AL
- 4/8/25, 11:33 AM - G: Rent was just lowered to $798
- 4/10/25, 12:24 PM - G: Are you thinking you want to move into an apartment by May 1st?
- 4/10/25, 6:39 PM - C: That was the goal
- 4/14/25, 7:32 AM - G: <Media omitted>
- 4/14/25, 8:05 AM - G: We weren't having any kitchen issues until you showed up
- 4/14/25, 8:08 AM - G: <Media omitted>
- 4/14/25, 8:12 AM - G: If you'll notice you still owe $495 for April NOT including March and April late fees.
- And since you're rent is 598 per month that means you have $103 credit in April (not counting late fees for March and April).
- This means you are paid up until April 5th.
- And since you're not keeping the kitchen clean we'll be coming over this afternoon to make sure your things are out.
- I can't rent the house or show the house when all that crap is in the kitchen.
- 4/14/25, 9:13 AM - C: Dude I keep telling you I don't eat hamburger helper. For the 4th time it's Garrett
- 4/14/25, 9:14 AM - C: I took pictures last night to show you. Look in our conversation history if you don't believe me. He's also been pouring grease down the drain. Can you please stop threatening to kick me out over things I haven't done?
- 4/14/25, 9:21 AM - G: I have no pictures from you on either text thread
- 4/14/25, 9:22 AM - C: I don't eat hamburger helper. I told you I cook vegan only.
- 4/14/25, 9:22 AM - C: null
- 4/14/25, 9:22 AM - C: <Media omitted>
- 4/14/25, 9:22 AM - C: <Media omitted>
- 4/14/25, 9:22 AM - C: <Media omitted>
- 4/14/25, 9:22 AM - C: <Media omitted>
- 4/14/25, 9:22 AM - C: These are from midnight when I got home. I was waiting until I woke up to send them to you
- 4/14/25, 9:23 AM - G: Well everybody seems to think it's someone else
- 4/14/25, 9:23 AM - C: Because I don't like sending texts in the middle of the night. He must have cooked it sometime after I went to work
- 4/14/25, 9:23 AM - C: It's Garrett. He was cooking when I left and he uses that pan exclusively
- 4/14/25, 9:23 AM - G: If you know who it is why don't you knock on his door and have a discussion with him.
- Because he's going to end up getting everyone kicked out
- 4/14/25, 9:24 AM - C: I have tried he also left a pan of grease out and I put it on top of his food. I can not make him do anything though
- 4/14/25, 9:25 AM - C: He lies about it being his or says he's using it or something because he's that lazy i guess. I have no authority over him though
- 4/14/25, 9:31 AM - G: I just got off the phone with Garrett and he admitted everything.
- I told him if I see it again he's moving
- 4/14/25, 9:31 AM - C: Thank you
- 4/14/25, 9:32 AM - G: But a problem just as big is you have an unauthorized guest that's living there and you didn't tell me about it
- 4/14/25, 9:33 AM - C: Yeah she's been here a lot. She had surgery and she was recovering at first. That's part of the reason we're trying to find a place to move into by the 1st at the latest. However she's also helped me catch up on the rent, so keep that in mind.
- 4/14/25, 9:37 AM - G: Two tenants verified that she lives there and that she's there all the time
- 4/21/25, 9:26 AM - G: We didn't get rent last Friday. What happened?
- 4/21/25, 9:29 AM - C: I told you I would pay you again on the 22nd when I got paid. Go back in our conversation history. I get paid on the 7th and 22nd of every month, I thought it was biweekly because my first check landed on a Friday 3 weeks after I started, but it's twice a month
- 4/21/25, 9:33 AM - G: <Media omitted>
- 4/21/25, 9:34 AM - G: There's nowhere on this text thread (since the day we met where I took this picture) that you've changed anything. Go ahead and screenshot what you have and prove it
- 4/21/25, 9:34 AM - C: <Media omitted>
- 4/21/25, 9:35 AM - G: You sat right in front of me at the table Tell me that you get paid on the 18th.
- It's not on the WhatsApp and that's where I text you
- 4/21/25, 9:35 AM - C: Literally right there
- 4/21/25, 9:35 AM - C: That's why I venmod you on the 7th
- 4/21/25, 9:42 AM - G: This message was deleted
- 4/23/25, 3:26 PM - G: I received 250 and saw your note that said 245 remaining.
- When do you plan on paying that ?
- 4/24/25, 9:32 PM - G: I got your room rented for May so make sure you're moved out by April 30th
- 4/24/25, 10:00 PM - C: Well that's illegal. 30 days minimum is the minimum legally required notice and you have to serve an eviction notice. Not quite how it works Gg
- 4/24/25, 10:11 PM - G: What's illegal is you making up your own rules and letting your girlfriend move in and not even telling me.
- 4/24/25, 10:12 PM - G: Try to be nice to you and let you move in with for almost nothing and now you're just like everyone else when you don't get your way for being a delinquent you start treating the people who have giving you slack, like crap
- 4/24/25, 10:13 PM - G: I'm tired of chasing you and you have no respect for the rules so it's over
- 4/25/25, 7:39 AM - C: So I didn't respond last night, partially because I try not to text people in the middle of the night when I get off work, but also because your texts are so unnecessarily condescending and vindictive and I really don't know why or how you think you have the right to come at me like that when I've been professional, courteous and downright placative in all my communications with you.
- You have threatened to kick me out on 3 separate occasions now and each time it has been with less than 24 hours notice of eviction, done by WhatsApp, and now you're attempting to give me 6 days notice and treat me as a second class citizen.
- I have paid you 600 dollars twice and 250 dollars once since the month began, catching up to all but 245 dollars paid of rent in less than 30 days of getting actual pay from this job. I make approximately 2000-2500/month which means I've given you 2/3-3/4 of my total monthly income so far. I don't know if you understand but that means I've had zero dollars in my pocket at almost any point in time since I started making money at this position. The only other thing I've spent money on is food, gas and maintenance necessities on my car when it's broken or broken down.
- I would really like to know exactly what rules I've made up? What have I done or said to imply I am making up anything? Also, how have you 'tracked me down' exactly, especially considering I've received 1 missed phone call (missed because you called while I was at work) and 1 actual text (non-whatsapp message) which was received last month. Not only do I not check my phone often, I DEFINITELY don't check WhatsApp often because you are literally the only human with whom I have EVER had correspondence on this service. I've told you previously, more than once, if you need me then text or call. If it's important call. I literally downloaded this to make your life easier.
- I'm not going to describe my girlfriends life or situation to you because that's her business and her life, but she had multiple serious personal issues come up, one of which is recovering from surgery, and that's the only reason she's been here so much. I have been looking at places and trying to complete the application process and decide on a place to move into by May 1st. You should already know this, since part of that process was with you--I toured 3 separate houses with you trying to find a place and told you in this text history that I was planning on being out May 1st if at all humanly possible. Keep in mind that this is all on top of me paying you the 1450 dollars I've paid you so far.
- Also, if you'd bothered to attempt calling me or actually contacting me before threatening me you'd know I already have the money I owe you in my pocket. Looking back, the reasons I didn't respond to your message are 1) I was getting ready for work so didn't see them or hear the notifications 2) they have only been sent for roughly 36 hours as of this message; I don't even respond to my parents in that time frame more often than not, and 3) You sent the messages via WhatsApp which, as I explained previously, is not the best way to get a hold of me for important and/or official communications that you require an expedient response to. One phone call yesterday before 330pm would have probably avoided this entire issue.
- So, in review, I have been honest with you unlike half of the other tenants who do/ have live(d) here, at every single step of the way. I have upheld my end of the vocal bargain we struck that first day (even though you altered the bargain--originally you told me we would handle the deposit separately and then after I began paying you the deposit was included in "rent money owed". Which I never mentioned because I've been trying VERY hard given the way you've been treating me, to remain professional and polite while doing everything I can to maintain my end of the bargain) to the best of my physical and fiduciary abilities. I have paid you 1450 dollars in the last 30 days, over half of my estimated pay for a FULL months worth of work at my current job (and I spent 2 weeks in training, 2 weeks only working 3 days per week instead of 5 days like I do now while they worked out the schedules, and there's a week delay from worked hours to when I receive pay). And I have the last 245 I owe you available to me as of the end of my shift last night. I even kept the bar open for an extra 2 hours because I was trying to get the money as soon as possible. And I've broken exactly one 'rule' since I've moved in here, which I have been earnest and up front about with you--going so far as to seek your help in finding a new place to rent with the other person, having you meet this person and telling you about them and their situation (or at least what was poignant). While I appreciate the leg up you provided me when we met, your communications with me have constantly and consistently deteriorated since that moment for reasons I honestly can neither understand, nor infer based on our interactions and my own actions regarding you or the house in general.
- So, if you can, please elucidate the reasons behind your knee-jerk reactions, messages, and decisions regarding myself and my tenancy. At first I figured it was money, but I'm almost completely caught up on rent so that's not it.
- Or don't and we can move forward with this. I do warn you that if you insist on illegally and prematurely evicting me as per Alabama law I will stand up for myself and my rights in this state. That means involving the sheriff's, only responding to eviction notices from a lawyer, which have been filed with the city, and going through the 30-plus day process of processing the eviction. It's not how I want to approach the situation, nor what I want to do, but what you're threatening to do is illegal, unnecessary and honestly just plain wrong. If standing up for myself makes me a 'delinquent' (poor choice of words considering I'm no longer in arrears fiscally) and means I'm 'treating you like crap' then so be it, I suppose, but I'm not going to allow the property management company I have given every spare dime of my disposable income to this month to force me into destitution and displace me illegally and immediately because their manager has a whim on how he wants to proceed with the process, and is either ignorant or uncaring of the laws governing tenancy in this county/state.
- I would absolutely prefer to simply wait on these applications to be completed and move on from this place as I was originally planning, a process I've been undertaking since the month began, in the original manner intended and hopefully within the original timeline. That said, if you want to proceed with an eviction and spend thousands on lawyers, legal fees, court fees, and labor/man hours, I think you'll find while I have been extremely polite and have made every effort to live up to my word whenever and wherever possible, and despite the fact that I was indeed assaulted and robbed a few days prior to moving in, I am not a pushover, nor am I an idiot, and I am far from without resources to stand up for the rights I know I have in this state and with regards to my tenancy at a home I've paid a good amount of money to live in. I do NOT want to live here any longer than necessary--Garrett is a lazy, thoughtless liar who would rather hide dishes in his room and allow the kitchen stove be set on fire because of neglecting to clean up after himself, than to take a few moments out of his day and be at all considerate to the other people who live in this house (yes there was a fire. I went to cook something and was unaware he had used one of the back burners to make something fatty or greasy, and had spilled a significant amount in the burner tray. If I hadn't have spent decades in kitchens or would have had to use the bathroom while my water was boiling, the kitchen--and maybe the entire house--could have gone up in flames VERY easily since I was the only person home at the time). And that doesn't begin to address the one bathroom for 4 tenants issue, the smell from Garrett's room which is untenable, or the cleanliness situation in the bathroom.
- You let me know how you want to proceed and I'll respond in the appropriate and/or necessary manner after the fact. I do hope it is with tact, decorum and respect and without involving officers of the law and court. While it may cost me a few hundred dollars on the outside, I doubt you or your company would care nearly as well fiscally.

- 4/28/25, 1:27 PM - G: I'm giving you the opportunity to leave without penalty and without a blemished rent record on your background for 7 years.
- And all you want to do is virtual signal like you're the one in the right.
- You know what's owed and you're trying to get out of it and buy yourself some more time for you and your girlfriend who you illegally put into the house.
- Instead of giving me the history of the world, why don't you just tell me if you're going to leave by the 1st or you want me to file eviction and set you out by the courts ?
- 4/29/25, 7:21 AM - G: <Media omitted>
- 4/30/25, 7:46 PM - C: Actually I never said I wouldn't pay you. Ever. In fact I had every intention of paying you until you gave me "7 days notice" that I had to vacate the premises, illegally and against the contract, and giving me short notice for the 3rd time.
- Why else would I have paid you 1450 dollars this month?
- I never once indicated that I was not going to or had no intentions to pay you. The only reason I haven't done so is because I'm not trying to spend all of my income on someone who tries to eject me from my home against their word, their contract we both signed, and against the letter of the law on 3 separate occasions now.
- That all said, I've been in the process of looking for a new place since before April and I'm waiting on the final part of the application process for somewhere which should complete in the next few days. If you can wait until Monday I'll be out by then if not before then-- possibly by Friday if this last step finishes as quickly as the first couple of steps did. Yet another reason I didn't pay you the 245 I planned on paying you when you messaged me telling me I needed to be out by the 1st of May-- application fees and gas and time to go view places add up.
- No, I do not leave dirty dishes in the kitchen, and if I do cook rice then I use a pot not a rice cooker--so I can control the process better.
- What exactly makes you think I'm not trying to pay you? Because my girlfriend underwent surgery and I didn't add her to the lease with less than 3 weeks left in that room, when I already informed you I wanted to move out and she WOULD be on that lease? Or is it the 1450 dollars I paid you in less than 1 month? Or is it the fact that I have tried to move into another of your properties and have spent almost all of my disposable income in the last 2 months on paying you back, going so far as to live off of rice, eggs and vegetables for literally 47 days out of the first 60 days I lived in that room?
- At the end of the day, Gg, I did not in any way shape or form start this dispute. I simply am informing you of the parameters of the contract and your subsequent obligations--I have done everything in my power to uphold my end of the obligations we set forth at the beginning of our business relations. I have never once been responsible for the food in the kitchen you've blamed me for, I have paid you every cent I could spare at every moment I could, and even now I don't plan on denying you any of the money owed--I simply need a place to sleep and keep my possessions until a more amenable property management group approves me to live in the apartment I've been going through the process of applying for.
- I don't know if your problem is that I didn't pay you all at once, or that I went through a couple of jobs when I got out of the hospital and started living there. But you have wholly misrepresented me and my intentions, whether consciously or not, and have tried to eject me from the premises without proper notice on multiple occasions. I would have a 500 dollar fee if I DID give you 30 days notice I was going to leave, as per the terms of the lease.
- I never had a problem paying you, I never avoided payment whenever I had money, i kept the living and shared spaces clean, and I've tried to amend any issues that have come up. I really don't know what your problem with me is, but it's sure as fuck not what you say it is, because I've done everything I can to fulfill my end of the bargain--or in the event that the terms of said bargain changed unexpectedly I've sought to negotiate a new bargain which is fair and honest to both of us.
- So, in summary, I'll be out Monday at the latest it looks like. If you still want to waste a ton of money on pursuing frivolous lawsuits out of spite then that's up to you. But that's still almost 3 weeks before I'm required to leave as per the terms of the contract. And my problem was never paying you, but was in fact your wrongful accusations, condescending and derogatory remarks which were WHOLLY unnecessary, and your inability to admit when you are wrong.
- I will pay you--though it will now have to be AFTER I stabilize in my new apartment since you decided to terminate the lease and further destabilize my situation instead of simply moving me and my girlfriend into another property as I sought out originally--and I'm unsure when that will be.
- The money was never the problem. Your attitude and potentially living in my car once again absolutely was.
- But if you want to file for eviction have fun trying to prove you provided 30 days notice as per terms of the lease.
