  1. >How in the hell did he get your number, you think before realizing that you'd made the incredibly stupid mistake of calling several of your feelers.
  2. >"Your Daughter wanted to get in contact with you, I was just offering my assistance" You reply, trying your hardest to make your tone remain neutral.
  3. >"Bullshit, My daughter is in Indonesia performing humanitarian aid, if you're going to attempt to lie to me perhaps do a little fucking research first" he snaps back aggressively. "I wasn't born yesterday, so stop playing games and tell me what you want"
  4. >"Just ask Bradburry, if Dorothy isn't you daughter she wouldn't have called her Mrs. Ozmund when she hired her" You reply flatly "I don't want jack shit to do with you, and if I'd know I'd be getting into contact with you because of it I would have seriously reconsidered my offer of assistance"
  5. >"... Did you say Dorothy?" Leland asked, something in his tone making you very wary, and before you can even respond the line goes dead.
  6. >"What the hell?" you ask in confusion as you look at your phone.
  7. >"Sir, is everything alright?" Lulu asks as you hang up the phone.
  8. >"I'm not sure" You reply "The second Leland heard Dorothy's name he freaked out and hung up"
  9. >"That's super weird, Master" Sammy say as you move back to your chair and take a seat "Why would he react so strangely to his own Daughter's name?"
  10. >"I have no idea" You reply as you pinch the bridge of your nose "This is getting more complicated by the minute" You sigh.
  11. >"I'm sure that Miss Dorothy will have some answers if you ask her" Lulu tries to soothe, but you can tell that she's nervous.
  12. >The night has a uncomfortable aura over it, but Sammy's endless enthusiasm and Lulu's soothing kindness eroded it to the point where it was barely an afterthought by the time you went to bed.
  13. >The drive to work was a slog, especially due to some rode work along the way, and when you got to work you saw a sight that made your heart drop into your stomach
  14. >Multiple police cars were parked near the employee entrance, with your coworkers milling just outside the entrance.
  15. >You run towards to police line as soon as your parked, wondering what in the hell was going on, and spot a profusely sweating Even Sinclair finishing up talking to an officer and what looks to you like a nandroid in a police uniform
  16. >"Mr. Sinclair!" You call as you jog up to him "What happened?"
  17. >"Something dreadful I'm afraid! Someone has gone and set off an explosive in the building!" Sinclair cries, making your eyes bug out.
  18. >"An explosive!?" You reply in shock "Was anyone hurt?" You ask, sincerely hoping that no one was harmed.
  19. >"No, no, thank god, it was just a few lockers blown open but it sure as hell gave the morning janitors a fright!" The portly man replied, wiping sweat from his brow "I hope you didn't keep anything valuable in yours Anon, it looks like whoever set the thing off was trying to get into one of the ones in that area and didn't account for the explosion being as big as it was"
  20. >"I never used the thing, it was Agustus' before I got it and I never managed to find the key" you reply as you scratch the back of your head "but why would someone want to break into our lockers, at most there'd be some changes of clothes, right?" You ask.
  21. >"As far as the boys in blue figure it was probably an attempt as getting notes some of the Stress Testers kept on their work, corporate espionage isn't off the table, and we can only pray that this isn't covering up some whistleblower's attempt to air our dirty laundry, after that debacle at the Delair girl's birthday party the last thing we need is the news of what goes on in our Stress Testing department becoming common knowledge" He rambles, obviously incredibly stressed.
  22. >"Wait, what happened with the Delairs?" You ask, surprised to hear the bit of news in Sinclair's rant.
  23. >"Their Nandroid suffered an error, blasted Tom and the girl's birthday cake with extinguishing foam, a horrible mess" the man says with a shake of his head "We can only hope that this doesn't become an equally huge mess"
  24. >Your eyes scan over the crowd, and after a quick double check and a beginning feeling of dread, you turn to Sinclair and ask
  25. >"Has anyone seen Dorothy?"
