  1. Chouginga Sendan Beginner's Guide

  3. First, the main screen. You will see 7 large, pink buttons to the left. Those really cover the important menus.
  4. There are also 5 buttons in the center of the three blue top bars above the main screen.
  5.  
  6. The main screen itself is mostly used to view (and re-view) voiced scenes between girls. More on that later.
  7. I will start explaining each menu by breakdown, starting with the 7 pink buttons.
  8.  
  9. First I start by briefly explaining resources:
  10. Riceball: Food (Missions, Recovery)
  11. Pill: Medicine (Recovery)
  12. Flame: Fuel (Misions, Crafting)
  13. 3 Bars: Steel (Missions, Crafting)
  14. 3 Bullets: Ammo (Missions, Crafting)

  17. ========MEMBER========
  18. This is where you compose your squads. There are up to 3 squads normally and 1 you can pay for. But in my experience, this is extremely pointless.
  19. To build a squad, you have six spaces which you can fill with girls. There is one (or two, if a girl is present) button next to each space which opens the girl selection screen.
  20. The three buttons at the top of this menu (plus the gold coin) are simply to select each squad to view and edit.
  21. The bottom left button switches the displayed girl with any partner if equipped to see how much EXP is needed and what level they are. It does not in any way influence combat.
  22. The bottom right buttons, to the left: brings up the equipment management screen. More on that in a moment. The bottom right buttons, to the right: the discard menu: You can scrap droids and mutants here or simply check their stats.

  24. Now the sub menus of MEMBER. Remember, the blue button next to each of the six slots in a squad.
  25. In this menu you can select any girl that isn't already in a squad and add her to the specific slot of your squad.
  26. The line-up does matter as actions as generally taken from 1 to 6 going in a Up left, Up right, Middle left, Middle right, Bottom left, Bottom right order.
  27. If a girl is already in a squad and you'd like to remove her from the squad, press the red X buttons next to her. This only removes her from the squad.
  28. Do not worry, there is no way to accidentally delete a main girl.
  29. In the member selection screen we just talked about there is more to see. Click a girl. Her mini-menu will come up.
  30. This has 3 buttons at the top, and two at the bottom. The botton ones are simply confirm(left) and cancel(right). If confirm is gray, the girl is already in a squad.
  31. The top 3 buttons are "Girl Stats" "Attribute(Cosmetic)"& "Equipped Skills" and finally "Equipment"
  32. Equipment is yet another menu (Member -> Girl Selection -> Equipment)

  34. Each girl has 2 weapon slots plus up to 4 unit slots (Unit = Armor)
  35. To explain this, first you need to know about 'partners'
  36. Partners are either Droids or Mutants. Both have their uses. This makes up the three categories of girls.
  37. Pilots: There are six in each team, making a total of 18 pilots. There can not be duplicates of these, you can never discard them, and they require their own recruit method.
  38. Mutants: These are drops from combat missions. More on that later.
  39. Droids: These are assembled via crafting either with drops from combat missions or from crafting.
  40.  
  41. Equipping a Partner will change the combat appearance of the girl to that of the partner. With the right partner, a special skill called "Unlimited Duo" is available which is a very powerful move.
  42. Each and every single partner has a specific Unlimited Duo or UD for short.
  43. You cannot pair partners (Mutant + Mutant, Mutant + Droid or Droid + Droid) with each other, only Pilots with Partners.

  45. Alternatively to equipping a partner, you can equip up to 2 weapons (Some weapons need both slots)
  46. The bottom row is 2 free slots, 2 locked slots and 4 paid slots. The locked slots unlock at level 20 and 40 respectively and these are used to equip Units (Remember, Armor)
  47. Now for example, click on the weapon slots and it will bring up a mutant selection menu. Selecting a mutant will bring up another mini-menu. This time, it will just show the mutants stats (first tab) and skills (second tab) (Third tab unknown purpose)
  48. In the skills tab of the partner, the top one is her UD (Unlimited Duo) and the bottom one are her regular skills. Clicking the big ! next to the regular skills, you can delete the regular skill. There is no way to override UD or delete it.

  50. Now to cover the stats: When selecting a girl or partner, the first tab shows their stats: These are in Z order, HP, Stamina, Attack, Defense, Speed and Luck.
  51. The most important stats are HP, Attack and Defense. Speed is not very important and luck is even less important.

  53. If a girl has a partner equipped this is displayed in the main MEMBER screen by showing both the Pilot and the Partner portrait in each slot.
  54. Clicking on the partner portrait will take you right away to the partner equipment screen. Clicking on the Pilot portrait will take you to the Pilot selection menu, like the bottom right corner; left button.

  56. The scrapping menu for Partners looks identical to the menu to equip them. Upon selecting a partner and pressing confirm you are asked to confirm again while a small textbox displays some text and numbers, the number representing how many res (very few) you will gain.
  57. This is how you can tell you're in the scrapping menu. Personally: It's useless.

  59. This more or less covers the MEMBER screen. Don't worry, it'll be less overwhelming from here on.

  62. ========MISSION========
  63. There are six types of Missions and I will break down their workings.
  64. From left to right:
  65. Annihilation: Beat enemies into submission to reach Point B and complete the mission. In this mode, you do not advance on the map until you have destroyed all enemies.
  66. Invasion: Destroy a large enemy base at Point B. In this mode, you constantly advance (except during mode transitions) towards Point B while battling enemies. You win if you destroy the large base at point B even if enemies remain on screen. On the way there will be enemy frotifications that draw your fire during combat.
  67. Defense: Destroy all enemies before they destroy your base at Point A. This is the only mode in which you traverse the map backwards, from B to A. Reaching A just means you are backed into a corner.
  68. Search: Fewer enemies and no large (powerful) enemies in this mode. More treasure chests than normally. Otherwise identical to Annihilation.
  69. Supply Runs: These are non-combat missions where you send girls on an expedition to gather resources. With the current system, this is not very useful.
  70. Special: Often there are no missions here, but during events there will be special missions.

  72. Combat itself I will explain later but first some more in-depth information on what we see in this menu. Each type of mission, except Special, has 30 maps. This is divided up into 15 ranks, starting at 1 star and ending at 15 stars. This is commonly refered to as X-Y, where X stands for the number of stars and Y stands for either the first or second of the maps under that start.
  73. (Second means the second map that unlocked, not the second one with that number of stars in the list)
  74. Click a mission and it will bring up the mission details, 3 tabs.

  76. First Tab, Mission specifics: Left to right, top to bottom:
  77. Number of stars, Mission flavor text, Stamina needed, Number of times completed, Resources needed, Minutes allotted.

  79. Every map costs Stamina (minimum 5, maximum 12, depends on rank)
  80. Clearing a map returns 50% of the expended resources to you.
  81. Running out of time means you fail a mission.

  84. Second Tab, Enemies encountered: Lists the enemies you can encounter here.

  86. Third Tab, Unknown. This appears to list specific mechanics that are true for the map.

  88. Upon confirming to take a mission, a similar screen to the MEMBER one will come up. Bottom right corner: Left button is confirm, right one takes you to the MEMBER screen.
  89. After confirming a list of 'Assists' is brought up. These trigger during combat and attack all enemies. There are NPC and Player Assists and player ones are, typically, stronger, but depend on their setup which you cannot see.

  91. Confirm once more and the last screen pops up, which will contain whatever combat-usable tickets you have. In particular, these are the EXP boost ticket and the 'Encounter'. More on that in the spreadsheet.

  94. ========STRENGTH========
  95. Basically the crafting, fusing and recruit menu.

  98. Top row: Left to Right: Craft Modules / Parts, Craft Droids, Craft Weapons/Units

  102. >>Module/Part crafting is very straight forward. Input res, pray to RNG you get something good. I generally recommend not crafting for anything but Droid #30 parts which all cost upwards of 8000 Steel, Fuel and Ammo each.

  104. >>Craft Droids is even more straight forward but there are some details you need to know. Droid Blueprints largely come from leveling up your HQ (which happens automatically as you finish missions) and some come from drops from specific maps.
  105. There are a total of 25 blueprints (and 5 fusions) of Droids. Upon clicking a blueprint, you will see a portrait (obscured if you don't have the droid crafted before) a black square with a blue button inside and a list of parts you need to assemble the Droid.
  106. If you press the top right, small, button you get to see the droids level 1 stats.
  107. The only thing worth mentioning now is the black square. You can add (Minerals) from here which can give the Droid an innate skill. See the spreadsheet for which material gives which skills.

  109. >>Craft Weapon/Unit is identical to Droid crafting, including the minerals part.

  112. >>Fusion is very straight forward as well. You have three types, fusion weapons, fusion units and fusion partners.
  113. Each functions the same way. You pick, upper box, a weapon/unit/partner as main, and bottom box, either a fusion item (EXP items) or another weapon/unit/partner to sacrifice.
  114. The bottom one is sacrificed so don't mess that up
  115. The three big buttons are Confirm, Special and Cancel.
  116. Special lets you add specific tickets to either increase EXP gained or make it easier to transfer skills from the sacrificed W/U/P to the main one.

  118. >>Pilot Recruitment
  119. Extremely simple Menu. You spend 5 recruit tickets to try and recruit a new Pilot (All maps drop 1 ticket when cleared and they are also found frequently in treasure chests during missions)
  120. You can only get each Pilot once and if you roll a duplicate result, you get a 'Rookie Apperance Fail'. It also costs a pittance of res and has a 3 minute cooldown between tries.
  121. When you have all the Pilots in the game, the menu will be grayed out and you can't use it anymore.

  124. ========HANGAR========
  125. Basically, your inventory. You can look at weapons / Units / Minerals / Droid Parts here and also discard them if you want.
  126. The Hangar has a limit of 200 items. Weapons and Units do not stack.
  127. There is not much to this menu, honestly.

  129. ========RECOVERY========
  130. One of the most important menus. You start with 2 slots and unlock 4 more for free. You can then buy 4 more yet if you are so inclined.
  131. These are used to recover Stamina and HP of Pilots. In the past, Partners also had stamina but this was abolished.
  132. HP Lost, Stamina Lost, Level, Rank all contribute to how long it will take to recover. A Max level character of A rank and 0 Stamina but full HP will take some 5 hours to fully recover.
  133. Recovering costs Food and Medicine.

  135. You can spend a 'Rapid Cure' ticket by clicking the gold button next to a repairing girl to instantly repair her but this is only advised for extremely long repair times during events.

  137. ========DESPATCH========
  138. This sends out an 'Assist' Fleet which other players can chose to aid them in battle instead of NPC assists. It costs 5 stamina, lasts a hour (can be cancelled any time but the 5 stamina are gone) and will bring you small gifts of resources and Silver Points (Later) for each time someone uses your Assist.
  139. Not very useful in early levels, do not be stingy with who you deploy here as it builds a good reputation and having a good reputation for Assists is important in the community.

  156. 3 Tabs, Friends, Friend offers you got, Friend offers you made.
  157. First tab, friends, click on someone and see their stats. The button at the bottom lets you remove them.
  158. Second tab, offers you got, left button is accept, right button is decline.
  159. Third tab, offers you made, the button lets you cancel the offer.

  161. Friends are useful because you will be given priority to seeing their assists and them seeing your assists. It also works for specific events (such as the July 2015 Raid event)

  163. ========INFO========
  164. These are just notes from the developers about the game, such as maintenance times.
  165.  
  166. ========PRESENT========
  167. Where you receive gifts from Despatch, Login Bonuses or Event Rewards. This is also where excess mission rewards (except excess recruit tickets) go, such as minerals (when you have 999 already and get more)
  168. There is a 30 day expiration date, the top right button takes all the items on the current page you can take. A red message means the gift cannot be taken because you have too many res or not enough space.

  170. ========SHOP========
  171. Three shops.
  172. Real Money Shop.
  173. Silver point Shop.

  178. The Silver point (SP) shop is fuelled by silver point from Despatch. Only way to get those. The silver point shop is basically a lottery where you win tickets, exp items and minerals.

  184. ================COMBAT================
  185. The actual beef of the game.
  186.  
  187. Combat can be slightly overwhelming but is actually not that complicated. First off, your entire team will always get a turn before the enemy goes in every new encounter.
  188. They go in formation from 1 to 6, 1 being the upper left squad member in the MEMBER screen, 6 being the bottom right one.
  189. After that, the speed value kicks in. The exact mechanics are still largely unknown but generally, your first member gets another turn before the enemies get their turn and they will then move in order from 1 to 6.
  190. Each character, including enemies, have a specific range and attack type.
  191. Ranges are these. "Long Range" (Fan shaped), Medium Range (Fan shaped) Low Range (Box shaped), Melee Range (Tiny Fan)
  192. Attack type is either Range (Stays put, fires at enemy) and Melee (Charges in enemy's face and stays there)
  193. You can drag and drop your girls at any time except when they are firing off an attack, skill or Unlimited Duo. This allows you to get them in range to hit enemies or move them out of the range of enemy's attacks.
  194. If a girl's turn comes up while you hold them, they skip that turn and whatever action it was is wasted (this means they could waste an UD)
  195. Enemies do not have skills or Duos in case you're wondering.
  196.  
  197. The big pink button is the 'escape' or 'withdraw' button. But it can serve a very important different purpose in Invasion and Defense missions. Clicking it and then canceling (right button) will halt all auto-scrolling until the next attack is performed.
  198. So by repeatedly pressing the button whenever a new attack begins, you can make progression very slow.
  199. For Invasion maps, if you are very strong, you can farm a large number of enemies for more EXP.
  200. For Defense maps, this allows you to significantly delay the point when enemies will be able to attack your home base.

  202. Lastly, Annihilation maps have 3-4 waves
  203. Invasion maps have, (except the early maps) 9 or 12 waves (which you will never see all of unless you use the escape button trick)
  204. Defense maps have 3-4 waves
  205. Search maps have 2-3 waves.
