i was thinking earlier today about the military abo au where shinji accidentally knocks up archer and the two of them having to finagle ways to trick everyone — all while archer is tired and feels like total shit. shinji waking up extra early in the morning and prying himself from archer’s grip to make make breakfast and get archer’s things ready before he goes to wake him up, which gets a little more difficult every day.

archer probably spends a good amount of time complaining about nausea or straight up puking and shinji stands behind him with a glass of water and pets his hair. eventually he tries to coax him out of the bathroom to at least try to eat breakfast even though he doesn’t want to. ;w; ;;;

while they’re getting dressed for duty shinji is like, actively rubbing against archer and trying to soak up as much of his scent as possible so ppl will continue to think that it’s archer that knocked him up and not the other way around. lots of cute nuzzling and encouraging kisses and telling archer he’s doing so good!!! all of these caring and calming omega vibes that shinji is inundated with bc he feels so chemically wired to want to care for archer. it helps bc it makes him radiate soft omega vibes and it makes him a little clingy, which matches a lot of how archer is feeling.

archer has to try to continue to pretend that he feels fine physically and shinji has to pretend like he is not feeling super great which puts their acting chops to the test. they do relatively decent, though. esp with their scents plastered all over each other no one pays them much mind except for tasteless comments about how good pregnant omegas smell/how lucky archer is/what they would do if their omega became pregnant, etc. it sets off the protective impulses in both archer and shinji, as well as makes them feel a bit threatened.

maybe eventually archer can use some vacation time because he never has and he knows he’s gotta get out of the compound eventually.

trying to arrange so he and shinji can both go might be problematic since archer is often needed because he’s the golden boy and shinji is generally seen as a troublemaker by the higher ups and has a record. getting desperate and ultimately not having a choice but to have shinji prostrate himself and beg, claiming that this situation will change him and he’ll be more well-behaved. (fucking i think not) oh god, it’s so painful but if he can convince archer to run away for good, then it will have been worth it.

archer is definitely ok to go hide somewhere until the baby comes but the decision to ... ultimately get dishonorably discharged is haunting him. he knows that their life is extremely stressful and shinji is miserable, but life outside of the military and not being in a position of importance is just as scary a scenario as the one he’s currently in. proposing they come back eventually and pretend it was shinji who had the baby and continue on as “normal” and they have a fight about it.  eventually shinji pulls back and says they should talk about it later bc stressing archer out is a big no-no.

hhhh he just wants to look after archer and not worry about what they’re going to do after this.
