sad lilim (green text)

You, as a new hero break into a keep. All you gonna see are tubs of super marshmallow double chocolate fudge ice-cream on the floor and a slightly chubby disheveled Lilim in a bathrobe watching sappy movies, crying and shoveling ice-cream into her mouth between sobs.

>ask her what's wrong
>all she does is mutter "every time, every time, everytime..."
>you ask her what she talking about.
>she finally notices your a hero, intead of preparing for a fight, she just tosses a key at you.
>"that is the key to my treasury, take what you want and get out."
>you ask why she doesn't want to fight
>her face takes a more haunted look. "whats the point, I'm think I'm...no I KNOW I'm stronger then you right now."
>You ask why she doesn't prove that.
>"because I can already hear it, the guitar riffs, the dramatic piano, some woman wailing about love or some other bullshit, and that always leads to me getting defeated and my castle destroyed. I don't need to be a greater laughing stock among my sisters then I already am. just leave me alone."

>you tell her it cant be that bad
>the lilim gives a hollow laugh "My sisters have conquered city's, defeated and married the strongest of heroes the land has to offer. I on the other hand get booted back to the demon realm with nothing to show for it."
>you say that she lives in a castle, that must be some thing.
>the lilim was starting to get angry "Look around you human! this place is empty! the heroes before you have ransacked the place! there no humans converted for my army, no city to call my own and I have barely any gold left and all because some little punk with a holy weapon `Fights for his loved ones`. between them and those who thrash my home I cant take it any more!"

>She's fallen into crying again "What am I meant to do? am I cursed to forever deal with this blasted `heroic second wind` even when defending my home?"
>you give the demon princess a hug and pat her back as she cries into your shoulder.
>after a few minutes she calms down. you hand the treasury key back to her and tell her that you don't know the answer but you do know that you won't add to her misery. you prepare to leave out the window you smashed through to get in.
>"Wait!" she shouts just before you climb out. "Can you return tomorrow?"
>not seeing a problem with this you give her a nod, and she returns the first real smile you've seen today.
>with nothing left to say, you leave her castle.

>Weeks go by as you repeatedly visit the Lilim in her castle
>while there you spent time talking about what she could do to get her back on her feet.
>you can no longer count the number of times you've be asked. "as a hero, what do you think about this?"
>One part of you thought it was kinda weird helping what should be your enemy get her confidence back, but and another part of you thought it was more fun this way.

>its been 2 months since you started your visits
>with your help the lilim is now getting back in shape, even better as she now had someone spar with and test her sword fighting and magic on.
>With her having no one around to talk to, you became close quite quickly.
>It wasn't all great thought, as you had no experience with it you could not explain her source of her fall; `the heroic second wind`.
>she had asked you about it every week, and `I don't know` was the only strait answer you could give.
>still, there was more work to be done, like restoring her castle for instance

>soon the some what chubby and depressed succubus is gone
>The lilim is one again worthy of being called a demon princess,at least in your eyes.
>With her back to form, she tries again to spread her influence across the land.
>said actions brought a hero smashing through a recently repaired window.
>Wielding a holy sword, he declares he's going to kill you both, her for what she is and you for being at traitor by helping her.
>You were no slouch before, but you training with the lilim has taken your skill to new heights as you easily fend off the heros attacks with the lilim's help.
>The hero is floored at this point. you can feel victory in your-
>I wont lose to you! Not when my friends and the one I love are all counting on me!"

>Music starts to play around you. why? there is no band to play it.
>the hero gets to his feet like you did no damage to him, and his holy sword starts to glow a vibrant blue.
>A clang brings you attention to the lilim, she's dropped her sword and her confident expression has tuned to horror as she trembles in fear, slowly backing away and almost breaking into tears as she says "Please no... not again, not this time, not after all we've been through."
>Then it hit you, this is "it". this is what she experienced so many times it broke her.
>the heroic second wind.


>Never before have you experienced such a tide turn in battle.
>This is absurd.
>You knew you were about to win, he had nothing left, you were sure of it!
>With the demon princess out due to her trauma kicking in, the hero focused on you.
>The hero block attacks that sent him rolling across the floor minuets ago and manages to make cuts in your armour and wound your body.
>A strike from the holy blade sends you in to a wall, the hero is looking to finish it as the blue glow of the his sword turns gold.
>"Perish traitor, for the sake of my village!" he scream as a blast of gold light is launched at you from his sword.
>You hear the lilim call out your name and her hand enter your sight before light engulfs your vision.

>When the light clears, you realise your still alive, hell your not even in any new pain other then the eye sting from the light.
>you see the lilim in front of you, her hands outstretched and her once beautiful battle dress is torn.
>The hero is not surprised by her protecting you and charges up another attack. "for those I care for, I shall-"
>"Enough of this!" The lilim cuts him of with a scream the hero is shocked by the sudden outburst and the charging attack fizzles out.
>"I am a Lilim! I am a daughter of the demon lord herself! I will not let this comeback insanity work against me any longer!"
>The whole room seems to rumble the lilim plunges her hand into a dark portal and drags out a glowing purple longsword.
>"I have lost too much to you heroes already, I will not lose my beloved as well!"
>Your eyes widened not only by her confession. but also the fact that the "epic" music had stopped and was replaced by what felt like a much darker theme.
>The hero must have herd it too, as he looked like he was starting to panic "what is this? this isn't right!"
>The lilim helps you to your feet and before you can say any thing, she gives you a deep kiss. after you separate she gets ready to fight and you do the same, the music urging you to attack.
>"Mark my words hero, you will not leave a victor today!" she shout as you both launch at him.

>"This is wrong! this isn't how this is meant to go!" the hero shouted as he clashed with you. "I am the hero, the faith of my loved ones demands I win!"
>With renewed strength the hero was no match against the demon princess and yourself.
>The hero once again was struggling to stand up after the relentless beating.
>"I wont stop.., my friends need me." he said before the lilim punched him in the face.
>With him out cold, yo wanted to ask what to do next, but you were cut of by the lilim's cry of joy.
>"I did it! I finally did it! I beat the heroic second wind with a comeback of my own!" it was amusing to see her fly around the room while yelling and laughing in excitement.
>When she finally calmed down, she Turned to you and looked you in the eye with a soft smile."I know you wanted to be a hero but I meant what I said, I don't want to lose you. I still desire a demon realm of my own, but I want to rule with you by my side."
>After taking a glance at your unconscious opponent, you embrace her and give her a kiss, telling her being a hero is overrated.
>with that said the two of you then placed the hero in the dungeon, and then moved to her room to celebrate today's victory.
